Description
本発明は、歪み測定装置および歪みの測定方法に関する。
歪みを測定するにあたり、近年、磁気を利用した高感度なセンサが開発されている。
例えば、特許文献1には、第1磁性層、第1非磁性層、及び第2磁性層を積層してなる積層体を含む応力検出層を有し、第1磁性層及び第2磁性層は互いに異なる磁気弾性結合定数を有し、第1磁性層及び第2磁性層のうちの一方は、磁気弾性結合定数の絶対値が0.5MJ/m3以下である歪鈍感層であり、他方は磁気弾性結合定数の絶対値が歪鈍感層の値よりも大きい歪敏感層であり、第1磁性層及び第2磁性層の磁化の相対角度は外部から加えた応力に依存して変化し、相対角度に依存し、外部から加えた応力の方向に応じた電気抵抗の変化によって歪み方向を検出する応力センサについて記載されている。
しかし、特許文献1に記載されている応力センサにおいては、磁化方向の変化以外の要素に起因する電気抵抗の変化が生じてしまう。そのため、これらの要素を排除し、より正確に歪みを測定できる装置およびその方法の開発が求められていた。
本発明は前記事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、従来技術に比べ、より正確に歪みを測定するための歪み測定装置および歪みの測定方法を提供することにある。
上記課題を解決できた本発明の歪み測定装置の一実施態様は、下記の通りである。

上記構成を有する歪み測定装置は、第1素子と第2素子から得られた電気抵抗を減算または除算することにより、従来技術に比べ、より正確に歪みを測定することができる。
本発明の歪み測定装置は、以下の[2]~[6]であることが好ましい。
[2]基材に歪みが加えられたときの前記第1磁化層の磁化方向は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態における前記第1磁化層の磁化方向±10°以内であり、基材に歪みが加えられたときの前記第3磁化層の磁化方向は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態における前記第3磁化層の磁化方向±10°以内である[1]に記載の歪み測定装置。
[3]前記少なくとも1つの磁化方向は前記他の磁化方向に対して垂直に交わる[1]または[2]に記載の歪み測定装置。
[4]前記第1スペーサ層および前記第2スペーサ層は絶縁体で構成されている[1]~[3]のいずれか一項に記載の歪み測定装置。

上記構成を有する歪みの測定方法は、第1素子と第2素子から得られた電気抵抗を減算または除算することにより、従来技術に比べ、より正確に歪みを測定することができる。
本発明の歪みの測定方法は、以下の[8]であることが好ましい。

本発明の歪み測定装置および歪みの測定方法は、第1素子と第2素子から得られた電気抵抗を減算または除算することにより、従来技術に比べ、より正確に歪みを測定することができる。
以下、本発明に関して、図面を参照しつつ具体的に説明するが、本発明はもとより図示例に限定される訳ではなく、前・後記の趣旨に適合し得る範囲で適当に変更を加えて実施することも可能であり、それらはいずれも本発明の技術的範囲に包含される。
本発明の歪み測定装置の一実施態様は、基材と、基材に形成されており、第1磁化層、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化、即ち、磁化方向の回転量が第1磁化層よりも大きい第2磁化層および第1磁化層と第2磁化層の間に配置されている第1スペーサ層を有している第1素子と、基材に形成されており、第3磁化層、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化が第3磁化層よりも大きい第4磁化層および第3磁化層と第4磁化層の間に配置されている第2スペーサ層を有している第2素子と、を有しており、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、第1磁化層の磁化方向、第2磁化層の磁化方向、第3磁化層の磁化方向および第4磁化層の磁化方向のうち少なくとも1つの磁化方向が他の磁化方向と異なる方向である点に要旨を有する。上記構成を有する歪み測定装置は、第1素子と第2素子から得られた電気抵抗を減算または除算することにより、従来技術に比べ、より正確に歪みを測定することができる。
図1~図12を参照して、歪み測定装置の全体構成について説明する。図1~図8は、基材と、第1素子21と、第2素子22を有する歪み測定装置1の構成例を表している。以下では、歪み測定装置1を単に装置1と称することがある。
装置1は、基材を有している。基材の形状は特に限定されるものではなく、柱状、板状、棒状など種々の形状にすることができるが、例えば、図1~図4に示すように、板状、シート状であることが好ましい。これにより、僅かな歪みであっても検知しやすくすることができる。
