복합 패널은 기재없는 터치센서 패널과 터치센서 패널의 일면에 제1 점접착층을 매개로 결합하는 제1 결합 부재를 구비한다.
Description
본 발명은 터치센서 패널을 포함하는 복합 패널에 관한 것이다. 상세하게는, 본 발명은 터치센서 패널에 가해지는 압축/인장 응력을 최소화할 수 있는 복합 패널에 관한 것이다.
표시 장치는 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이 패널, 터치를 감지하는 터치센서 패널 등을 포함할 수 있다. 디스플레이 패널은 액정 디스플레이 패널, 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널, 유기발광 디스플레이 패널, 전기영동 디스플레이 패널 등이 있다. 터치 패널은 터치 부분의 감지 방식에 따라 저항막 방식, 정전용량 방식, 초음파 방식, 적외선 방식 등이 사용되고 있다.
표시 장치는 표시 영역 외부에 위치하는 비표시 영역, 즉 베젤(bezel)의 폭을 최소화하여 유효 표시 영역을 최대화하려는, 소위 네로우 베젤(Narrow Bezel)을 추구하고 있다.
국제특허공개 WO2016/117819호(이하, '종래기술'이 함)는 네로우 베젤을 갖는 표시 장치를 개시하고 있다. 종래기술은 터치센서 패널, 컬러 필터층, 블랙 매트릭스층 등을 포함하고 있다. 터치센서 패널은 표시 영역의 외측에 인쇄 영역이 형성되는 윈도우 패널, 윈도우 패널의 하부 영역에 배치되는 투명 기판, 투명 기판의 표시 영역에 형성되는 투명 전극패턴, 투명전극 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되고 표시 영역의 외측 및 표시 영역의 최외곽 내부에 형성되는 배선 패턴, 그리고 배선 패턴 상에 형성되는 차폐층 등으로 구성하고 있다. 여기서, 컬러 필터층은 터치센서 패널의 하부 영역에서 표시 영역에 구비된다. 블랙 매트릭스층은 표시 영역을 둘러싸면서 표시 영역의 외측에 형성되어 있다.
그런데, 종래기술에서 윈도우 패널, 터치센서 패널, 데코 패널, 기능층, 디스플레이 패널 등을 적층하여 표시 장치를 구성하고 있다. 이것을 폴더용으로 사용하면, 점접착층 등을 매개로 터치센서 패널의 상/하부에 결합하는 윈도우 패널, 데코 패널, 기능층 등의 압축/인장 응력이 표시 장치의 굴곡성(flexibility)을 떨어뜨릴 수 있다. 또한, 종래기술은 터치센서 패널에 크랙을 발생시켜 센싱전극 패턴을 단선시킴으로써 터치센서 패널의 성능을 악화시킬 수 있다.
본 발명은 터치센서 패널의 상/하부에 결합하는 윈도우 패널 등의 폴딩시 압축/인장 응력이 터치센서 패널에 가해지는 것을 최소화함으로써 터치센서 패널에서 크랙, 단선 등이 발생하는 것을 방지 내지 최소화하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 발명은 기재없는 터치센서 패널; 그리고 터치센서 패널의 일면에 제1 점접착층을 매개로 결합하는 제1 결합 부재를 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명은 터치센서 패널의 타면에 제2 점접착층을 매개로 결합하는 제2 결합 부재를 더 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에서, 제1 점접착층 또는 제2 점접착층은 10 ~ 50㎛의 두께와 0.02 ~ 1 MPa의 모듈러스를 가질 수 있다.

본 발명은 윈도우 패널(하드코팅층, 투명필름, 데코층)과 터치센서 패널을 일체형으로 구성함으로써, 공정을 간소화할 수 있고, 박막화와 굴곡성을 개선할 수 있다.
본 발명은 윈도우 패널, 기능층 등을 터치센서 패널에 결합할 때 점접착층을 이용함으로써, 공정을 간소화할 수 있다. 이를 통해, 본 발명은 제조가 용이하고, 제조 원가를 낮출 수 있다.

