Definitions
- the present invention relates to a toilet bowl.
- a toilet bowl made of ceramic material is in the document
- EP 3 412 840 B1 described. It comprises a toilet body and a toilet bowl without flushing rim formed therein.
- a flushing water connection and a flushing water line connected to it and running along one side of the toilet bowl are integrated in the toilet bowl and have a flushing water outlet opening which opens into the toilet bowl at the side or at the front.
- the flushing water line runs in a curve that is hidden from view between an outer paneling wall and the wall of the toilet bowl. Flushing water emerging from the flushing water outlet flows in a circular and spirally downward movement in the circumferential direction of the toilet bowl into a siphon and from there into the waste water system. The spiral downward movement of the flushing water is supported by guide surfaces formed in the toilet bowl.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a toilet bowl which is characterized by good flushing performance and low noise.
- the invention relates to a toilet bowl as specified by the features of the independent patent claim. Further advantageous aspects of the toilet bowl according to the invention result from the features of the dependent patent claims.
- the toilet bowl comprises a bowl body and a mounting body integral with this, the bowl body having an inner wall which defines an interior space.
- An inlet port for flushing water and an outlet port for waste water are formed in the mounting body.
- the toilet bowl has an inlet channel for flushing water, which is connected to the inlet connection in a communicating manner, which inlet channel has an outlet opening which opens into the interior of the bowl body, wherein the outlet opening is arranged and oriented in a lateral area of the inner wall in such a way that flushing water emerging from it flows in the circumferential direction and forwards tangentially along the inner wall.
- Formed on the inner wall is a spiraling downward first baffle which directs flushing water downward in a spiraling path.
- a canopy is formed on the inner wall along a part of its periphery, which canopy is arranged in the circumferential direction of the inner wall adjacent to the outlet opening.
- the second baffle is preferably located below the canopy and above the first baffle.
- the toilet bowl is formed entirely of a sanitary ceramic material.
- the lateral tangential introduction of rinsing water into the interior of the rinsing body according to the invention and the special design of the inner wall of the rinsing body with the roof and the spirally wound first guide surface and the circumferential second guide surface result in a spiral flushing water path which, on the one hand, ensures a high flushing performance and, on the other hand, a very low noise level guaranteed.
- the peripheral second guide surface ensures that at least part of the flushing water is distributed over the entire circumference of the toilet bowl. As a result, upper areas of the inner wall and areas furthest away from the outlet opening in the circumferential direction are also wetted with flushing water and cleaned. Because the toilet bowl is made entirely of ceramic material, i.e. has no inserts made of other materials such as plastic, the toilet bowl is hygienically advantageous because there are no seams between the ceramic and insert parts where dirt that is difficult to remove could collect.
- the second guide surface runs horizontally in the circumferential direction or is inclined slightly downwards.
- An angle of inclination in the range from 0.5 degrees to 5 degrees, for example around 1 degree to 2 degrees, for the second guide surface has proven to be advantageous.
- a slight downward inclination can also support a circumferential flushing water flow on the second guide surface.
- the outlet opening is located at an angular position in the range of 30 degrees to 100 degrees.
- the angular position refers to an angular coordinate system that is defined by a vertical longitudinal center plane, which divides the toilet bowl in the middle into a left and a right part, and a coordinate origin axis, which represents the intersection of the longitudinal center plane with a vertical transverse center plane, which transverse center plane defines the interior of the Divides the center of the bowl body into a front and a rear part, with angular positions in the angular coordinate system being defined as angular distances from a part of the longitudinal center plane located behind the transverse center plane.
- the outlet opening is arranged at an angular position in the range from 40 degrees to 80 degrees, in particular in a range from 50 degrees to 70 degrees, for example about 65 degrees.
- the range from 50 degrees to 70 degrees has proven to be optimal in terms of flow technology.
- the canopy starts at an angular position in the range of the angular position of the outlet opening and preferably extends to an angular position in the range from 160 degrees to 350 degrees, again referring to said angular coordinate system.
- the canopy extends to an angular position in the range 180 degrees to 330 degrees, more preferably 200 degrees to 310 degrees, most preferably 285 degrees to 300 degrees.
- the second guide surface begins at an angular position in the range from 120 degrees to 250 degrees, preferably 150 degrees to 220 degrees, in particular 160 degrees to 180 degrees and preferably extends to an angular position in the range from 340 degrees to 400 degrees 360 degrees to 380 degrees, again referring to the angular coordinate system mentioned.
- the canopy has a maximum radial depth in the range of 1-5 cm, preferably 2-4 cm, the radial depth preferably decreasing continuously in the circumferential direction of the inner wall. In particular, an end portion of the canopy decreases continuously. This ensures the function of the roofing.
- a radial depth of the canopy is preferably constant except for a continuously decreasing end portion.
- the radial depth of a canopy can also vary, for example it can be widened in a front area of a bowl.
- the second guide surface has a maximum radial depth in the range of 0.5-4 cm, preferably 1-3 cm, with the radial depth preferably decreasing continuously in the circumferential direction of the inner wall. This ensures that all flushing water guided on the second guide surface is continuously guided downwards.
