Definitions
- the present invention relates to a substrate-less double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet and a laminate using the same.
- a polarizing plate formed by laminating a protective film on one or both sides of a polarizer is an optical member used in image display devices such as liquid crystal display devices and organic electroluminescence (organic EL) display devices.
- An optical member such as a polarizing plate is often used by bonding it to another member (for example, an optical member such as a liquid crystal cell in a liquid crystal display device) via an adhesive layer.
- This pressure-sensitive adhesive layer may be obtained from a substrate-less double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet.
- a substrate-less double-sided PSA sheet generally has a release film with relatively low release force (light release film) laminated on one side of an adhesive layer that does not have a core substrate, and the other side of the adhesive layer. It has a structure in which a release film having a relatively high release force (heavy release film) is laminated on one surface.
- the easy release film is usually peeled off from the substrate-less double-sided adhesive sheet, and the exposed adhesive layer surface is then attached to one of the optical components. After combining, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer surface exposed by peeling off the heavy release film is laminated on the other optical member, and the optical members are bonded together.
- the release force difference between the light release film and the heavy release film laminated on both sides of the substrate-less double-sided PSA sheet is small, when the light release film of the substrate-less double-sided PSA sheet is peeled off, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer Part of the film follows the light release film, stretches between the heavy release film and the light release film, then breaks and transfers to the light release film side. be.
- the optical members do not adhere to each other in the first place. There arises a problem that the optical characteristics of the optical member are degraded.