基材は、樹脂から構成されていることが好ましい。人体などの動きを感知する用途で装置1を用いる場合は、可撓性を有する素材で構成されていることが好ましい。基材を構成する材料としては、例えば、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート、ポリイミド等を用いることができる。これらの材料は単独で用いてもよく、複数の材料を混合して使用してもよい。
装置1は、例えば、図1に示すように基材10を1つのみ有していてもよいし、図3に示すように第1基材11と第2基材12を有していてもよい。第1基材11と第2基材12とは同じ材料で構成されていてもよいし、異なる材料で構成されていてもよい。
装置1は、第1素子21と第2素子22を有している。第1素子21と第2素子22は基材に形成されている。第1素子21は、第1磁化層21a、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化が第1磁化層21aよりも大きい第2磁化層21cおよび第1磁化層21aと第2磁化層21cの間に配置されている第1スペーサ層21bを有している。第2素子22は、第3磁化層22a、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化が第3磁化層22aよりも大きい第4磁化層22cおよび第3磁化層22aと第4磁化層22cの間に配置されている第2スペーサ層22bを有している。
第1磁化層21a、第2磁化層21c、第3磁性層22aおよび第4磁性層22cは、磁性体で構成されている。第1磁化層21a、第2磁化層21c、第3磁性層22aおよび第4磁性層22cを構成する磁性体としては、例えば、鉄、コバルト、ニッケルなどがあげられる。これらの材料は単独で用いてもよく、複数の材料を混合して用いてもよい。第1磁化層21a、第2磁化層21c、第3磁性層22aおよび第4磁性層22cは同じ材料で構成されていてもよいし、異なる材料で構成されていてもよい。
基材に歪みが加えられたときの第1磁化層21aの磁化方向は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態における第1磁化層21aの磁化方向±10°以内であることが好ましく、±8°以内であることがより好ましく、±5°以内であることがさらに好ましく、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態から変化しないことが特に好ましい。これにより、歪み測定の精度を向上させやすくすることができる。同様に、基材に歪みが加えられたときの第3磁化層22aの磁化方向は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態における第3磁化層22aの磁化方向±10°以内であることが好ましく、±8°以内であることがより好ましく、±5°以内であることがさらに好ましく、基材に歪みが加えられたときの第3磁化層22aの磁化方向は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態から変化しないことが特に好ましい。
第1磁化層21aと第3磁化層22aの磁気弾性結合定数の絶対値は、0MJ/m3に近い値であることが好ましい。第1磁化層21aと第3磁化層22aの磁気弾性結合定数は、0以上0.5MJ/m3以下であることが好ましく、0以上0.3MJ/m3以下であることがより好ましく、0以上0.1MJ/m3以下であることがさらに好ましく、0MJ/m3であることが特に好ましい。
第2磁化層21cと第4磁化層22cの磁気弾性係数の絶対値は、1MJ/m3以上、3MJ/m3以上、5MJ/m3以上等に設定することができる。第2磁化層21cと第4磁化層22cの磁気弾性係数の絶対値の上限値は特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、20MJ/m3等に設定することができる。
上記第1素子21において、第2磁化層21cは第1磁化層21aよりも基材側に配置されていることが好ましい。第1素子21は、基材側から第2磁化層21c、第1スペーサ層21b、第1磁化層21aがこの順に並んでおり、第2磁化層21cと第1スペーサ層21bと第1磁化層21aの間には他の層や部材が配置されていないことがより好ましい。第2磁化層21cが基材側に配置されていることにより、第2磁化層21cに対してより効率的に歪みを伝えやすくすることができるため、歪み測定の精度を向上させやすくすることができる。同様に、第2素子22においては、第4磁化層22cは第3磁化層22aよりも基材側に配置されていることが好ましい。第2素子22は、基材側から第4磁化層22c、第2スペーサ層22b、第3磁化層22aがこの順に並んでおり、第4磁化層22cと第2スペーサ層22bと第3磁化層22aの間には他の層や部材が配置されていないことがより好ましい。