전극 패턴층은 터치를 감지하는 것으로, 투명 도전층, 예를들어 도전 금속, 금속나노와이어, 금속산화물, 탄소나노튜브, 그래핀, 전도성 고분자 및 도전성 잉크 등으로 구성할 수 있다.

금속산화물은 인듐틴옥사이드(ITO), 인듐징크옥사이드(IZO), 인듐징크틴옥사이드(IZTO), 알루미늄징크옥사이드(AZO), 갈륨징크옥사이드(GZO), 플로린틴옥사이드(FTO), 징크옥사이드(ZnO), 인듐틴옥사이드-은-인듐틴옥사이드(ITO-Ag-ITO), 인듐징크옥사이드-은-인듐징크옥사이드(IZO-Ag-IZO), 인듐징크틴옥사이드-은-인듐징크틴옥사이드(IZTO-Ag-IZTO) 및 알루미늄징크옥사이드-은-알루미늄징크옥사이드(AZO-Ag-AZO) 등을 사용할 수 있다.
전극 패턴층은, 폴더용으로 사용하는 경우, 연성 도전물로 형성하는 것이 바람직할 수 있는데, 연성 도전물로는 폴리에틸렌디옥티오펜(PEDOT: poly 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), PEDOT:PSS(polystyrene sulfonate) 또는 PEDOT:PSS와 금속나노와이어의 혼합물을 사용할 수 있다.
PEDOT:PSS는 폴리티오펜계 전도성 고분자로서, 폴리(스티렌설포네이트) (polystyrene sulfonate, PSS)로 도핑된 폴리(3,4-에틸렌디옥티오펜)(poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), PEDOT)이다. PEDOT:PSS는 PSS를 전하 균형을 맞춰주는 템플릿(template)으로 사용하여 3,4-에틸렌디옥시티오펜(EDOT)을 수용액 상에서 산화 중합하는 방법으로 제조할 수 있다. PEDOT:PSS는 PEDOT이 PSS 고분자 사슬에 매우 강하게 이온 결합하여 수용액 상에서 서로 분리되지 않고 고분자 겔 입자로 안정적으로 분산될 수 있다.
패시베이션층은 전극 패턴층을 절연 보호하는 것으로 전극 패턴층과 기재층 상에 형성할 수 있다. 패시베이션층은 일반 절연체인 경화성 프리폴리머, 경화성 폴리머, 가소성 폴리머에서 선택되는 하나 이상의 물질로 형성할 수 있다.
패시베이션층은 필름화가 가능한 바니쉬(varnish) 타입의 재료를 사용할 수도 있다. 바니쉬 타입의 재료로는 폴리다이메틸실록산(PDMS: polydimethylsiloxane), 폴리오가노실록산(POS: polyorganosiloxane) 등의 폴리실리콘계 또는 폴리이미드계 또는 스판덱스 등의 폴리우레탄계 등이 있다. 이러한 바니쉬 타입의 재료들은 연성 절연물로서 터치센서 패널의 연신성을 높이고 다이나믹 폴딩 능력을 높일 수 있다.
터치센서 패널(110)은 기재층 외에 별도의 기재(위에서 설명한 기재층 외에 터치센서층에 추가로 부착되는 필름, 글라스 등의 모든 부재를 의미한다.)을 접합하지 않음으로써 터치센서 패널(110)을 박막층, 예를 들어 4 내지 10 ㎛의 두께로 구성할 수 있다.
터치센서 패널(110)은 박막화를 위해 기재층과 패시베이션층을 모두 제1,2 점접착층(120,150)으로 구성하거나 또는 패시베이션층만을 제1 점접착층(120)으로 구성할 수 있다.
제1 점접착층(120)은 터치센서 패널(110)과 제1 결합 부재(130)를 결합하는 것으로, 일면(도 1에서 하면)은 터치센서 패널(110)의 일면(도 1에서 상면)에 결합하고, 타면(도 1에서 상면)은 제1 결합 부재(130)의 일면(도 1에서 하면)에 결합할 수 있다.
