Description

공구용 강재 및 그 제조방법
본 발명은 공구용 강재 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이며, 상세하게는 열처리성이 개선된 공구용 강재 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 강재의 물성 중 경도와 가공성은 양립되기 어려운 물성으로 널리 알려져 있다. 강재의 강도 상승은 경도 상승을 유발하는 반면, 강재의 강도가 높아지는 경우, 강재의 가공성이 열위해지는 특성을 나타내기 때문이다.
공구용 부품의 제작에 이용되는 공구용 강재의 경우, 부품 형상으로의 제작 시 우수한 가공성을 요구하는 반면, 최종 가공 후의 부품은 내마모 및 내충격 특성 등을 확보하기 위하여 높은 경도를 요구한다. 특히, 공구용 부품의 제작에 이용되는 공구용 강재의 경우, 일정 수준 이상의 경도 및 강도 확보를 위하여 상대적으로 다량의 탄소(C)를 함유하는 강재를 주로 이용하므로, 목적하는 수준의 가공성 확보가 용이하지 않은 실정이다.
공구용 강재의 경우, 구상화 소둔을 통해 강재의 가공성을 확보한 후 부품 형상으로 가공하며, 이후 담금질을 통해 강재에 마르텐사이트 조직을 도입하여 경도를 확보하는 방식이 일반적으로 이용된다. 구상화 소둔은 라멜라 펄라이트 내의 판상의 세멘타이트를 구형으로 만들기 위하여 고온에서 가열하는 열처리로서, 목적하는 수준의 가공성 확보를 위해서는 장시간이 소요된다. 산업적으로는 A1 온도 이하에서 장시간 유지하는 방법이 주로 이용되나, 고온에서 장시간의 열처리는 경제성 및 생산성 저하를 필연적으로 수반하게 된다,
특허문헌 1은 무소둔 냉간압연을 통해 라멜라 펄라이트 조직을 가지는 강판에서 세멘타이트의 구상화를 촉진하는 방안을 제안하나, 특허문헌 1의 강판은 탄소(C)의 함량이 0.6중량% 이하의 수준에 불과하여 공구용 강재로서 적합한 경도를 제공할 수 없다. 특허문헌 2는 구상화 탄화물 조직을 제어하기 위해 A1 직상의 온도에서 1차 소둔 열처리를 실시한 후 약 650℃의 온도에서 2차 소둔 열처리를 실시하는 방안을 제안하지만, 이와 같은 가열 조건은 통상적인 가열로에서 구현하기가 어려운 측면이 있다.
따라서, 공구용으로 적합한 경도를 가지면서도, 구상화 소둔의 열처리성이 개선된 강재에 대한 연구 및 개발이 필요한 실정이다.

본 발명의 한 가지 측면에 따르면, 0.8중량% 이상의 탄소(C)를 포함하여 고경도 특성을 확보하면서도 구상화 소둔의 열처리성이 개선되어 공구용으로 적합한 강재 및 그 제조방법이 제공될 수 있다.
본 발명의 과제는 상술한 내용에 한정되지 않는다. 통상의 기술자라면 본 명세서의 전반적인 내용으로부터 본 발명의 추가적인 과제를 이해하는데 아무런 어려움이 없을 것이다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재는, 중량%로, 탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%, 실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%, 망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%, 크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%, 인(P): 0.03% 이하, 황(S): 0.005% 이하, 나머지 철(Fe) 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하고, 펄라이트를 기지조직으로 포함하며, 두께 중심부에서, {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값이 1.8 이상이고, {332}<113> 결정 방위의 극밀도가 2.0 이상일 수 있다. 여기서, 상기 두께 중심부는 강재의 단면 관찰 시, 강재 두께(t, mm)에 대해 3/8t 내지 5/8t 범위 이내의 영역을 의미한다.

