- the dimming position determination unit 222 refers to the positional relationship information 264 and converts the display device position 202 (included in the display content information 121 acquired from the display image generation unit 100) into the dimming element position 203. As a result, the dimming position determination unit 222 determines one or more dimming elements 420 that control the dimming level (step S231).
- the dimming position determination unit 222 determines one or more dimming elements 420 that control the dimming level based on one positional relationship information 263.
- the positional relationship information generation unit 262 sets the dimming level every moment based on the positional relationship information 264 (which differs according to the dynamically changing line of sight of the viewer).
- One or more dimming elements 420 to be controlled are determined. In other words, when the line-of-sight information 252 (viewer's line of sight) changes due to a change in the posture of the viewer or the like, one or more dimming elements 420 that control different dimming levels are determined.
- the visibility determination unit 224 of the dimming determination unit 220 determines the visibility of the image displayed on the screen. Specifically, the visibility determination unit 224 determines the visibility of each tile (tile in which the screen is virtually divided) of the image displayed on the screen (step S233).
- the visibility determination unit 224 includes display content information 121 (content image data, display device position), external image 212, line-of-sight information 252 (dynamically changing viewer's line of sight), and positional relationship information 264 (movement). It depends on the viewer's line of sight, which changes).
- the visibility determination unit 224 determines the visibility (chromaticity contrast, luminance contrast) of the image when the viewer sees the image displayed at the screen display position based on the positional relationship information 264 with the line of sight based on the line-of-sight information 252. Is determined.
- the dimming level determination unit 223 of the dimming determination unit 220 acquires illuminance information 211 from the background information acquisition unit 210, and acquires visibility information (chromaticity contrast, luminance contrast) for each tile from the visibility determination unit 224. , The position information of one or more dimming elements 420 that control the dimming level is acquired from the dimming position determination unit 222. The dimming level determination unit 223 of the dimming determination unit 220 further acquires the viewpoint position information 253 from the line-of-sight information acquisition unit 250.
- the dimming level determination unit 223 is a tile corresponding to one or more dimming elements 420 that controls the dimming level based on the viewpoint position information 253 (viewpoint on the viewer's screen that dynamically changes every moment). Determines if the viewer is currently viewing a tile whose screen is virtually divided).
- the dimming level determining unit 223 determines the dimming level of the one or more dimming elements 420. do.
- the dimming level determination unit 223 determines the dimming level for each dimming element 420 based on the background information (illuminance information 211) and visibility information (chromaticity contrast, luminance contrast) of each tile corresponding to the dimming element 420. It is determined independently (step S232).
- the dimming level determination unit 223 controls the dimming level when the viewpoint position information 253 (the viewpoint on the viewer's screen that dynamically changes every moment) changes due to a change in the posture of the viewer or the like. If it is determined that the viewer does not see the tile corresponding to one or more dimming elements 420, the one or more dimming elements 420 are not dimmed.
- the dimming determination unit 220 of the dimming control unit 200 independently determines the dimming level for each of the plurality of dimming elements 420 (step S230).
- the dimming information output unit 230 outputs the dimming level of each of the plurality of dimming elements 420 to the dimming device 40 (step S240, the same as the third embodiment).
- the screen display position (the position on the screen on which the image is displayed) to be dimmed is determined based on the dynamically changing line-of-sight position of the viewer. ..
- the visibility of the image (the visibility of the individual viewer for each moment) when the image is viewed with the line of sight that changes for each moment of the individual viewer is determined.
- the screen on which the image is displayed is dimmed independently for each tile that is virtually divided at a different dimming level.
- the display is always displayed, as compared with the case where the dimming level is determined according to the visibility based on the estimated line-of-sight position of the individual viewer.
- the visibility of the image can be improved and the background visibility can be kept better.
- the viewpoint on the screen of the viewer changes dynamically every moment due to a change in the posture of the viewer or the like, the position not seen by the viewer is dimmed. do not do. This reduces unnecessary dimming of the screen and thus reduces the risk of poor visibility of the screen background environment (especially where the viewer is actually looking).
- the visibility of the image may decrease due to the brightness of the environment that is the background of the image and the influence of objects.
- a smoke film that reduces the light incident from the window or a dimming film that can change the dimming level on the entire surface of the screen.
- the entire surface of the screen is uniformly dimmed or dimmed. Therefore, if the screen is dimmed (dimmed) in order to improve the visibility of the image, the visibility of the background environment of the screen may deteriorate.
- the screen display position where the image is displayed is dimmed, and the position where the image on the screen is not displayed is not dimmed.
- the visibility of the image is improved by dimming, and at the same time, the visibility of the background environment of the screen is not deteriorated.
- the screen on which the image is displayed is independently dimmed at a different dimming level for each tile that is virtually divided according to the difference in the illuminance of the background environment (presence or absence of direct sunlight, etc.).
- the display dimming control device, the dimming device, and the display device have been described. However, one device may be included in another.
