Description

DESCRIPTION DESCRIPTION
TITRE : Parasol comportant une structure souple TITLE: Parasol with a flexible structure
Domaine technique de l’invention Technical field of the invention
The present invention relates to the field of umbrellas.
The invention relates more particularly to a parasol designed to be deployed from a compact storage position.
Arrière-plan technique Technical background
We already know deployable parasols equipped with ribs as on an umbrella and with a mechanism which allows the deployment of the ribs to stretch a fabric canvas, compared to a rigid mast.
This type of parasol is relatively complex to assemble and is particularly fragile in the event of strong winds. Indeed, when the wind is strong, it rushes into the canvas which exerts very significant forces on the whales which end up bending or breaking.
It has already been proposed parasols using a circular closed hoop which allows a sail to be stretched by fixing it on a mast. However, the existing solutions remain fragile and do not resist well in the event of strong winds.

The invention proposes to use at least two associated flexible arches to ensure the tensioning of the sail and the resistance to the wind in the deployed position, while each being sufficiently flexible to allow the protective structure to be folded from its deployed position to to its storage position.
The design according to the invention using at least two flexible tensioning hoops allows numerous combinations of relative arrangements of the different hoops. It also allows different combinations of diameters of the different arches and the flexibility of each arch, for example by adopting different cross-sectional areas for each arch.
Description détaillée de l'invention Detailed description of the invention
For the description of the invention and the understanding of the claims, a vertical orientation along a main axis A1 which corresponds to the direction of the mast, or foot element, of the parasol will be used on a non-limiting basis and without limiting reference to the earth's gravity represented in the figures. Elements will be qualified by the terms axial, transverse, radial with reference to this main axis. In a radial direction, elements will be qualified as interior or exterior depending on whether they are closer or further from the main axis. In the following description, identical, similar or analogous elements will be designated by the same reference numerals.
In Figures 1 and 3, there is shown a parasol 10 according to a first embodiment of the invention. The parasol 10 comprises a foot element 12, or mast, which extends along the main axis A1, here vertical, and a protective structure 14 which is removably or dismountably mounted on the foot element 12.
The foot element 12 can be made in one piece but it is preferably made in several sections assembled together so as to be able to occupy a space-saving storage position.
The foot element 12 comprises an upper axial end 16, on which part of the protective structure 14 is positioned, and a lower axial end 18, which is for example intended to be planted in the ground or to be fixed in a support base (not shown).
The protection structure 14 is preferably provided to protect the users from the sun, but it could also protect them from the rain.
The protective structure 14 is shown in Figure 1 in a deployed position and in Figure 2 in a storage position.
According to this first embodiment, the protective structure 14 comprises an upper part - here in the form of an upper sail 20 - and a lower part - here without limitation in the form of a lower sail 22 associated with a device for tension 38.
In the deployed position, the upper sail 20 and the lower sail 22 are mounted taut on the foot element 12 by means of a first flexible hoop 24 for tensioning, a second flexible hoop 26 for tensioning, and by means of the tension device 38 mounted on the foot element 12 which connects the lower sail 22 to the foot element 12.
Advantageously, each hoop 24, 26 has a closed circular shape, and a circular section.
Les arceaux 24, 26 sont ici concentriques. The arches 24, 26 are here concentric.
Each arch 24, 26 is for example formed of a fiberglass rod making it possible to obtain sufficient rigidity to stretch the sails 20, 22 and sufficient flexibility to be folded in a figure of 8 without breaking. These arches 24, 26 are also thick enough to withstand the wind together without breaking.
Each sail 20, 22 has on its outer peripheral edge 28, 30 a sheath 32, 34 provided to receive the associated hoop 24, 26 and sewn to the associated sail 20, 22.
More particularly, as illustrated by FIG. 3, each sheath 32, 34 is constituted here by a sewn flap 35 formed with the same textile as that constituting the sail 20, 22 and sewn onto the associated sail 20, 22. The two sheaths 32, 34 are therefore here superimposed axially.