본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재의 제조방법은, 중량%로, 탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%, 실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%, 망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%, 크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%, 인(P): 0.03% 이하, 황(S): 0.005% 이하, 나머지 철(Fe) 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하는 슬라브를 1000~1300℃의 온도범위에서 재가열하는 단계; 상기 재가열된 슬라브를 850~1150℃의 온도범위에서 열간압연하는 단계; 및 상기 열간압연된 강재를 30~50%의 압하율로 무소둔 냉간압연하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 과제의 해결 수단은 본 발명의 특징을 모두 열거한 것은 아니며, 본 발명의 다양한 특징과 그에 따른 장점과 효과는 아래의 구체적인 구현예를 참조하여 보다 상세하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 의하면, 고경도 특성을 가지면서도 구상화 소둔의 열처리성이 개선되어 공구용으로 적합한 강재 및 그 제조방법을 제공할 수 있다.
본 발명의 효과는 전술한 사항에 국한되는 것은 아니며, 통상의 기술자가 아래에 기재된 사항으로부터 유추 가능한 기술적 효과를 포함하는 것으로 해석될 수 있다.

본 발명은 공구용 강재 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 이하에서는 본 발명의 바람직한 구현예들을 설명하고자 한다. 본 발명의 구현예들은 여러 가지 형태로 변형될 수 있으며, 본 발명의 범위가 아래에서 설명되는 구현예들에 한정되는 것으로 해석되어서는 안된다. 본 구현예들은 당해 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가지는 자에게 본 발명을 더욱 상세하기 위하여 제공되는 것이다.
이하, 본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재에 대해 보다 상세히 설명한다.
본 발명의 공구용 강재는, 중량%로, 탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%, 실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%, 망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%, 크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%, 인(P): 0.03% 이하, 황(S): 0.005% 이하, 나머지 철(Fe) 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하고, 펄라이트를 기지조직으로 포함하며, 두께 중심부에서, {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값이 1.8 이상이고, {332}<113> 결정 방위의 극밀도가 2.5 이상일 수 있다.
여기서, 상기 두께 중심부는 강재의 단면 관찰 시, 강재 두께(t, mm)에 대해 3/8t 내지 5/8t 범위 이내의 영역을 의미한다.
이하, 본 발명의 합금조성에 대해 보다 상세히 설명한다. 이하, 특별히 달리 표시하지 않는 한 합금조성과 관련하여 기재된 %는 중량%를 의미한다.
탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%
탄소(C)는 대표적인 경화능 향상 원소로, 본 발명에서는 담금질 후 경도 확보를 위하여 필수적으로 첨가되는 원소이다. 따라서, 본 발명은 이와 같은 효과를 위해 0.8% 이상의 탄소(C)를 포함할 수 있다. 바람직한 탄소(C) 함량은 0.8% 초과일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 탄소(C) 함량은 0.82% 이상일 수 있다. 반면, 강 내 탄소(C) 함량이 일정 범위를 초과하는 경우, 강 중 세멘타이트 분율이 지나치게 높아져 취성파괴를 조장할 우려가 있으므로, 본 발명은 탄소(C) 함량의 상한을 1.0%로 제한할 수 있다. 바람직한 탄소(C) 함량은 1.0% 미만일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 탄소(C) 함량은 0.98% 이하일 수 있다.
실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%
실리콘(Si)는 강의 강도 향상에 기여하는 성분이므로, 본 발명은 이와 같은 효과 달성을 위해 0.1% 이상의 실리콘(Si)을 포함할 수 있다. 바람직한 실리콘(Si) 함량의 하한은 0.12%일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 실리콘(Si) 함량의 하한은 0.15%일 수 있다. 다만, 강 중 실리콘(Si) 함량이 일정 범위를 초과하는 경우, 냉간압연성이 열위해질 뿐만 아니라, 열처리 시 탈탄 가능성이 커지며, 강재 표면에 스케일 결함의 증가를 유발할 수 있으므로, 본 발명은 실리콘(Si) 함량의 상한을 0.3%로 제한할 수 있다. 바람직한 실리콘(Si) 함량의 상한은 0.28%일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 실리콘(Si) 함량의 상한은 0.25%일 수 있다.
