- the present invention discloses a process for preparing the synergistic liquid pesticidal composition.
- the process involves blending of propylene glycol with polymer surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulphate and sodium naphthalene sulfonate condensate in water to obtain the additive mixture.
- the premix slurry is then passed through a bead mill to obtain a concentrate suspension of a particle size in a predetermined range of 1 to 5 microns.
- the concentrate suspension is then mixed with a dithiocarbamate fungicide, at least one suitable agricultural excipient and predetermined quantity of water to obtain the synergistic liquid pesticidal composition.

- the synergistic liquid pesticidal composition was prepared in accordance with the below mentioned process and the ingredient amounts. The composition details are illustrated in Table 4 herein below:
- additive blends were prepared in accordance with the amounts as mentioned in Table 5 herein below:
- Step 1 Preparation of additive blend: 350 gms of water was charged into 1 litre beaker. 50 gms of propylene glycol was then added in the beaker and stirred for 5 minutes. Further, under stirring conditions, the dispersing agent and wetting agents are added as mentioned in the table 5 to obtain the additive blends as mentioned in the Table 5.
- Step 2 Preparation of strobilin, Conazole blend with additives:
- Step 1 425 gms of the additive blend as prepared in Step 1 was taken in a beaker. To this beaker 27 gms of strobilin fungicide, 26 gm of conazole fungicide, and half quantity of antifoam emulsion was added under stirring conditions to obtain a pre-mix slurry. The pre-mix slurry was then passed through a bead mill such that the temperature of the material passing through the bead mill was maintained below 20 degree, to obtain a concentrate suspension of conazole / Strobilin fungicide. The concentrate suspension had a particle size in the range of 1 to 5 m. Then 50 gm of water was passed through the bead mill to recover the material remaining in the bead mill. Step 3: Preparation of strobilin/conazole/Dithiocarbamate blend:
- the concentrate suspension 528.5 gm as obtained in Step 2 was mixed with 400 g of dithiocarbamate fungicide, balance quantity of anti-foam emulsion, 37 g of thickening agent, 1 g of preservative, 10 gm of stabilizer and balance quantity of water in a homogenizer for two hours to obtain the synergistic liquid pesticidal composition.
- Additive blend 4 was used to prepare the synergistic liquid pesticidal composition of the present invention. The following are the results of the synergistic liquid pesticidal composition prepared using the additive blend 4.
- additive 4 blend stabilized the composition at ageing at 54 °C for 14 days. Upon ageing at 54 °C for 14 days the composition was pourable from the container and also all the physico-chemical properties where intact. However, in rest of the composition prepared using other additive blends formed a hard cake upon ageing at 54 °C thereby demonstrating that the additive blend 4 at helps in stabilizing the formulation. Without additive the formulation is not stable and forms hard cake on ageing and also formulation is only stable when the additive in mixed in predetermined ratio.
- the present invention provides a composition that serves the dual purpose of addressing the issue of stability of formulations comprising water insoluble active ingredients, combination of two or more active ingredients as well as provides enhanced synergistic pesticidal effect for managing the damage caused by pests while also meeting the pesticidal requirement as compared with the individual application.
- the composition provides the advantages of synergistic pesticidal activity and enhanced stability.
- Example 4 Bioefficay of Mancozeb 41.3 % + Picoxystrobin 3.3% + Prothioconazole 2.9% SC against grey mildew ( Ramularia areola) of Cotton
- the liquid pesticidal composition of the present invention was tested for its bioefficacy against grey mildew of Cotton.

- Table 8 summarizes the effects of ageing on the composition (composition devoid of additive blend).
- Table 8 The compositions as prepared in accordance with Table 8 underwent ageing at 54 °C for 14 days (heat stability observation HT). Upon ageing at 54 °C for 14 days the composition was thick and hard lumps were also observed; thereby demonstrating that the additive blend helps in stabilizing the formulation.
