Description
本発明は、ヒドリドイオン伝導体及びその製造方法、触媒、電池用電解質、及び、電池に関する。
ヒドリドイオン(水素化物イオン、H-)を含む化合物の合成や物性に関する研究が近年進んでいる。
H-は1価であり、分極率が高く、低い酸化還元電位(E0=-2.25 V vs SHE)を有するため、例えば、エネルギー密度の高い電気化学デバイス、他の複合アニオン化合物への中間体等への応用が期待されている。
例えば、高いH-伝導を示す固体化合物として、層状ペロブスカイト型酸水素化物(La,Sr)2Li(O,H)4、高温相でのBaH2等が知られており、結晶構造やアニオン欠損などの因子がイオン伝導に影響を及ぼしていることが議論されている。
H-は1価であり、分極率が高く、低い酸化還元電位(E0=-2.25 V vs SHE)を有するため、例えば、エネルギー密度の高い電気化学デバイス、他の複合アニオン化合物への中間体等への応用が期待されている。
例えば、高いH-伝導を示す固体化合物として、層状ペロブスカイト型酸水素化物(La,Sr)2Li(O,H)4、高温相でのBaH2等が知られており、結晶構造やアニオン欠損などの因子がイオン伝導に影響を及ぼしていることが議論されている。
特許文献1には、遷移金属と、前記遷移金属を担持する担体とを含む金属担持物であって、前記担体が、特定の式で表わされる金属水素化物であることを特徴とする金属担持物が記載されている。
特許文献2には、一般式M1 XM2 yAHzOα(式中、M1は3価の希土類元素、M2はアルカリ土類金属元素またはMg、AはLi、Na、Sc、Co、Ni、Cu、MnまたはFeを示す。0≦x≦2;0≦y≦2;x+y=2;0<z<4;ならびに1≦α<3もしくは3<α<4である。)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン導電体が記載されている。
特許文献3には、チタン含有ペロブスカイト型酸化物に含まれる酸化物イオンの1原子%以上が水素化物イオン(H-)で置換された、水素化物イオン伝導性を有するペロブスカイト型酸化物が記載されている。
特許文献2には、一般式M1 XM2 yAHzOα(式中、M1は3価の希土類元素、M2はアルカリ土類金属元素またはMg、AはLi、Na、Sc、Co、Ni、Cu、MnまたはFeを示す。0≦x≦2;0≦y≦2;x+y=2;0<z<4;ならびに1≦α<3もしくは3<α<4である。)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン導電体が記載されている。
特許文献3には、チタン含有ペロブスカイト型酸化物に含まれる酸化物イオンの1原子%以上が水素化物イオン(H-)で置換された、水素化物イオン伝導性を有するペロブスカイト型酸化物が記載されている。
上述のように、これまで、ヒドリドイオン伝導を示す固体化合物について様々な化合物が検討されてきた。
しかし、ヒドリドイオン伝導体が用いられる用途によって、ヒドリドイオン伝導体には様々な物性が要求されるため、新規なヒドリドイオン伝導体の開発が望まれている。

本発明の目的は、新規なヒドリドイオン伝導体、前記ヒドリドイオン伝導体からなる触媒、前記ヒドリドイオン伝導体を含む電池用電解質、及び、前記電池用電解質を含む電池を提供することである。
本発明の代表的な実施形態を以下に示す。
<1> 式(1):M1 aM2 bM3 cHxX1 yX2 zで示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体;
式(1)中、M1はアルカリ金属元素を表し、M2はMg又はアルカリ土類金属元素を表し、M3は希土類金属元素を表し、0≦a≦1、0≦b≦2、0≦c≦2であり、1<a+b+c≦2であり、0<x<4であり、X1はハロゲン元素であり、0≦y<4であり、X2はカルコゲン元素であり、X2が酸素のみを表す場合、0≦z<1であり、X2が酸素以外のカルコゲン元素を含む元素を表す場合、0≦z<3であり、3<x+y+z≦5であり、M1、M2、M3、X1及びX2はそれぞれ、複数種の元素を含んでもよい。
<2> 酸素原子を含まないか、又は、X1及びX2の合計モル量に対し、酸素原子の含有モル量が5%以下である、<1>に記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体。
<3> a+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値が1以下である、<1>又は<2>に記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体。
<4> 層状化合物であり、かつ、上記式(1)におけるH、X1及びX2のうち層状化合物に存在する元素が層状格子間に存在する、<1>~<3>のいずれか1つに記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体。

以下において、本発明の内容について詳細に説明する。以下に記載する構成要件の説明は、本発明の代表的な実施態様や具体例に基づいてなされることがあるが、本発明はそのような実施態様や具体例に限定されるものではない。

本発明のヒドリド伝導体は新規なヒドリド伝導体である。
特許文献1~3のいずれにも、本発明の式(1)に該当するヒドリド伝導体については記載されていない。