- the continuous design of the second guide surface also contributes to a more aesthetic appearance of the toilet bowl.
- a radial depth of the second guide surface is preferably constant except for a continuously decreasing end area.
- a siphon is formed in the lowest part of the toilet bowl, which siphon connects the interior of the bowl body to the outlet connection via a drainage channel formed in the mounting body.
- the mounting body has a flat rear mounting surface.
- the toilet bowl When assembled, the toilet bowl is mounted on a wall with the mounting surface.
- the inlet connection and the outlet connection are preferably offset inwards by a maximum of 8 cm with respect to the flat mounting surface of the mounting body. This creates assembly tolerances and space for sealing parts, for example. Certain standards require a minimum distance of approx. 15mm to the rear wall. Accordingly is the Inlet port preferably offset 1-8 cm, more preferably 3-7 cm inboard of a rear mounting surface.
- the inlet duct comprises a first and a second duct section, the first duct section being formed in the mounting body and the second duct section being formed in the curved inner wall of the bowl body.
- the second channel section is formed on the one hand by an elongated cavity formed in the inner wall and on the other hand by a lid-like garnish made of a sanitary ceramic material, which garnish covers the cavity from the interior of the bowl body and which is seamlessly inserted into the inner wall. In this way, a curved channel section within the inner wall can be realized comparatively easily in terms of manufacturing technology.
- the first, tubular channel section has a preferred length of 10-20 cm, preferably 12-15 cm.
- the length of the second curved channel from section extends to the outlet opening.
- the first tubular duct section has a preferred diameter of 30-40 cm, for example 34 cm.
- the second curved channel section is preferably rectangular in shape and has a preferred height of 30-40 cm, for example 34 cm.
- a height of the second channel from the section is preferably approximately the same size as the diameter of the first channel section.

- the mounting body 102 two mounting holes 105 for mounting the toilet bowl on a wall are arranged. Furthermore, an inlet port 110 and an outlet port 115 are formed in the mounting body 102 .
- the inlet port 110 is used to connect to an on-site flushing water supply pipe, not shown, and the outlet port 115 is used to connect to an on-site waste water discharge pipe, also not shown.
- the inlet port 110 and the outlet port 115 are offset slightly inward (forward) from the flat mounting surface 103 of the mounting body 102 .
- This inward offset denoted by 211 in the sectional view of FIG. 4, is a few centimeters, preferably more than 15 mm and at most about 8 cm and creates assembly tolerances and space for seals to the waste water discharge pipe.
- the bowl body 102 of the toilet bowl 100 is double-walled in a manner known per se in its front and side areas and has an outer wall 106 and an inner wall 107, the inner wall 107 connecting to the outer wall 106 on the upper side of the toilet bowl by a substantially flat Ring surface are connected, which forms the support surface 104 already mentioned.
- the double-walled design of the bowl body 102 can be seen in particular in the sectional view of FIG.
- the interior space 109 of the toilet bowl 100 is generally formed as a downwardly narrowing funnel, with the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl forming the interior space varying along the inner periphery of the toilet bowl runs steeply and has various additional training courses, which will be discussed in more detail later.
- a siphon 116 is formed, which is formed by the lowermost portions of the inner wall 107, a curved bottom part 108 of the toilet bowl and a drainage channel 117 formed in the mounting body 102 of the toilet bowl and the inner space 109 of the toilet bowl 100 with the outlet connection 115 connects.
- FIG. 3 in which an angular coordinate system is shown, to which the position and extension ranges of various design details of the toilet bowl relate. According to Fig.

- standing transverse center plane 202 divides the interior of the toilet bowl 100 in the middle into a front and a rear part, with the front and rear facing the viewing direction again from the front to the back of the toilet bowl.
- a vertical line of intersection of the two center planes 201 and 202 forms a coordinate origin axis denoted by 203 for various angle specifications, which will be discussed in more detail below.

- toilet bowl in a mirror-inverted manner with respect to the longitudinal center plane, in which case all angles would then be measured counterclockwise.
- the toilet bowl 100 has an inlet channel for flushing water composed of a first and a second channel section 111 and 112, respectively.
- the first channel portion 111 is in the shape of a straight tube and extends straight forward from the inlet port 110 to just forward of the rear (first and fourth quadrants) of the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl.
- the length of the tubular first channel section 111 is about 10-20 cm, preferably 12-15 cm.
- the second channel section 112 is formed in the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl and follows the curvature thereof in the circumferential direction.
- the second channel section 112 is arranged at least for the most part in the first quadrant and has an outlet opening 113 at its end, which opens into the interior space 109 of the toilet bowl.
- the first, straight channel section 111 runs essentially horizontally, the second, curved channel section 112 runs slightly downwards, so that the outlet opening 113 is slightly lower than the first channel section 111. Flushing water supplied through the inlet connection 110 flows through the two communicating channel sections 111 and 112 into the interior 109 of the
- the outlet opening 113 is configured and oriented such that the flushing water exiting it flows tangentially and (initially) substantially horizontally along the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl in a forward direction.