第1スペーサ層21bと第2スペーサ層22bは、例えば、酸化シリコン、窒化シリコン、酸化アルミニウム、酸化マグネシウムなどの絶縁体で構成されていてもよい。これらの材料は単独で用いてもよく、複数の材料を混合して用いてもよい。
第1スペーサ層21bと第2スペーサ層22bは、例えば、白金、銅、タンタル、金などの非磁性金属で構成されていてもよい。これらの材料は単独で用いてもよく、複数の材料を混合して用いてもよい。なお、第1スペーサ層21cと第2スペーサ層22cは同じ材料で構成されていてもよいし、異なる材料で構成されていてもよい。
図1に示すように、第1素子21と第2素子22は、同一の基材10に形成されていてもよい。
図3に示すように、第1素子21が第1基材11に、第2素子22が第2基材12に形成されている構成としても構わない。当該構成とすることで、第1基材11と第2基材12の配置の仕方を調整することにより、第1素子21が有する第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31aおよび第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31cと第2素子22が有する第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cを調整しやすくすることができる。
図示しないが、装置1が素子を2つ以上有する場合は、素子の数と同じ数だけ基材を有し、それぞれの素子を別々の基材上に設ける構成としてもよい。
第1素子21が第1基材11に、第2素子22が第2基材12に形成されている構成とする場合は、予め第1基材11と第2基材12を準備しておき、それぞれの基材に第1素子21と第2素子22を1個ずつ形成してもよい。また、一の基材に第1素子21と第2素子22を形成してから基材を2つに切り離すことで、それぞれの基材に第1素子21と第2素子22を1個ずつ有するものとしてもよい。
図5~図7は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態の、第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cの構成例をそれぞれ矢印で表す図である。ここでは第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cが、いずれも基材の面内方向と平行である場合の例を示している。図5~図7に例示するように、装置1は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cのうち少なくとも1つの磁化方向Nが他の磁化方向Mと異なる方向となるように構成されている。
例えば、図5に示すように、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cのうち1つの磁化方向Nのみが残りの他の磁化方向Mと異なる方向となるように構成されていてもよい。図6および図7に示すように、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cのうち2つの磁化方向Nが残りの2つの磁化方向Mと異なる方向となるように構成されていてもよい。基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cのうち3つの磁化方向Nが残りの1つの磁化方向Mと異なる方向となるように構成されていてもよい。なお、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cは、すべて異なる方向であってもよい。すべて異なる方向とは、即ち、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32aおよび第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cの中で、同じ方向を向いているものがないことを意味する。
なお、上記では図5~図7を用いて説明したが、図5~図7に示したものは例であって、磁化方向はこれに限定されるわけではない。
第1素子21の第1磁化層21aおよび第2磁化層21c、第2素子22の第3磁化層22aおよび第4磁化層22cにおける歪みが加えられていない状態における磁化方向は、通常であれば、磁界中加熱後に冷却するという過程を経て磁化方向が付与されるため、例えば、同一基材上に同時に作製する第1素子21の第1磁化層21aおよび第2磁化層21c、第2素子22の第3磁化層22aおよび第4磁化層22cにおける歪みが加えられていない状態における磁化方向はすべて同じ向きとなる。しかしながら、下記のような方法により、所定の層の磁化方向のみを任意の方向に向けることが可能である。