特許文献1にはBaH2等の式:XHn(前記式において、Xは周期表第2族原子、第3族原子、又はランタノイド原子から選ばれる少なくとも1種を表し、nは、2≦n≦3で表わされる数を表す。)が記載されているが、これは、ハロゲン元素又はカルコゲン元素を含まない点で、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体とは異なる。
特許文献2には、式M1 XM2 yAHzOα(式中、M1は3価の希土類元素、M2はアルカリ土類金属元素またはMg、AはLi、Na、Sc、Co、Ni、Cu、MnまたはFeを示す。0≦x≦2;0≦y≦2;x+y=2;0<z<4;ならびに1≦α<3もしくは3<α<4である。)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン導電体が記載されているが、これは、金属元素(M1、M2及びA)を合計で3つ含む点で、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体とは異なる。
特許文献3には、チタン含有ペロブスカイト型酸化物に含まれる酸化物イオンの1原子%以上がヒドリドイオン(H-)で置換された、水素化物イオン伝導性を有するペロブスカイト型酸化物が記載されているが、これは、金属元素としてチタンを必須とする点で、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体とは異なる。
また、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、前記式(1)で表される組成を有してなることにより、上述の特許文献1~3のいずれかに記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体と比較して、ヒドリドイオンの伝導性に優れると考えられる。特に、本発明のヒドリド伝導体には、水素陽イオンの電荷密度が大きいことに起因する水素陽イオンのイオン伝導度の限界領域である、いわゆる「ノルビーギャップ」内、又はその近傍のヒドリドイオン伝導度を示すことが可能なものも存在する。
さらに、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、前記式(1)で表される組成を有してなることにより、例えば特許文献1~3のいずれかに記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体と比較して、低い温度(例えば300℃以下などの中低温域)でもヒドリドイオンの伝導性に優れると考えられる。
加えて、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、前記式(1)で表される組成を有してなることにより、例えば特許文献1~3のいずれかに記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体と比較して、ヒドリドイオンからの電子供与が抑制されるため、安定性に優れると考えられる。
以下、本発明のヒドリド伝導体の詳細について説明する。
特許文献1~3のいずれにも、本発明の式(1)に該当するヒドリド伝導体については記載されていない。
特許文献1にはBaH2等の式:XHn(前記式において、Xは周期表第2族原子、第3族原子、又はランタノイド原子から選ばれる少なくとも1種を表し、nは、2≦n≦3で表わされる数を表す。)が記載されているが、これは、ハロゲン元素又はカルコゲン元素を含まない点で、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体とは異なる。
特許文献2には、式M1 XM2 yAHzOα(式中、M1は3価の希土類元素、M2はアルカリ土類金属元素またはMg、AはLi、Na、Sc、Co、Ni、Cu、MnまたはFeを示す。0≦x≦2;0≦y≦2;x+y=2;0<z<4;ならびに1≦α<3もしくは3<α<4である。)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン導電体が記載されているが、これは、金属元素(M1、M2及びA)を合計で3つ含む点で、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体とは異なる。
特許文献3には、チタン含有ペロブスカイト型酸化物に含まれる酸化物イオンの1原子%以上がヒドリドイオン(H-)で置換された、水素化物イオン伝導性を有するペロブスカイト型酸化物が記載されているが、これは、金属元素としてチタンを必須とする点で、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体とは異なる。
また、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、前記式(1)で表される組成を有してなることにより、上述の特許文献1~3のいずれかに記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体と比較して、ヒドリドイオンの伝導性に優れると考えられる。特に、本発明のヒドリド伝導体には、水素陽イオンの電荷密度が大きいことに起因する水素陽イオンのイオン伝導度の限界領域である、いわゆる「ノルビーギャップ」内、又はその近傍のヒドリドイオン伝導度を示すことが可能なものも存在する。