망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%
망간(Mn)은 경화능 향상에 기여하는 원소일 뿐만 아니라, 고용강화에 의한 소재의 강도 향상에 효과적으로 기여하는 원소이다. 또한, 망간(Mn)은 강 중의 황(S)과 결합하여 MnS로 석출되므로, 황(S)에 의한 적열취성을 효과적으로 방지할 수 있다. 본 발명은 이와 같은 효과 달성을 0.3% 이상의 망간(Mn)을 포함할 수 있다. 바람직한 망간(Mn) 함량의 하한은 0.32%일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 망간(Mn) 함량의 하한은 0.35%일 수 있다. 다만, 강 중 망간(Mn) 함량이 일정 범위를 초과하는 경우, 냉간압연성이 열위해질 뿐만 아니라, 중심편석에 의한 가공성 저하가 문제될 수 있는바, 본 발명은 망간(Mn) 함량의 상한을 0.5%로 제한할 수 있다. 바람직한 망간(Mn) 함량의 상한은 0.48%일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 망간(Mn) 함량의 상한은 0.45%일 수 있다.
크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%
크롬(Cr)은 망간(Mn)과 마찬가지로 경화능 향상에 효과적으로 기여하는 원소이다. 따라서, 본 발명은 이와 같은 효과를 위하여 0.1% 이상의 크롬(Cr)을 포함할 수 있다. 바람직한 크롬(Cr) 함량의 하한은 0.13%일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 크롬(Cr) 함량의 하한은 0.16%일 수 있다. 다만, 강 중 크롬(Cr) 함량이 일정 범위를 초과하는 경우, 냉간압연성이 저하될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 열처리에 의한 세멘타이트의 분해가 지연되어 구상화 소둔에 의하더라도 탄화물의 구상화가 완료되지 않을 가능성이 존재한다. 따라서, 본 발명은 크롬(Cr) 함량의 상한을 0.3%로 제한할 수 있다. 바람직한 크롬(Cr) 함량의 상한은 0.28%일 수 있으며, 보다 바람직한 크롬(Cr) 함량의 상한은 0.25%일 수 있다.
인(P): 0.03% 이하 (0% 포함)
강 중 인(P)은 대표적인 불순물 원소이나, 성형성을 크게 해치지 않으면서도 강도 확보에 가장 유리한 원소이기도 하다. 다만, 인(P)이 과도하게 첨가되는 경우, 취성파괴 가능성이 증가하여 열간압연 도중 슬라브의 판파단을 유발할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 도금강판의 표면 특성을 크게 저하시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 본 발명은 인(P) 함량의 상한을 0.03%로 제한할 수 있다.
황(S): 0.005% 이하 (0% 포함)
황(S)은 강 중에 불가피하게 유입되는 불순물 원소로서, 가능한 한 그 함량을 낮게 관리하는 것이 바람직하다. 특히, 강 중 황(S)은 적열 취성을 유발할 수 있으므로, 본 발명은 황(S) 함량의 상한을 0.005%로 제한할 수 있다.
