Definitions
- the present invention relates to a brake control device compatible with automatic driving.
- control responsibility occurs on the system side at so-called Level 3 or higher, and at Level 3, the driver is responsible for the final operation in the event of a failure. Decisions and control transitions are guaranteed by the system. At Level 4 or higher, the system guarantees all states. Therefore, system components for automated driving must be highly reliable and have redundancy to maintain their functions in the event of a failure.
- Redundancy is also essential for the brake control device so that the vehicle can be reliably decelerated and stopped in the event of a failure.
- unit, second hydraulic control unit) is disclosed.
- the first hydraulic control unit has a first control unit (ECU), and the second hydraulic control unit has a second control unit (ECU).
- ECU first control unit
- ECU second control unit
- a shutoff valve that shuts off communication between the cylinders is controllable from each of the two control units. Therefore, for example, when the first control unit determines that the second hydraulic pressure control unit is malfunctioning, the first control unit controls the shutoff valve in the closing direction so that the master cylinder and the wheel cylinder are connected to each other. communication can be cut off.
- the shutoff valve is installed on the side of the first hydraulic pressure control unit (first control unit).
- first control unit first control unit
- the shutoff valve cannot be controlled in the closing direction, and the discharge hydraulic pressure of the pump in the second hydraulic pressure control unit Therefore, the wheel cylinders of the front wheels FR and FL connected to the first hydraulic pressure control unit together with the wheel cylinders of the rear wheels RL and RR directly connected to the second hydraulic pressure control unit.
- An object of the present invention is to reliably generate wheel cylinder hydraulic pressure for all wheels FR to RR even in the event of such a failure, to enable reliable deceleration and stopping of the vehicle, and to simplify the system configuration for automatic driving.
- the brake control device of the present invention is a brake device mounted on a vehicle, comprising: a first hydraulic unit that supplies brake fluid to at least one first wheel cylinder; a second hydraulic unit that supplies brake fluid to a second wheel cylinder; and a connecting pipe that connects the first hydraulic unit and the second hydraulic unit and circulates the brake fluid,
- the first hydraulic unit has a first shutoff valve that shuts off the flow of the brake fluid to and from the connection pipe, and a first control unit that controls opening and closing of the first shutoff valve.
- the two-hydraulic pressure unit has a second shut-off valve that shuts off the flow of the brake fluid between the connection pipe and a second control unit that controls opening and closing of the second shut-off valve.
- the control section and the second control section respectively open the first shutoff valve and the second shutoff valve when a failure of at least one of the first hydraulic unit and the second hydraulic unit is detected.
- the two hydraulic units and the control section of each unit are separated, even if one of the hydraulic units fails, the other hydraulic unit will not be affected by the failure. Therefore, the hydraulic pressure discharged from the other hydraulic unit can be supplied to the first wheel cylinder and the second wheel cylinder, and the braking force can be ensured, so that higher reliability can be obtained.

Abstract