제1 점접착층(120)은 PSA(Pressure Sensitive Adhesive), OCA(Optically Clear Adhesive) 등의 점접착체 필름을 사용할 수 있다.
제1 점접착층(120)은 아크릴계 공중합체, 가교제 등을 포함할 수 있다.
아크릴계 공중합체는 탄소수 1-12의 알킬기를 갖는 (메타)아크릴레이트 단량체와 가교 가능한 관능기를 갖는 중합성 단량체의 공중합체일 수 있다. (메타)아크릴레이트는 아크릴레이트 및 메타크릴레이트를 의미한다. 가교 가능한 관능기를 갖는 중합성 단량체는 화학 결합에 의해 점착제 조성물의 응집력 또는 점착 강도를 보강하여 내구성과 절단성을 부여하기 위한 성분으로서, 예를 들어 히드록시기를 갖는 단량체, 카르복시기를 갖는 단량체가 있으며, 이들은 단독 또는 2종 이상 혼합하여 사용할 수 있다.
가교제는 밀착성 및 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있고, 고온에서의 신뢰성 및 점착제의 형상을 유지시킬 수 있는 성분으로서, 이소시아네이트계, 에폭시계, 과산화물계, 금속킬레이트계, 옥사졸린계 등이 사용될 수 있으며, 1종 또는 2종 이상을 혼합 사용할 수 있다. 이 중 이소시아네이트계가 바람직할 수 있다.
아래의 표 1은 터치센서 패널(110)의 두께를 4㎛로 하고, 제1 점접착층(120)을 PSA로 구성하여 그 두께와 모듈러스를 변화시키면서 1.5R과 3R의 폴딩 시에 터치센서 패널(110)에 크랙이 발생하는 지를 측정한 것이다.(전극 패턴층에 크랙이 발생하면 '○', 발생하지 않으면 '×'로 표시)

위의 표 1~3에서 보듯이, 터치센서 패널(110)에서 크랙 발생은 터치센서 패널(110)의 두께와 관련이 없고, 제1 점접착층(120)의 모듈러스에 관련됨을 확인할 수 있다. 즉, 박막화를 위해 제1 점접착층(120)의 두께를 10 내지 50 ㎛의 범위로 구성할 때, 폴딩 시에 터치센서 패널(110)에 크랙을 발생시키지 않으려면, 제1 점접착층(120)의 모듈러스는 3R 폴딩 조건에서는 0.02 ~ 1.00 MPa, 1.5R 폴딩 조건에서 0.02 ~ 0.50 MPa를 가져야 함을 알 수 있다. 여기서, 제1 점접착층(120)의 모듈러스가 0.02 MPa 미만이 되면, 제1 점접착층(120)을 공정에 적용하기가 어렵기 때문에, 제1 점접착층(120)의 모듈러스는 0.02 MPa 이상으로 한정하였다.
제1 결합 부재(130)는 제1 점접착층(120)을 매개로 터치센서 패널(110)에 결합하는 것으로, 윈도우 패널일 수 있다. 윈도우 패널은, 도 1에 도시한 바와 같이, 투명 필름(131), 데코층(132,133), 하드코팅층(134) 등을 포함할 수 있다.
투명 필름(131)은 PI 필름, PET 필름, COP 필름 등을 사용할 수 있다. 투명 필름(131)은 두께를 20~50㎛로 구성할 수 있다.
데코층(132,133)은 투명 필름(131)의 일면(도 1에서 하면)에 결합하는 것으로, 블랙 매트릭스층(132), 평탄화층(133)을 포함할 수 있다.
블랙 매트릭스층(132)은 투명 필름(131)의 일면(도 1에서 하면) 가장자리 영역, 즉 베젤 영역에 결합하여 빛을 차단하는 것으로, 박막 단일층의 흑색 수지 조성물로 구성할 수 있다. 흑색 수지 조성물은 흑색 안료 입자가 분산된 수지, 바인더 수지, 중합성 화합물, 중합성 개시제, 첨가제 등을 포함하는 조성물이나 흑색 안료를 포함하여 흑색을 띠는 광경화(열경화)성 수지 조성물을 이용할 수 있다.