본 발명의 공구용 강재는 전술한 성분 이외에 나머지 Fe 및 기타 불가피한 불순물을 포함할 수 있다. 다만, 통상의 제조과정에서는 원료 또는 주위 환경으로부터 의도되지 않는 불순물이 불가피하게 혼입될 수 있으므로, 이를 전면적으로 배제할 수는 없다. 이들 불순물은 본 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 누구라도 알 수 있는 것이기 때문에 그 모든 내용을 본 명세서에서 특별히 언급하지는 않는다. 더불어, 전술한 성분 이외에 유효한 성분의 추가적인 첨가가 전면적으로 배제되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재는 펄라이트 기지조직에 기타 잔부조직을 포함하는 미세조직으로 이루어질 수 있다. 펄라이트는 본 발명이 목적하는 물성을 확보하기 위한 필수 조직으로, 펄라이트의 바람직한 분율은 90면적% 이상일 수 있다. 기타 잔부조직으로서 초석 페라이트와 베이나이트 및 마르텐사이트 등의 저온조직을 포함할 수 있다. 초석페라이트가 과도한 경우 경도가 낮아질 뿐만 아니라, 입계 파괴가 조장되어 가공성이 열위해질 수 있는바, 초석 페라이트의 분율은 10면적% 이하(0% 포함)로 제한할 수 있다. 경질의 베이나이트 및 마르텐사이트 등은 가공성 측면에서 바람직하지 않으므로, 베이나이트 및 마르텐사이트 등의 경질조직의 분율은 3면적% 미만(0% 포함)으로 제한할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재는, 강재의 두께 중심부에서 측정한 {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값이 1.8 이상이고, 강재의 두께 중심부에서 측정한 {332}<113> 결정 방위의 극밀도가 2.5 이상일 수 있다. 바람직하게는, 강재의 두께 중심부에서 측정한 {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값이 1.9 이상일 수 있으며, 강재의 두께 중심부에서 측정한 {332}<113> 결정 방위의 극밀도가 2.7 이상일 수 있다. 여기서, {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값은 {100}<011>, {116}<110>, {114}<110>, {113}<110>, {112}<110>, {335}<110> 및 {223}<110> 결정 방위의 극밀도 평균값을 의미하며, 강재의 두께 중심부는 강재 두께(t, mm)에 대해 3/8t 내지 5/8t 범위 이내의 영역을 의미한다. 각각의 결정 방위 극밀도는 주사전자현미경의 후방산란전자 회절패턴(EBSD)을 이용하여 측정할 수 있으며, 당해 기술분야의 통상의 기술자는 특단의 기술적 수단을 부가하지 않고서도 어렵지 않게 본 발명의 결정 방위 극밀도를 측정할 수 있다.
후술하는 바와 같이 무소둔 냉간압연에 의해 판상의 라멜라 펄라이트 조직에 변형이 일어나며, 무소둔 압하 방법에 따라 특정 결정방위의 성정을 제어할 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재는, 강재의 두께 중심부의 {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값을 1.8 이상으로 제어하고, 강재의 두께 중심부에서 측정한 {332}<113> 결정 방위의 극밀도가 2.5 이상으로 제어할 수 있다. 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값이 전술한 조건을 만족하지 않는 경우, 세멘타이트의 구상화 속도를 촉진하기에 불충분하여 목표한 구상화 소둔 조건에서 탄화물의 구상화가 완료되지 못할 뿐만 아니라, 목적하는 가공성을 확보할 수 없게 된다.
한편, 강재 길이방향 단면에서의 펄라이트 블록(block)의 평균 장단축 비 역시 세멘타이트의 구상화 속도에 영향을 미치는 요소이다. 무소둔 냉간압연에 의해 펄라이트의 길이방향 연신이 일어나므로, 강재 길이방향 단면에서의 펄라이트 블록(block)의 평균 장단축 비 역시 무소둔 냉간압연에 의해 제어되는 요소이다. 본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재는, 충분한 세멘타이트의 구상화 속도를 촉진하기 위하여 강재의 길이방향 단면에서 관찰되는 펄라이트 블록(block)의 평균 장단축 비를 1.41:1 이상으로 제어할 수 있다. 보다 바람직한 펄라이트 블록(block)의 평균 장단축 비는 1.43:1 이상일 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재는, HRB 104 내지 HRB 115의 표면 경도를 가질 수 있다. 보다 바람직한 표면경도는 HRB 108 이상 또는 HRB 112 이하일 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재는 구상화 속도가 촉진되어 650~700℃의 온도범위에서 구상화 소둔을 실시하더라도 탄화물의 구상화를 효과적으로 완료할 수 있다. 바람직한 구상화 소둔 시간은 10시간 내지 30시간일 수 있다. 여기서, 탄화물의 구상화 완료 조건이란 탄화물의 장단축비가 1.2 이하인 구형의 탄화물 개수가 전체 탄화물 개수의 90% 이상인 것을 의미하며, 보다 바람직하게는 95% 이상인 것을 의미할 수 있다. 구상율이 90% 미만인 경우 구상화가 완료되지 않은 침상의 탄화물에 의해 가공성이 현저히 저하될 수 있다. 구상화 소둔온도가 650℃ 미만인 경우 저온으로 인하여 탄화물의 구상화가 용이하지 않으며, 탄화물의 구상화에 지나치게 장시간이 소요될 수 있다. 반면, 구상화 소둔온도가 700℃를 초과하는 경우 탄화물의 크기가 조대해져 상간 경계에서 균열이 용이하게 발생하므로 가공성이 열위해질 수 있다.
