Abstract

The invention describes a novel product for use in airports, ports, bus stations and entry and exit points for people and goods, without limitation, that is intended to reduce the possibility of contamination and the spread of infectious diseases. The invention comprises an X-ray security inspection system incorporating an object-disinfecting system at the entrance that prevents contamination of the X-ray scanner and its components, and a tray-disinfecting and -return system, both using ultraviolet C radiation. The system has conveyors for carrying objects and trays through disinfecting tunnels, using rollers or belts enabling the passage of ultraviolet light and safety curtains that prevent the egress of light into the external environment.