- Angle coordinate system according to the example of Fig. 3 is in the range of approx. 65 degrees.
- the height of the second, curved duct from section 112 is preferably approximately the same size as the diameter of the first duct section, so that the flushing water can flow through the inlet duct as unhindered as possible.
- the bowl body 102 does not have a traditional flushing rim. This means that on the inner wall 107 along its upper edge there is no undercut which is open towards the bottom and which is usually difficult to clean.
- an inwardly projecting canopy 120 is formed on the inner wall 107, which prevents flushing water from spilling upwards over the support surface 104 or the upper edge of the toilet bowl.
- the beginning of the canopy 120 begins at the angular position of the outlet port 113, so is also at an angular position in the range of about 65 degrees, depending on. In this example, the beginning of the canopy 120 immediately follows the angular position of the outlet opening 113 .
- the beginning of the canopy 120 and the outlet end of the second channel from section 112 can also overlap somewhat in the circumferential direction, i.e. the beginning of the canopy 120 can also lie in front of the outlet opening 113 in the circumferential direction.
- the canopy 120 is preferably never located after the outlet port 113 relative to one
- the end of the canopy 120 is at an angular position on the order of about 295 degrees.
- the radial depth 212 (relative to the coordinate origin axis 203) of the canopy 120 (FIG. 4) may be constant over its entire angular range, but preferably decreases towards the end, that is, the canopy becomes less pronounced towards its end.
- the maximum radial depth of the roof is approx. 25mm
- the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl 100 has a mostly circumferential first guide surface 122 which is relatively flat in the area of the first quadrant, ie is slightly inclined and whose steepness increases continuously up to the fourth quadrant.
- the first guide surface 122 is lower in the second quadrant than in the first quadrant, in the third lower than in the second quadrant and in the fourth quadrant lower than in the third quadrant.
- fin 122 imparts the interior wall 107 of the toilet bowl in the shape of a descending spiral which causes flush water flowing along the first fin of the interior wall to travel downward in a spiral path.
- the steepness of the first guide surface 122 which varies over the circumference, can best be seen from the sectional view in FIG.
- the second guide surface 124 On the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl, somewhat below the roof 120 and above the guide surface 122, there is also a shoulder-like second guide surface 124 that runs around for the most part. Seen in the circumferential direction, the start of the second guide surface 124 is at an angular position in the range of approximately 170 degrees. The second fin 124 and the canopy 120 overlap in the circumferential direction. The end of the second vane 124 is at an angular position in the range of 360 degrees.
- the radial depth 213 (with respect to the coordinate origin axis 203) of the second guide surface 124 can be constant in the circumferential direction, but preferably it decreases, in particular towards the end of the second guide surface 124, preferably continuously, i.e.
- the second guide surface 124 becomes narrower towards its end.
- the maximum radial depth of the second guide surface 124 is approximately 13 mm.
- the second vane 124 may be horizontal throughout its length, but is preferably sloped slightly downward toward its end, preferably at an angle of 1 degree.
- the circumferential second guide surface 124 ensures that flushing water does not immediately flow down the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl, but instead distributes at least part of the flushing water over the entire circumference of the toilet bowl. As a result, upper areas of the inner wall 107 and those furthest away from the outlet opening 113 in the circumferential direction are also wetted with flushing water and cleaned.
- the rear part of the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl 100 located in the area of the first and fourth quadrants, forms an odor bar with its deepest area.
- This is designed in such a way that the transition 118 into the siphon 116 has a round, in particular circular, cross section.
- the flushing water vortex that occurs in the toilet bowl is carried further into the siphon and the flushing performance is significantly improved.
- a further essential feature of the toilet bowl according to the invention is that it is made in one piece completely from sanitary ceramic material and consequently has no insert parts made from other materials, such as, for example, a flush water distributor made from plastic. This is advantageous from a hygienic point of view, but due to the curved second channel section 112 of the flushing water inlet channel formed in the inner wall 107 , it places greater demands on the manufacturing technology.
- the second channel section 112 is first formed as an inwardly open, elongated cavity in the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl (Fig. 7) and that the inwardly open side of this cavity is then covered by a lid-like Garnish piece 130 (Fig. 8) made of sanitary ceramic material is covered.
- the garnish is inserted with a precise fit into a correspondingly shaped recess 131 in the inner wall 107 .
- the garnish 130 is shaped in such a way that it fits seamlessly into the inner wall 107 of the toilet bowl and conforms to the shape of the inner wall.
- the toilet bowl is dried, glazed and fired together with the garnish.
- the toy item can then no longer be recognized visually as a separate element.
- the inventive design of the flushing water supply and the inner wall of the toilet bowl with roof, guide surface and shoulder causes a particularly efficient flushing process with the least noise.
- the formation of the toilet bowl entirely from ceramic material is advantageous from a hygienic point of view.
- the inner cross-section of the toilet bowl can also be circular instead of oval.