さらに、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、前記式(1)で表される組成を有してなることにより、例えば特許文献1~3のいずれかに記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体と比較して、低い温度(例えば300℃以下などの中低温域)でもヒドリドイオンの伝導性に優れると考えられる。
加えて、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、前記式(1)で表される組成を有してなることにより、例えば特許文献1~3のいずれかに記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体と比較して、ヒドリドイオンからの電子供与が抑制されるため、安定性に優れると考えられる。
以下、本発明のヒドリド伝導体の詳細について説明する。
<M1、a>
式(1)中、M1はアルカリ金属元素を表し、Li、Na、K、Rb、Cs及びFrが挙げられ、Li、Na、K又はRbが好ましく、Kがより好ましい。
式(1)中、aは0≦a≦1であり、0≦a≦0.8であることが好ましく、0≦a≦0.5であることがより好ましい。
前記aの範囲内でM1を含有することにより、ヒドリドイオンの伝導性に優れる場合がある。
また、a=0である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1)中、M1はアルカリ金属元素を表し、Li、Na、K、Rb、Cs及びFrが挙げられ、Li、Na、K又はRbが好ましく、Kがより好ましい。
式(1)中、aは0≦a≦1であり、0≦a≦0.8であることが好ましく、0≦a≦0.5であることがより好ましい。
前記aの範囲内でM1を含有することにより、ヒドリドイオンの伝導性に優れる場合がある。
また、a=0である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
<M2、b>
式(1)中、M2はMg又はアルカリ土類金属元素を表し、Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba、Raが挙げられ、Ca、Sr又はBaが好ましく、Sr又はBaがより好ましい。
式(1)中、bは0≦b≦2であり、0.5≦b≦2であることが好ましく、0.8≦b≦2であることがより好ましく、1≦b≦2であることが更に好ましい。
また、0<b≦2であり、かつ、前記M2がBa及びSrの少なくとも一方を含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の一つである。
前記態様において、bの好ましい態様は上述のとおりである。
式(1)中、M2はMg又はアルカリ土類金属元素を表し、Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba、Raが挙げられ、Ca、Sr又はBaが好ましく、Sr又はBaがより好ましい。
式(1)中、bは0≦b≦2であり、0.5≦b≦2であることが好ましく、0.8≦b≦2であることがより好ましく、1≦b≦2であることが更に好ましい。
また、0<b≦2であり、かつ、前記M2がBa及びSrの少なくとも一方を含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の一つである。
前記態様において、bの好ましい態様は上述のとおりである。
<M3、c>
式(1)中、M3は希土類金属元素を表し、Sc、Y、及び、ランタノイドが挙げられ、Sc、Y、Laが好ましく、Laがより好ましい。
また、式(1)で表される化合物がM3を含む場合(すなわち、0<cである場合)、式(1)で表される化合物はM2を含む(すなわち、0<bである)ことが好ましい。
式(1)中、cは0≦c≦2であり、0≦c≦1.5であることが好ましく、0≦c≦1.2であることがより好ましく、0≦c≦1であることが更に好ましい。
また、0<c≦2であり、かつ、前記M3がLaを含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
さらに、0≦c≦1であり、かつ、1≦b≦2である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
前記態様において、0≦c≦0.5であり、かつ、1.5≦b≦2である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1)中、M3は希土類金属元素を表し、Sc、Y、及び、ランタノイドが挙げられ、Sc、Y、Laが好ましく、Laがより好ましい。
また、式(1)で表される化合物がM3を含む場合(すなわち、0<cである場合)、式(1)で表される化合物はM2を含む(すなわち、0<bである)ことが好ましい。
式(1)中、cは0≦c≦2であり、0≦c≦1.5であることが好ましく、0≦c≦1.2であることがより好ましく、0≦c≦1であることが更に好ましい。
また、0<c≦2であり、かつ、前記M3がLaを含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
さらに、0≦c≦1であり、かつ、1≦b≦2である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
前記態様において、0≦c≦0.5であり、かつ、1.5≦b≦2である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
<x>