Thus, the first hoop 24 is here imprisoned in an upper sheath 32 and the second hoop 26 is here imprisoned in a lower sheath 34. Advantageously, the two sheaths 32, 34 are sewn together along the same line of seam 36 which allows them to be linked to the upper sail 20 and the lower sail 22. This single line of stitching 36 sandwiches the upper sail 20, the lower sail 22, and the sleeves 32, 34.
Preferably, each sheath 32, 34 has an opening 37 which facilitates the introduction of the arch 24, 26. However, each sheath 32, 34 can also be completely closed when an additional piece of fabric comes to cover this opening 37 or in the case where the sheath is formed by two discs sewn one on the other.
The upper sail 20 is here attached to the upper axial end 16 of the foot element 12, for example by means of an eyelet into which the upper axial end 16 is introduced, or by means of a fabric reinforcement or any other suitable element making it possible to retain the crown of the upper sail 20 on the upper part of the foot element 12.
The upper sail 20 is thus stretched, thanks to the foot element, between the upper axial end 16 of the foot element 12 and the arches 24, 26.
The lower sail 22 is here attached to a part of the tensioning device 38 which is itself fixed on the foot element 12 at a height lower than the hoops 24, 26. The lower sail 22 is thus stretched between the tensioning device 38 and the hoops 24, 26.
The tensioning device 38 comprises for example a first element, such as a washer, which is fixed to the lower sail and a second element, such as a button, which is mounted on the foot element 12 and which can be attached to the first element.
As can be seen in the figures, the tensioning device 38 may comprise a series of straps or elastic bands which are for example distributed angularly in a regular manner around the foot element.
Each elastic strap extends between the washer and the radially inner edge of the lower sail 22.
In the case where the lower part does not include a sail as such, the elastic straps extend between the washer and the arch concerned.
The washer may include a slot allowing the button to be blocked therein, in particular in the form of a push button, and thus to be fixed on the foot or mast element 12.
Thus, in the deployed position of Figure 1, the upper sails 20 and lower 22 are stretched so that the upper sail 20 has the overall shape of a cone, or truncated cone, of decreasing diameter upwards and the sail bottom 22 has the overall shape of a cone or truncated cone of decreasing diameter downwards.
Preferably, the tension device 38 is attached to the leg member 12 at a distance from the tip of the upper axial end 16 of the leg member 12, at which the top of the upper sail is positioned. 20, corresponding to at least twice the length between said tip of the foot element 12 and a horizontal plane formed by the arches 24, 26. Advantageously, the ratio between the unfolded diameter of the parasol 10, or of the protective structure 14, and the diameter of the section of each hoop 24, 26 is greater than or equal to 300, and preferably less than 500, so that the hoop 24, 26 can be flexible enough to occupy a storage position by twisting in 8 , and sufficiently rigid to resist the force of the wind in the deployed position of the umbrella 10. In Figure 2 there is a schematic illustration of the different steps implemented to move the protective structure 14 from its deployed and disassembled position, illustrated by step a, to its storage position, illustrated by step f.
Beforehand, the protective structure 14 is therefore detached from the foot element 12, in particular by unhooking it from the tensioning device 38 and by withdrawing it from the axial end 16. The protective structure 14 is then in a configuration deployed and disassembled, as shown in step a in Figure 2.
From this deployed and dismantled position, a twist is exerted by a user on the two hoops 24, 26 in order to form an 8 as illustrated by step b in FIG. 2. Each loop of the 8 is then superimposed on the one on top of the other, as illustrated by step c, until a circle with a diameter approximately equal to half the diameter of the hoops 24, 26 in the deployed position, as illustrated by step d, is obtained.
From the configuration illustrated by step d, a new twist is exerted on the two arches 24, 26 in order to form a figure 8 again, as illustrated by step e. Then each loop of this new 8 is then superimposed on one another, as illustrated by step c, which makes it possible to obtain, in the storage position, a disc-shaped structure of even greater diameter. little.
It is the flexibility and elasticity of the hoops 24, 26 which allows them to pass from the deployed position to the storage position without breaking.
As can be seen in Figure 2, a strap 40 may be provided to maintain the protective structure 14 in its storage position by retaining the two arches 24,26 in the storage position.