이하, 본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재의 제조방법에 대해 보다 상세히 설명한다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 공구용 강재의 제조방법은, 중량%로, 탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%, 실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%, 망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%, 크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%, 인(P): 0.03% 이하, 황(S): 0.005% 이하, 나머지 철(Fe) 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하는 슬라브를 재가열한 후 열간압연하여 열연강판을 제공하는 단계; 및 30~50%의 압하율로 상기 열연강판을 무소둔 냉간압연하여 상기 열연강판에 포함되는 펄라이트의 세멘타이트를 기계적으로 분절하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
슬라브 재가열 및 열간압연
소정의 합금조성 함량으로 구비되는 슬라브를 준비한 후 슬라브 재가열을 실시할 수 있다. 본 발명의 슬라브 합금조성은 전술한 강재의 합금조성과 대응하므로, 본 발명의 슬라브 합금조성에 대한 설명은 전술한 강재의 합금조성에 대한 설명으로 대신한다. 또한, 본 발명의 슬라브 재가열 온도는 통상의 슬라브 재가열에 적용되는 조건이 적용될 수 있으나, 비 제한적인 예로서 본 발명의 슬라브 재가열 온도는 1000~1300℃의 범위일 수 있다.
재가열된 슬라브에 대해 850~1150℃의 온도범위에서 열간압연을 실시하여 열연강재를 제공할 수 있다. 열간압연 온도가 과도하게 높은 경우, 미세조직의 조대화에 의해 목적하는 물성을 확보할 수 없는 문제점이 존재하므로, 본 발명은 열간압연 온도범위의 상한을 1150℃로 제한할 수 있다. 반면, 열간압연 온도가 일정 수준 미만인 경우, 과도한 압연 부하가 문제될 수 있으므로, 본 발명은 열간압연 온도의 하한을 850℃로 제한할 수 있다.
열간압연된 강재를 600~650℃의 온도범위에서 권취할 수 있다. 권취 온도가 과도하게 높은 경우, 펄라이트 조직 내의 세멘타이트의 두께가 두꺼워질 뿐만 아니라, 권취 후의 상변태에 의해 형상불량이 발생할 수 있으므로, 본 발명은 권취 온도의 상한을 650℃로 제한할 수 있다. 반면, 권취 온도가 일정 수준 미만인 경우, 강도가 지나치게 높아 권취 후의 공정에서의 판파단이 우려되므로, 본 발명은 권취 온도의 하한을 600℃로 제한할 수 있다. 또한, 후술하는 탄화물 분절 단계에서 재질편차에 따른 판파단 발생을 방지하기 위하여, 열연 코일의 전장 길이 방향 온도편차를 20℃이하로 제어할 수 있다.