例えば、上記の方法で2つ以上の素子を同一基材上に一気に形成したのち、特定の素子にのみ電流パルスを加え、磁化を向けたい方向の磁界を印加しながらジュール熱で瞬間加熱し、室温に冷却されるのを待つ方法により実施することが可能である。図5の例であれば、第1素子21の第1磁化層21aにのみ電流パルスを加え、第1磁化層21aの磁化を向けたい方向の磁界を印加しながらジュール熱で瞬間加熱し、室温に冷却されるのを待つことにより任意の磁化方向が付与される。
上述した、他の磁化層Mと磁化方向が異なる少なくとも1つの磁化方向Nは、他の磁化方向Mに対して垂直±15°以内で交わることが好ましく、他の磁化方向Mに対して垂直±10°以内で交わることがより好ましく、他の磁化方向Mに対して垂直±5°以内で交わることがさらに好ましく、他の磁化方向Mに対して垂直に交わることが特に好ましい。これにより、歪み測定の精度を向上させやすくすることができる。
図3、図4に示すように、基材の表面には、第1素子21および第2素子22との接着性を高めるための下地層50を有していてもよい。下地層は、例えば、白金、銅、タンタル、金などの非磁性金属や、酸化シリコン、窒化シリコン、酸化アルミニウム、酸化マグネシウムなどの絶縁体によって構成されていてもよい。これらの材料は単独で用いてもよく、複数の材料を混合して用いてもよい。
図4に示すように、第1素子21および第2素子22は、第1素子21および第2素子22の表面であって、基材側とは反対側の面に、第1素子21および第2素子22を保護するための保護層60を有していてもよい。保護層は、例えば、白金、銅、タンタル、金などの非磁性金属から構成されることができる。これらの材料は単独で用いてもよく、複数の材料を混合して用いてもよい。
装置1は、第1素子21と第2素子22に対して電流を流すための電極40を有していることが好ましい。図1、図2に示すように、第1素子21と第2素子22の側面に電極40が配置されていてもよい。図3、図4に示すように、第1素子21と第2素子22の表面であって基材側とは反対側の面と、下地層50上に電極40が配置されていてもよい。
ここまで、本発明の実施の形態に係る歪み測定装置1について説明した。次に、本発明の実施の形態に係る歪みの測定方法について説明する。
まず、上述した本発明の実施の形態に係る歪み測定装置1を準備する。
次に、準備した歪み測定装置の基材に歪みを加える。図1に示すように、第1素子21と第2素子22とが同一の基材10に形成されている場合は、基材10に対して歪みを加える。図3に示すように、第1素子21が第1基材11に形成されており、第2素子22が第2基材12に形成されている場合は、第1基材11と第2基材12に対して歪みを加える。例えば、図1に示す第1素子21と第2素子22が有する第1磁化層21aの磁化方向31a、第2磁化層21cの磁化方向31c、第3磁化層22aの磁化方向32a、第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cが図7に示す磁化方向であった場合に、図8に示すように基材10に対して矢印Aの方向に引張歪みを加えると、第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cが変化する。第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cが変化すれば、第2素子22における電気抵抗も変化する。図8では第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cが面内方向と平行な面で回転している例を示している。
上述したような磁化方向の変化に伴う電気抵抗の変化を検出するため、歪み測定装置1の第1素子21および第2素子22に電流を印加する。例えば、図1、図2に示す電極40を介して電流を印加することができる。そして、第1素子21および第2素子22における電気抵抗を測定する。例えば、図1、図2に示す電極40を介して電気抵抗を測定することができる。図8に示すように、基材10に対して矢印Aの方向に引張歪みを加えた場合の、第1素子21における電気抵抗の変化を図9に示している。第1素子21が有する第1磁化層21aと第2磁化層21cでは、磁化方向の変化が生じていないため、引張歪みによって生じる電気抵抗の変化のみが現れる。図8に示すように、基材10に対して矢印Aの方向に引張歪みを加え、第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cが変化した場合の、第2素子22における電気抵抗の変化を図10に示している。第2素子22では、第4磁化層22cの磁化方向32cが変化しているため、引張歪みによって生じる電気抵抗の変化と、磁化方向の変化によって生じる電気抵抗の変化が現れる。