This strap 40 can also be fixed to the protective structure 14. The strap 40 is for example sewn onto the outer peripheral edge 28 of the upper sail 20 by a first end and it has a fastening system which makes it possible to fix the other end to the upper sail 20 or to the lower sail 22. The length of the strap 40 is provided to constrain the protective structure 14 in its storage position. To optimize the quantity of fabric used for the manufacture of the sails 20, 22, the upper sail 20 and the lower sail 22 are each made up of two panels of fabric and each sheath 32, 34 is made up of a panel of fabric.
According to a variant embodiment (not shown), the hoops 24, 26 are not arranged at the periphery of each sail 20, 22 but offset inwards so that a piece of fabric of the upper sail 20 and/or bottom 22 can form a fall on the periphery of the umbrella 10. This fall can be used to form storage areas such as storage pockets, or contribute to the aesthetic appearance of the umbrella 10. We will now describe other modes of embodiment of the invention emphasizing the different technical aspects, compared to the first embodiment.
In Figures 4 to 6, there is shown a second embodiment of the invention which differs from the first embodiment in that the two arches 24, 26 intersect.
More particularly, as illustrated in particular by Figure 6, each sleeve 32, 34 comprises two diametrically opposed open sections 42 and each open section 42 of the upper sleeve 32 is superimposed with the open section 42 of the lower sleeve 34.
Each hoop 24, 26 comprises a first section 44 which is inserted into the upper sleeve 32 and a second section 46 which is inserted into the lower sleeve 34, said hoop 24 passing from the upper sleeve 32 to the lower sleeve 34 at the level of each open section 42.
According to a variant embodiment (not shown), the hoops 24, 26 may only intersect on one side. This allows the use of only two sheaths instead of four.
In Figures 7 to 9, there is shown a third embodiment of the invention which differs from the first embodiment in that the two arches 24, 26 are arranged in a single sleeve 32.
Advantageously, the two arches 24, 26 are arranged in a sheath 47, that is to say coated with a layer of protective material which makes it possible in particular to avoid wear by friction between the two arches 24, 26. The advantage of the sheath 47 is that it keeps the hoops 24, 26 in a predefined position. Other arrangements are possible, for example a separate sheath 47 for each hoop 24, 26.
In the third embodiment, the two arches 24, 26 can be of different diameters to be arranged radially in a concentric manner, as illustrated by FIGS. 7 and 8, or of the same diameters to be arranged in a superimposed manner, as illustrated by the FIG. 9. Radially concentric here means the fact that they are side by side, or substantially parallel, but more or less offset along a radius passing through the main axis A1.
In Figures 10 and 11, there is shown a fourth embodiment of the invention which differs from the first embodiment in that the two sleeves 32, 34 are arranged radially concentrically and connected by at least one line common seam 36, between the two sheaths 32, 34. It is understood here that the two hoops 24, 26 are of different and concentric diameters.
It is noted that the upper sail 20 and the lower sail 22 can be sewn with the sleeves 32, 34 on the seam line 36 on a radially inner edge of the pair of sleeves 32, 34, so as to properly stretch the sails 20, 22.
Thus, at least one sail, which is intended to be stretched between at least one of these arches 24, 26 and the foot element 12 when the protective structure occupies its deployed position, is mounted on one of the two hoops, the other of the two hoops being associated with this canvas mounting hoop to resist the force of the wind in the deployed position of the parasol 10.
In FIGS. 12 and 13, a fifth embodiment of the invention has been shown which differs from the first embodiment in that the first hoop 24 has a diameter greater than the diameter of the second hoop 26 so that, in deployed position, the first hoop 24 is arranged at the outer peripheral edge 28 of the upper sail 20 and the second hoop 26 is inserted between the upper axial end 16 and the outer peripheral edge 28 of the upper sail 20. The two arches 24, 26 are thus offset radially along the upper sail 20.
As can be seen in Figure 13, a strip of fabric extends radially between the two sleeves 32 and 34.
