- the user When the user wishes to perform an ironing session, he fills the water tank 24 and connects the power cord 6 of the charging base 2 to the domestic electrical network, the base 2 preferably being fixed on a ironing board. iron. He then brings the iron 1 onto the base 2 by bringing the rear part 12 cantilevered in the direction of the stopper 23. The iron 1 is then attracted towards the base 2 by the magnetic attraction forces generated by the magnets 75, 85 until the second part 8 of the hydraulic connector is opposite the first part 7 of the connector. In this position, the distance between the two parts 7, 8 of the hydraulic connector is small enough for the force provided by the magnets 75, 85 to allow the iron 1 to be lifted, causing the two parts 7, 8 to automatically couple. of the hydraulic connector and the tilting of the iron 1 into the recharging position. The positioning of the iron 1 in the charging position makes it possible to simultaneously establish the electrical connection between the two parts 107, 108 of the connector and the activation of the presence sensor.
- the insertion of the tapered upper shape of the first part 7 of the hydraulic connector into the cavity of the second part 8 of the connector ensures self-centering of the two parts 7, 8 of the hydraulic connector and, under the effect of the magnetic attraction force and the weight of the iron 1, the finger 72 of the first part 7 pushes the valve 81 inside the connector 8 by compressing the return spring 80.
- a sealed connection is then established between the first part 7 and the second part 8 of the hydraulic connector, this sealed connection being made stable by the magnetic force of attraction.
- the activation of the presence sensor causes the resistor 40 of the body 4 to be supplied and the pump 25 to be activated by the electronic card.
- the actuation of the pump 25 makes it possible to ensure the filling of the first water tank 11 using the water stored in the second water tank 24, the first water tank 11 being equipped with a level sensor which communicates with the electronic card in order to interrupt the operation of the pump 25 when the first tank 11 is full.
- the supply of the resistor 40 generates a rapid rise in temperature of the heating body 4 and of the temperature of the ironing surface 30 which takes place without risk of deterioration of the base 2 and/or of the ironing board given that the ironing surface 30 is then not in contact with the latter.
- an indicator light 13 lights up on the iron to indicate to the user that the iron 1 is ready for use.
- the user can then grasp the handle 10 and exert a downward force at the front end of the handle 11 until the torque exerted is sufficient to separate the second part 8 of the hydraulic connector from the first part. 7 of the connector.
- the iron 1 then tilts along the access ramp 21 away from the stopper 23 and it can be freely moved on the ironing board to carry out the ironing work.
- This disconnection of the iron 1 from the base 2 is then accompanied by the interruption of the electrical supply to the first part 107 of the electrical connector and the closing of the valve 81 of the second part of the hydraulic connector 8 under the effect of the return spring 83.
- the return spring 83 is sized to provide a force guaranteeing perfect sealing of the valve 81 on removal of the iron from the base 2 without this making the hydraulic connection between the first part 107 and second part 108 when placing the iron 1 on the base 2 due to the connection assistance generated by the magnetic attraction.
- the temperature of the heating body 4 will gradually drop until that the temperature of the vaporization chamber 41 no longer allows the production of steam.
- the electronic card of the iron 1 monitors the temperature of the heating element 4 and activates a visual or audible indicator to alert the user to the need to rest the iron 1 on its base 2 when the temperature of the heating body 4 becomes insufficient to effectively carry out the ironing work.
- the ironing device thus produced therefore has the advantage of providing very good ergonomics of use by allowing easy connection and disconnection of the iron on the charging base.
- the magnetic attraction device fitted to such an appliance has the advantage of generating forces which participate in the automatic tilting of the iron into the recharging position and facilitates the establishment of the hydraulic connection.
- the connection aid generated by the magnetic attraction allows the use of a hydraulic connector with a closing valve equipped with a powerful return spring, guaranteeing perfect sealing of the connector when the iron is disconnected from the the base, without this interfering with the establishment of the hydraulic connection when the iron is placed on its base. A reliable system is thus obtained, with a watertight hydraulic connection, without penalizing the ergonomics of use of the iron.
- the location of the hydraulic connector under the rear part of the iron and the electrical connector on the rear side of the rear part of the iron makes it possible to keep these two connections away from each other and to in particular, prevent water from the hydraulic connection from coming into contact with the electrical connector and causing a short circuit.
- the fact that the hydraulic connector is below the level of the electrical connector, when the iron rests on its soleplate or on the base, makes it possible to prevent a drop of water escaping from the hydraulic connector from flowing by gravity onto the electrical connector.
- the device may comprise instead of annular magnets, advantages of less powerful magnets distributed in the base and in the iron so as to obtain the same overall force of attraction.
- advantages of less powerful magnets distributed in the base and in the iron so as to obtain the same overall force of attraction.