式(1)中、xは0<x<4であり、1≦x<4であることが好ましく、2≦x≦3であることがより好ましい。
式(1)中、xは0<x<4であり、1≦x<4であることが好ましく、2≦x≦3であることがより好ましい。
<X1、y>
式(1)中、X1はハロゲン元素を表し、F、Cl、Br、I、At等が挙げられ、ヒドリドイオンの移動自由度を向上し、ヒドリド伝導性を向上する観点からは、Cl、Br又はIが好ましく、Iがより好ましい。
特に、X1がCl、Br又はIのような柔らかい(結合長が変化しやすい)アニオンである場合、ヒドリド伝導度が増大しやすいと考えられる。これらの中でも、Iが最も柔らかいため最も好ましく、Brが次に柔らかいためIの次に好ましい。
yは0≦y<4であり、0≦y≦3が好ましく、0≦y≦1がより好ましい。
また、0<y<4であり、前記X1がF、Cl又はBrを含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1)中、X1はハロゲン元素を表し、F、Cl、Br、I、At等が挙げられ、ヒドリドイオンの移動自由度を向上し、ヒドリド伝導性を向上する観点からは、Cl、Br又はIが好ましく、Iがより好ましい。
特に、X1がCl、Br又はIのような柔らかい(結合長が変化しやすい)アニオンである場合、ヒドリド伝導度が増大しやすいと考えられる。これらの中でも、Iが最も柔らかいため最も好ましく、Brが次に柔らかいためIの次に好ましい。
yは0≦y<4であり、0≦y≦3が好ましく、0≦y≦1がより好ましい。
また、0<y<4であり、前記X1がF、Cl又はBrを含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
<X2、z>
式(1)中、X2はカルコゲン元素を表し、カルコゲン元素としてはO、S、Se、Te、Po、Lv等が挙げられ、ヒドリドイオンの移動自由度の観点からは、S、Se又はTeが好ましく、S又はSeがより好ましい。
式(1)中、zはX2が酸素のみを表す場合、0≦z<1であり、0≦z≦0.9であることが好ましく、0≦z≦0.8であることがより好ましく、0≦z≦0.6であることが更に好ましい。
式(1)中、zはX2が酸素以外のカルコゲン元素を含む元素を表す場合、0≦z<3であり、0≦z≦2が好ましく、0≦z≦1がより好ましい。
また、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、X1及びX2のいずれか一方のみを含んでもよいし、X1及びX2の両方を含んでもよいが、X1及びX2のいずれか一方のみを含むことが好ましい。すなわち、0<yでありz=0である態様、又は、y=0であり0<zである態様も、好ましい態様の1つである。
また、ヒドリドイオンの伝導性を向上する観点からは、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、酸素原子を含まないか、又は、X1及びX2の合計モル量に対し、酸素原子の含有モル量が5%以下であることが好ましい。
また、0<z<3であり、前記X2がS又はSeを含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
前記酸素原子の含有モル量は、2%以下であることがより好ましく、1%以下であることが更に好ましく、0.1%以下であることが特に好ましい。
式(1)中、X2はカルコゲン元素を表し、カルコゲン元素としてはO、S、Se、Te、Po、Lv等が挙げられ、ヒドリドイオンの移動自由度の観点からは、S、Se又はTeが好ましく、S又はSeがより好ましい。
式(1)中、zはX2が酸素のみを表す場合、0≦z<1であり、0≦z≦0.9であることが好ましく、0≦z≦0.8であることがより好ましく、0≦z≦0.6であることが更に好ましい。
式(1)中、zはX2が酸素以外のカルコゲン元素を含む元素を表す場合、0≦z<3であり、0≦z≦2が好ましく、0≦z≦1がより好ましい。
また、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、X1及びX2のいずれか一方のみを含んでもよいし、X1及びX2の両方を含んでもよいが、X1及びX2のいずれか一方のみを含むことが好ましい。すなわち、0<yでありz=0である態様、又は、y=0であり0<zである態様も、好ましい態様の1つである。
また、ヒドリドイオンの伝導性を向上する観点からは、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、酸素原子を含まないか、又は、X1及びX2の合計モル量に対し、酸素原子の含有モル量が5%以下であることが好ましい。
また、0<z<3であり、前記X2がS又はSeを含む態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
前記酸素原子の含有モル量は、2%以下であることがより好ましく、1%以下であることが更に好ましく、0.1%以下であることが特に好ましい。
<a+b+c>
式(1)中、a+b+cは1<a+b+c≦2であり、1.5<a+b+c≦2であることが好ましく、1.8<a+b+c≦2であることがより好ましく、1.9<a+b+c≦2であることが更に好ましい。
また、式(1)中、a+b+c=2である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1)中、a+b+cは1<a+b+c≦2であり、1.5<a+b+c≦2であることが好ましく、1.8<a+b+c≦2であることがより好ましく、1.9<a+b+c≦2であることが更に好ましい。