흑색 안료는 카본 블랙, 흑연, 금속 산화물 등일 수 있다. 흑색 안료는 유기 블랙 안료를 포함할 수 있는데, 유기 블랙 안료는 아닐린 블랙, 락탐 블랙 또는 페릴렌 블랙 계열 등일 수 있다.
첨가제는 밀착 촉진제, 광가교 증감제, 경화 촉진제, 계면 활성제, 분산제, 산화 방지제, 자외선 흡수제, 열중합 방지제, 레벨링제 등을 포함할 수 있고, 이들 중 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있다.
블랙 매트릭스층(132)은 박막화를 위해 포토 공정(Photolithography)으로 형성할 수 있다. 포토 공정은 감광성 흑색 수지 조성물을 투명 필름(131)에 도포한 후 감광성 흑색 수지 조성물을 노광 및 현상하여 형성할 수 있다.
평탄화층(133)은 투명 필름(131)의 일면(도 1에서 하면)에 블랙 매트릭스층(132)을 커버하면서 결합하여, 블랙 매트릭스층(132)의 표면 단차 보정, 평탄화, 투명 필름 보호, 굴절률 제어 등의 기능을 수행하는 것으로, 소위 오버코팅(over coating)층일 수 있다. 평탄화층(133)은 1.5~5㎛의 두께로 구성할 수 있다.
평탄화층(133)은 유기막으로 구성할 수 있으며, 그 외에 무기막, 유무기 하이브리드 막으로 구성할 수도 있다. 유기막은 폴리아크릴레이트, 폴리이미드, 폴리에스테르 등을 사용할 수 있다. 무기막은 실라잔, 실리카, 또는 광투과율이 확보된 무기막, 금속막 등을 사용할 수 있다. 무기막에는 무기 필러를 포함할 수 있다. 무기 필러는 광추출 효율을 향상시킬 수 있는 구형 나노입자일 수 있다. 유무기 하이브리드 막은 실록산, 실세스퀴옥산 등의 분산된 유기무기 하이브리드 복합체를 사용할 수 있다.
도 1에서, 평탄화층(133)은 제1 점접착층(120)으로 대신하는 것도 가능하다.
하드코팅층(134)은 투명 필름(131)의 타면(도 1에서 상면)에 결합하여 투명 필름(131)의 타면을 보호하는 것으로, 투명 고분자 필름을 이용하거나 투명 고분자 물질을 코팅하여 구성할 수 있다.
투명 고분자 물질로는 트리아세틸 셀룰로오스, 아세틸 셀룰로오스부틸레이트, 에틸렌-아세트산비닐공중합체, 프로피오닐 셀룰오로스, 부티릴 셀룰로오스, 아세틸 프로피오닐 셀룰로오스, 폴리에스테르, 폴리스티렌, 폴리아미드, 폴리에테르이미드, 폴리아크릴, 폴리이미드, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리술폰, 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌, 폴리메틸펜텐, 폴리염화비닐, 폴리염화비닐리덴, 폴리비닐알콜, 폴리비닐아세탈, 폴리에테르케톤, 폴리에테르에테르케톤, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리메틸메타아크릴레이트, 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트, 폴리부틸렌테레프탈레이트, 폴리에틸렌나프탈레이트, 폴리카보네이트 등을 단독 또는 2종 이상 혼합하여 사용할 수 있다.
코팅 방법으로는 바코팅 방식, 나이프 코팅 방식, 롤 코팅 방식, 블레이드 코팅 방식, 다이 코팅 방식, 마이크로 그라비아 코팅 방식, 콤마 코팅 방식, 슬롯 다이 코팅 방식, 립 코팅 방식, 솔루션 캐스팅 방식 등을 이용할 수 있다.
도 2는 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른 복합 패널을 도시하는 단면도이다.