According to a preferred example of implementation, the two sails 20 and 22 are sewn at the level of the radially inner sheath 34 and the hoop 26, while a strip of fabric extends radially between the two sheaths 32 and 34 which each house a concentric arch 24, 26 (like the strip shown in Figure 13 of the fifth embodiment).
Ainsi, la structure de protection comporte alors : Thus, the protective structure then comprises:
- une voile supérieure 20 et une voile inférieure 22 ; - an upper sail 20 and a lower sail 22;
- un arceau radialement intérieur 26 et un arceau radialement extérieur 24, les deux arceaux 24, 26 étant de diamètres différents pour être agencés radialement de manière concentrique, décalés suivant un rayon passant par l’axe principal A1 ; - a radially inner arch 26 and a radially outer arch 24, the two arches 24, 26 being of different diameters to be arranged radially concentrically, offset along a radius passing through the main axis A1;
- a strip of fabric, which may not belong to the upper canvas 20, which extends radially between the two radially outer 32 (arch 24) and radially inner 34 (arch 26) sheaths.
According to this embodiment, the two webs 20 and 22 are for example sewn together at the level of the radially inner sheath 34 and of the hoop 26, while the strip of fabric extends radially between the two sheaths 32 and 34.
The radially outer sleeve 32 may be formed by a flap attached to the strip of fabric and the radially inner sleeve 34 may be formed by a flap attached to the upper sail 20 to which it is fixed by a seam which is made at the level of the connection of the periphery of the lower sail 22 with the upper sail 20, this seam thus being common to the fixing of the sheath 34 and the fixing together of the periphery of the two sails 20 and 22.
In Figures 14 to 18, there is shown a sixth embodiment of the umbrella 10 according to the invention which differs from the first embodiment in that the protective structure 14 comprises a third hoop 48. Figures 15 to 18 illustrate several possible variants for the arrangement of the three arches 24, 26, 48 between them.
According to the variant of Figures 15 and 16, the three arches 24, 26, 48 are arranged in three separate sleeves 32, 34, 50, the first two arches 24, 26 are arranged as in the first embodiment while the third arch 48 is offset radially outwards and the third sleeve 50 is interposed axially between the upper sleeve 32 and the lower sleeve 34.
According to the variant of Figure 17, the three arches 24, 26, 48 and the three sleeves 32, 34, 50 are superposed axially.
According to the variant of FIG. 18, the first hoop 24 and the second hoop 26 are radially concentric as in the fourth embodiment (FIGS. 10 and 11) and the third hoop 48 is superposed axially and radially interposed between the first hoop 24 and the second hoop 26.
In Figures 19 to 21, there is shown a seventh embodiment of the umbrella 10 according to the invention which differs from the first embodiment in that the protective structure 14 comprises a third hoop 48 arranged in a spiral on the sail upper 20 so that its first end 52 is close to the upper axial end 16 of the foot element 12 and that its second end 54 is close to the upper outer peripheral edge 28.
The third hoop 48 is here inserted into a third sheath 50 which describes the same spiral shape as the third hoop 48 and which allows the third hoop 48 to describe this spiral shape. The third sheath 50 is for example sewn into the textile forming the upper sail 20. According to a variant embodiment (not shown) of the seventh embodiment, the two peripheral arches 24, 26 can be replaced by a single first arch 24 arranged in a single upper sheath 32. According to a variant embodiment (not shown) which could apply to the various embodiments described above, the foot element 12, and the main axis A1, could be off-center, with respect to the edges outer peripherals 28, 30. The shape of the upper sail 20 and the lower sail 22 should then be adapted.
In general, the invention has been described and is defined in the claims according to a design in which the at least one protective sail is the upper sail and in which the other part of the protective structure ensuring a under tension is a lower part.
Without departing from the scope of the invention, said at least one sail may be a lower sail, while the other part of the protective structure is then an upper tension part.
According to another variant embodiment (not shown), the textile material constituting the upper sail 20 may be different from the material constituting the lower sail 22. For example, one of the sails 20, 22 could be made of a textile material of the type perforated net or alternatively consisting only of elastic straps, or alternatively comprising a part of the sail made of solid or perforated textile material and a part consisting of straps such as, for example, elastic straps.
