Definitions
- the invention relates to biodegradable copolymers, processes for their production by means of free-radically initiated polymerization and their use, for example in adhesives or coating materials, in particular in paints, or for the production of textile fabrics, or as binders for building coatings, such as tile adhesives or thermal insulation adhesives.
- petrochemical polymers are ubiquitous in a wide variety of everyday products or packaging materials, but they are also part of coatings and adhesives. Multiple petrochemical polymers are accessible by free-radically initiated polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, such as acrylic acid esters, vinyl chloride or vinyl aromatics.
- ethylenically unsaturated monomers such as acrylic acid esters, vinyl chloride or vinyl aromatics.
- a problem is that conventional petrochemical polymers are generally not biodegradable, nor are they ecologically degraded under natural conditions, and therefore are very durable when disposed of in the environment and pollute the environment. For ecological reasons, there is therefore an attempt to modify petrochemical polymers in such a way that the polymers can be degraded as completely or at least partially as possible biologically or generally under natural conditions and are therefore biodegradable.
- the modified polymers should as far as possible achieve the performance properties of the hitherto established polymers or at least adequately fulfill them.
- the polymers should also be accessible by polymerization in an aqueous medium or by bulk polymerization processes in order to avoid environmental pollution from solvents.
- pages 3471 to 3490 is based on IR spectra, the cationically catalyzed copolymerization of acrylonitrile with 4-methylene-2, 2-dimethyl-1, 3 -Dioxolane, 4-methylene-2-methyl-l, 3-dioxolane or wise 4-methylene-l,3-dioxolane was studied at temperatures ranging from 35 °C and -78 °C. Vinyl polymerization and ring - opening polymerization mechanisms are discussed . Y.
- labile monomers are often already unstable under polymerization conditions and tend to undergo side or degradation reactions, so that it is a challenge to polymerize the labile monomers into the polymers in a targeted manner and as completely as possible.
- Such monomers can also have unfavorable copolymerization properties, so that no copolymers are formed.
- unsaturated heterocycles in particular can have low polymerization rates, which requires long polymerization times and the addition of larger amounts of initiator, which is economically disadvantageous and also leads to low molecular weight polymers, as set out in the abovementioned US Pat. No. 5,541,275.

Description
Bioabbaubare Copolymere