무소둔 냉간압연
권취된 강재를 언코일링한 후 언코일링한 강재의 표면 품질에 따라 선택적으로 산세 공정을 적용할 수 있으며, 이후 강재에 기계적 외력을 가하여 탄화물(판상의 세멘타이트)를 기계적으로 분절할 수 있다. 강재에 기계적 외력을 가하는 방식은 판상의 시멘타이트를 분절 가능한 방식이라면 어떠한 방식이라도 무방하나, 바람직하게는 냉간압연이 적용될 수 있다. 본 발명에서는 냉연강판을 제조하기 위한 통상적인 냉간압연과 구분하기 위하여, 탄화물의 기계적 분절을 위한 냉간압연을 무소둔 냉간압연이라고 지칭한다. 무소둔 냉간압연시 세멘타이트의 효과적인 분절 및 펄라이트의 효과적이 연신 측면에서 냉간 압하율을 30~50%의 범위로 제한할 수 있다.
본 발명의 경우, 열연강재에 기계적인 외력을 인가하여 판상의 시멘타이트를 분절하므로, 이후에 실시되는 구상화 소둔에서의 구상화 효율을 효과적으로 향상시킬 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명에서는 미세 분절된 탄화물이 다량 분포된 상태로 구상화 소둔을 개시하므로, 상대적으로 짧은 시간 내에 탄화물을 효과적으로 구상화할 수 있다.
이하, 실시예를 통하여 본 발명을 보다 구체적으로 설명한다. 다만, 후술하는 실시예는 본 발명을 예시하여 보다 구체화하기 위한 것일 뿐, 본 발명의 권리범위를 제한하기 위한 것은 아니라는 점에 유의할 필요가 있다.
(실시예)
표 1의 합금조성으로 구비되는 슬라브를 준비한 후 1200℃의 온도범위에서 가열하고, 950℃의 온도범위에서 열간압연을 실시하고, 850℃ 이상에서 열간압연을 종료하여 각각의 열연강판을 제조하였다.

이후, 표 2의 조건으로 무소둔 냉간압연을 실시하여 최종 시편을 제조하였으며, 무소둔 냉간압연 시 압연성을 아래의 기준에 따라 평가하여 표 2에 함께 기재하였다. 주사전자현미경을 이용하여 무소둔 냉간압연된 각 시편의 두께 중심부(3/8t 내지 5/8t 영역)의 결정 방위군 극밀도를 측정하였으며, 그 값을 표 2에 함께 기재하였다. 표 2에서 극밀도 1은 {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값을 의미하며, 극밀도 2는 {332}<113> 결정 방위의 극밀도를 의미한다. 또한, 주사전자현미경을 이용하여 각 시편의 길이방향 단면에서 펄라이트 블록(block)을 관찰하였으며, 이를 통해 산출된 펄라이트 블록(block)의 평균 장단축 비를 표 2에 함께 기재하였다. 아울러, ISO6508에 따라 각 시편의 표면경도를 측정하였으며, 이를 이용하여 측정된 로크웰 경도(HRB)를 표 2에 함께 기재하였다.
<압연성 평가방법>
OK: 냉간압연 시에 판파단 및 에지부의 크랙 발생이 존재하지 않거나, 에지부의 크랙이 발생하지만 10mm 미만의 크기를 갖는 에지 크랙 길이 내에서 최종 목표두께까지 압연이 가능한 경우
NG: 냉간압연 시에 판파단이나 에지부의 크랙이 발생하고, 10mm 이상이 되는 에지 크랙이 발생하거나, 10mm 미만이 되는 에지 크랙이 5군데 이상 발생한 경우

각각의 시편에 대해 표 3의 조건으로 구상화 소둔을 실시하였다. 이 때 구상화 소둔 시간은 15시간을 공통적으로 적용하였다. 구상화 소둔 완료 후 주사전자현미경을 이용하여 각 시편의 단면에서 탄화물을 관찰하였으며, 전체 탄화물 개수 대비 장단축비가 1.2 이하인 탄화물의 개수비를 이용하여 구상화율을 판단하였다. 구상화 소둔 이후의 시편에 대해 하중 1kg, 유지시간 10초로 시편 표면을 눌러 비커스 경도를 측정하였으며, 그 값을 표 3에 함께 기재하였다.