上述のようにして測定した第1素子21における電気抵抗と第2素子22における電気抵抗を減算または除算する。上述した例でいえば、第2素子22において測定された電気抵抗から第1素子21において測定された電気抵抗を減算または除算することにより、磁化方向の変化によって生じる電気抵抗の変化を導き出すことができる。第2素子22において測定された電気抵抗から第1素子21において測定された電気抵抗を減算した結果をグラフで表しているのが図11である。これによって、どの程度の歪みが生じているかを測定することができる。上記では測定する歪みの例として引張歪みを挙げたが、測定可能な歪みは引張歪みに限定されることはなく、例えば圧縮歪みであっても構わない。測定対象が圧縮歪みである場合は、基材に対して圧縮歪みが加えられる。
上述の通り、本発明の実施の形態に係る歪みの測定方法は、第1素子21と第2素子22から得られた電気抵抗を減算または除算することにより、従来技術に比べ、より正確に歪みを測定することができる。
上記歪みの測定方法は、第1素子21における電気抵抗と第2素子22における電気抵抗を減算または除算すると同時に増幅するステップを有することが好ましい。上記歪みの測定方法が有するのは、第1素子21における電気抵抗と第2素子22における電気抵抗を減算すると同時に増幅するステップであっても構わない。例えば、図1、図2に示す電極40を介して差動アンプと第1素子21および第2素子22を接続することにより実施することができる。差動アンプ70を備えた具体的な回路図の例を図12に示す。二点鎖線で囲んでいる部分は、三端子ひずみゲージ100である。これにより、磁化方向の変化によって生じる電気抵抗の変化を迅速に導き出すことができるため、歪みの測定をより早く行うことができる。

- 基材と、
基材に形成されており、第1磁化層、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化が前記第1磁化層よりも大きい第2磁化層および前記第1磁化層と前記第2磁化層の間に配置されている第1スペーサ層を有している第1素子と、
基材に形成されており、第3磁化層、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化が前記第3磁化層よりも大きい第4磁化層および前記第3磁化層と前記第4磁化層の間に配置されている第2スペーサ層を有している第2素子と、を有しており、
基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、前記第1磁化層の磁化方向、前記第2磁化層の磁化方向、前記第3磁化層の磁化方向および前記第4磁化層の磁化方向のうち少なくとも1つの磁化方向が他の磁化方向と異なる方向である歪み測定装置。 - 基材に歪みが加えられたときの前記第1磁化層の磁化方向は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態における前記第1磁化層の磁化方向±10°以内であり、基材に歪みが加えられたときの前記第3磁化層の磁化方向は、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態における前記第3磁化層の磁化方向±10°以内である請求項1に記載の歪み測定装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの磁化方向は前記他の磁化方向に対して垂直に交わる請求項1または2に記載の歪み測定装置。
- 前記第1スペーサ層および前記第2スペーサ層は絶縁体で構成されている請求項1または2に記載の歪み測定装置。
- 前記第1スペーサ層および前記第2スペーサ層は非磁性金属で構成されている請求項1または2に記載の歪み測定装置。
- 前記第2磁化層は前記第1磁化層よりも基材側に配置されており、前記第4磁化層は前記第3磁化層よりも基材側に配置されている請求項1または2に記載の歪み測定装置。
- 基材と、基材に形成されており、第1磁化層、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化が前記第1磁化層よりも大きい第2磁化層および前記第1磁化層と前記第2磁化層の間に配置されている第1スペーサ層を有している第1素子と、基材に形成されており、第3磁化層、基材に歪みが加えられたときの磁化方向の変化が前記第3磁化層よりも大きい第4磁化層および前記第3磁化層と前記第4磁化層の間に配置されている第2スペーサ層を有している第2素子と、を有しており、基材に歪みが加えられていない状態において、前記第1磁化層の磁化方向、前記第2磁化層の磁化方向、前記第3磁化層の磁化方向および前記第4磁化層の磁化方向のうち少なくとも1つの磁化方向が他の磁化方向と異なる方向である歪み測定装置を準備するステップと、
基材に歪みを加えるステップと、
前記第1素子および前記第2素子に電流を印加するステップと、
前記第1素子および前記第2素子における電気抵抗を測定するステップと、
前記第1素子における電気抵抗と前記第2素子における電気抵抗を減算または除算するステップと、を有する歪みの測定方法。 - 前記第1素子における電気抵抗と前記第2素子における電気抵抗を減算または除算すると同時に増幅するステップを有する請求項7に記載の歪みの測定方法。
