- the barcode reading sensor (46) can capture information related to the number of fish in a certain container (2), in addition to the type and amount of feed defined for a certain container (2).
- the central processing unit (8) uses the data sent by the second processing unit (19) from the feeding platform (6) to compute the actual position of a container (2), for example a tank, and adjusting the position on the x-Cartesian axis of the locomotion platform (4) along the horizontal linear rail (9) and also adjusting the position of the feeding platform (6) on the z-Cartesian axis.
- the second processing unit (19) of the feed platform (6) transmits instructions for the motor of the feed platform (42) to move the rack (17) back and forth along the Cartesian axis y of the robot (3 ), so that a food intake hole (66) arranged in the container (2) is reached.
- the robot (3) is configured to feed animal containment containers (2), namely tanks or aquariums with fish, arranged on a shelf (1), in which the containers (2) are stacked on said shelf (1), for example in a matrix arrangement of rows and columns.
- the feeding circuit of the automated device for controlled feeding of substances to animal containment containers in an animal husbandry facility is configured to deliver food and nutrients in liquid and/or solid form.
- the dry feed circuit (21) is configured to operate particularly with granulated substances, for example with fish feed in granulated form.
- granulated substances for example with fish feed in granulated form.
- the type of substance to be fed and its physical form for example the size of the particles, is a function of the type, size and specimens present in the container (2).
- the liquid supply circuit (22) is configured to operate particularly with substances solubilized or suspended in a given liquid medium, for example a suspension of living organisms, namely hatched brine shrimp and daphnia.
- the dry feed circuit (21) can have different dry feed packaging capacities, and may include one or more dry feed substance reservoirs (47) containing the same type of feed, in the case where all the containers (2) of the shelf (1) are stored with the same type of supply.
- the dry feed circuit (21) may comprise reservoirs of dry feed substances (47) with different types of feed.
- the dry feed substance reservoirs (47) are installed on the locomotion platform (4).
- the dry feed substance reservoirs (47) can be filled manually through an opening arranged at the top of each reservoir (47).
- the dry feed circuit (21) of the feed circuit (7) comprises a dry feed substance reservoir (47); a motor (48) configured to move a dry substance feed portion to a dry substance firing chamber (49); and a compressed air circuit (50) configured to direct said dry substance feed portion from the dry substance firing chamber (49) to the feed head (43).
- Figure 15 shows a type of dry supply circuit (21) with a reservoir of dry feed substances (47), and at the bottom of each reservoir (47) is installed a motor (48), which is configured to deliver a predetermined amount of feed to a dry substance firing chamber (49).
- the amount of feed is a multiple of a previously defined value, and may vary depending on the amount, age and number of specimens, for example fish, present in the reservoir (2).
- This set of feeding parameters can be made available and considered by means of a bar code label, which is read by the bar code reading sensor (46).
- the feed that is directed to the dry substance shooting chamber (49) is forced to a tube of the feed head (43), by means of a compressed air circuit (50), being projected through the feed inlet orifice. (66) arranged in the container (2).

- the compressed air tank (51) is pressurized by means of a compressed air compressor (52).
- the pressure sensor (53) is used to measure and regulate the pressure of the compressed air circuit (50).
- a non-return valve (63) may be used to prevent compressed air from returning from the compressed air tank (51) to the compressed air compressor (52) when the latter is turned off. In this way, the compressed air tank (51) stores compressed air, which allows the feed packaged in the dry substance shooting chamber (49) to be driven to the feed head (43), when the pneumatic valve (54) is activated, that is, open.
- the dry feed circuit (21) is controlled by a feed circuit controller (7), which manages the pressure in the compressed air circuit (50) and controls the amount of feed removed from each reservoir (47), in addition to to activate or deactivate the pneumatic valve (54) in order to direct the desired amount of feed to the feed head (43).

- the liquid supply circuit (22) of the supply circuit (7) comprises a system for homogenizing the supply liquid substance reservoir (56), for example an air pump (57) and an air diffuser (65). Homogenization is relevant in the case where the liquid feed is a suspension of food rather than a homogeneous solution of food, such as in the case of dispersions with live organisms used as food sources.
- the use of the air pump (57) is particularly preferred, as it helps to maintain the vital conditions of said organisms.
- the device and the system according to the invention can be used to provide automated feeding to different types of animals packed in containers (2), namely fish used as model organisms in scientific studies, for example the Danio rerio species.
- the present invention can be used in the creation of other specimens used for experimental purposes, as per the non-limiting examples: Danionella translucent , Devarium aequipinnatus , Nothobranchius furzeri , Oryzias latipes and even Xenopus spp .