또한, 각 시편에 대해 블랭킹 테스트 후 타발면의 버(bur) 높이를 입체광학 현미경을 통해 측정하고, 두께 t의 시편을 곡률반경 R을 가지는 지그를 이용하여 시편을 압연방향의 수직방향으로 90도 굽힌 후 표면의 균열 발생 여부를 판단하고 균열이 발생하지 않는 최소 곡률반경 값을 측정하여 90도 벤딩 평가를 실시하였으며, 그 값을 표 3에 함께 기재하였다.
아울러, 각 시편에 대해 표 3의 담금질 온도로 가열한 후 급냉하는 담금질을 실시하였으며, ISO6508의 로크웰경도시험 C스케일 평가 방법에 따라 각 시편의 표면 경도를 측정하여 표 3에 함께 기재하였다.

표 1 내지 3에 나타난 바와 같이, 본 발명의 합금조성 및 공정조건을 만족하는 시편들은 우수한 경도 특성 및 가공성을 동시에 구비하는 반면, 본 발명의 합금조성 또는 공정조건 중 어느 하나를 만족하지 않는 시편들은 우수한 경도 특성 및 가공성의 동시 양립이 불가능한 것을 확인할 수 있다.
이상에서 실시예를 통하여 본 발명을 상세하게 설명하였으나, 이와 다른 형태의 실시예들도 가능하다. 그러므로, 이하에 기재된 청구항들의 기술적 사상과 범위는 실시예들에 한정되지 않는다.

Claims (8)

  1. 중량%로, 탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%, 실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%, 망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%, 크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%, 인(P): 0.03% 이하, 황(S): 0.005% 이하, 나머지 철(Fe) 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하고,
    펄라이트를 기지조직으로 포함하며,
    두께 중심부에서, {100}<011> 내지 {223}<110> 결정 방위군의 극밀도 평균값이 1.8 이상이고, {332}<113> 결정 방위의 극밀도가 2.5 이상인, 공구용 강재.
    여기서, 상기 두께 중심부는 강재의 단면 관찰 시, 강재 두께(t, mm)에 대해 3/8t 내지 5/8t 범위 이내의 영역을 의미한다.
  2. 중량%로, 탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%, 실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%, 망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%, 크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%, 인(P): 0.03% 이하, 황(S): 0.005% 이하, 나머지 철(Fe) 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하고,
    펄라이트를 기지조직으로 포함하며,
    길이방향 단면에서 펄라이트 블록(block)의 평균 장단축 비가 1.41:1 이상인, 공구용 강재.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 펄라이트의 분율은 90면적% 이상인, 공구용 강재.
  4. 제3항에 있어서,
    상기 강재는 기타 조직으로 10면적% 이하(0% 포함)의 초석 페라이트 및 3면적% 미만(0% 포함)의 경질조직을 더 포함하는, 공구용 강재.
  5. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
    650~700℃의 온도범위에서 10~30시간 동안 상기 강재를 구상화 소둔하는 경우, 상기 강재의 구상화 소둔율이 90% 이상인, 공구용 강재.
  6. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 강재의 표면 경도는 104 HRB 이상인, 공구용 강재.
  7. 중량%로, 탄소(C): 0.8~1.0%, 실리콘(Si): 0.1~0.3%, 망간(Mn): 0.3~0.5%, 크롬(Cr): 0.1~0.3%, 인(P): 0.03% 이하, 황(S): 0.005% 이하, 나머지 철(Fe) 및 불가피한 불순물을 포함하는 슬라브를 1000~1300℃의 온도범위에서 재가열하는 단계;
    상기 재가열된 슬라브를 850~1150℃의 온도범위에서 열간압연하는 단계; 및
    상기 열간압연된 강재를 30~50%의 압하율로 무소둔 냉간압연하는 단계를 포함하는, 공구용 강재의 제조방법.
  8. 제7항에 있어서,
    상기 열간압연 후 상기 열간압연된 강재를 600~650℃의 온도범위에서 권취하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 공구용 강재의 제조방법.