도 2에 도시한 바와 같이, 다른 실시예의 복합 패널은 터치센서 패널(110)의 타면(도 2에서 하면)에 FPCB(140), 제2 점접착층(150), 제2 결합 부재(160)를 추가 적층한 구조로 구성할 수 있다.
FPCB(140)는 터치센서 패널(110)의 감지 신호를 외부로 전달하는 것으로, 일측이 광경화성 수지를 포함하는 접착제를 이용하여 터치센서 패널(110)의 전극 패드에 접착될 수 있다. 접착제는 다수의 도전볼을 갖는 이방성 도전 필름(Anisotropic Conducting Film, ACF) 등을 사용할 수 있다. 도 2에서, FPCB(140)를 터치센서 패널(110)의 하면에 결합하는 것으로 도시하고 있으나, FPCB(140)를 터치센서 패널(110)의 상면에 결합하는 것도 가능하다.
제2 점접착층(150)은 터치센서 패널(110)과 제2 결합 부재(160)를 결합하는 것으로, 일면(도 2에서 상면)은 터치센서 패널(110)의 타면(도 2에서 하면)에 결합하고, 타면(도 2에서 하면)은 제2 결합 부재(160)의 일면(도 2에서 상면)에 결합할 수 있다.
제2 점접착층(150)은 PSA(Pressure Sensitive Adhesive), OCA(Optically Clear Adhesive) 등의 점접착체 필름을 사용할 수 있는데, 이들에 대한 상세한 설명은 위에서 설명한 제1 점접착층(120)의 관련 설명으로 갈음한다.

위의 표 4~6에 보듯이, 터치센서 패널(110)의 양면에 제1,2 점접착층(120,150)을 결합한 구조에서, 제1,2 점접착층(120,150)의 두께를 10 내지 50 ㎛의 범위로 구성할 때, 폴딩 시에 터치센서 패널(110)에 크랙을 발생시키지 않으려면, 제2 점접착층(150)의 모듈러스는, 제1 점접착층(120)과 동일하게, 3R 폴딩 조건에서는 0.02 ~ 1.00 MPa, 1.5R 폴딩 조건에서는 0.02 ~ 0.50 MPa를 가져야 함을 알 수 있다.
제2 결합 부재(160)는 보강층, 기능층, 디스플레이 패널 등일 수 있다.
보강층은 PET층, PI층, COP층 등일 수 있고, 기능층은 편광층 등일 수 있으며, 디스플레이 패널은 액정표시 패널, 플라즈마 패널, 전계발광 패널, 유기발광다이오드 패널 등일 수 있다.
이상, 본 발명을 여러 실시예로서 설명하였는데, 이들은 본 발명을 예증하기 위한 것이다. 통상의 기술자라면 위의 실시예를 다른 형태로 변형하거나 수정할 수 있을 것이다. 그러나, 본 발명의 권리범위는 아래의 특허청구범위에 의해 정해지므로, 그러한 변형이나 수정이 본 발명의 권리범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석될 수 있다.

- 기재없는 터치센서 패널; 및상기 터치센서 패널의 일면에 제1 점접착층을 매개로 결합하는 제1 결합 부재를 포함하는, 복합 패널.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 터치센서 패널의 타면에 제2 점접착층을 매개로 결합하는 제2 결합 부재를 포함하는, 복합 패널.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제1 점접착층 또는 제2 점접착층은10 ~ 50㎛의 두께와 0.02 ~ 1 MPa의 모듈러스를 갖는, 복합 패널.

- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 데코층은상기 투명필름의 타면에 결합하는 블랙매트릭스층;상기 블랙매트릭스층을 커버하면서 상기 투명필름의 타면에 결합하는 평탄화층을 포함하는, 복합 패널.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제2 결합 부재는보강층, 기능층 중에서 적어도 하나를 포함하는, 복합 패널.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 보강층은PET층, PI층, 또는 COP층인, 복합 패널.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 기능층은편광층인, 복합 패널.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제2 결합 부재는디스플레이 패널인, 복합 패널.