また、式(1)中、a+b+c=2である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
<a+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値>
式(1)におけるa+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値は、1以下であることが好ましく、0.5以下であることがより好ましく、0.1以下であることが更に好ましい。
前記a+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値の最小値は特に限定されず、0以上であればよい。また、前記a+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値が0である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1)におけるa+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値は、1以下であることが好ましく、0.5以下であることがより好ましく、0.1以下であることが更に好ましい。
前記a+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値の最小値は特に限定されず、0以上であればよい。また、前記a+2b+3c-(x+y+2z)の絶対値が0である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
<構造>
本発明のヒドリド伝導体は温度条件等により構造が歪むと考えられ、構造を一義に定めることは困難であるが、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、層状化合物であることが好ましく、層状化合物であり、かつ、前記式(1)におけるH、X1及びX2のうち層状化合物に存在する元素が層状格子間に存在することがより好ましい。
また、本発明のヒドリド伝導体の一例としては、H、X1及びX2のうち層状化合物に存在する元素が層状格子間に配置された六方晶化合物が挙げられる。
以下、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体に該当するBa2H3Xの推定される結晶構造を記載するが、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体の結晶構造は、これに限定されるものではない。
本発明のヒドリド伝導体は温度条件等により構造が歪むと考えられ、構造を一義に定めることは困難であるが、本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、層状化合物であることが好ましく、層状化合物であり、かつ、前記式(1)におけるH、X1及びX2のうち層状化合物に存在する元素が層状格子間に存在することがより好ましい。
また、本発明のヒドリド伝導体の一例としては、H、X1及びX2のうち層状化合物に存在する元素が層状格子間に配置された六方晶化合物が挙げられる。
以下、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体に該当するBa2H3Xの推定される結晶構造を記載するが、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体の結晶構造は、これに限定されるものではない。
Ba2H3Xの結晶構造はanti-Li3LaSb2構造(空間群はP3m1)であり、面を共有するHBa6とXBa6からなる8面体層が6角形のC軸に沿って交互に積み重なった形状であって、歪んだ四面体(HBa4)中に追加の水素化物アニオンを含む。また、H1の半分がXに置き換えられアニオンが秩序化されたHT-BaH2とみなすこともできる。
<不純物>
本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、M1、M2、M3、H、X1、X2とは異なる元素を不可避的不純物として含んでいてもよい。M1、M2、M3、H、X1、X2のうち本発明のヒドリド伝導体に含まれる元素の全モル量に対する、本発明のヒドリド伝導体に含まれる前記不可避的不純物の含有モル量の割合は、10%以下であることが好ましく、5%以下であることがより好ましく、1%以下であることが更に好ましく、0.1%以下であることが特に好ましい。前記割合の下限は特に限定されず、0%であってもよい。不可避不純物とは、例えば、原料中に混在する等の理由により、製造工程において不可避的に混入するものをいう。
本発明のヒドリド伝導体は、M1、M2、M3、H、X1、X2とは異なる元素を不可避的不純物として含んでいてもよい。M1、M2、M3、H、X1、X2のうち本発明のヒドリド伝導体に含まれる元素の全モル量に対する、本発明のヒドリド伝導体に含まれる前記不可避的不純物の含有モル量の割合は、10%以下であることが好ましく、5%以下であることがより好ましく、1%以下であることが更に好ましく、0.1%以下であることが特に好ましい。前記割合の下限は特に限定されず、0%であってもよい。不可避不純物とは、例えば、原料中に混在する等の理由により、製造工程において不可避的に混入するものをいう。
<欠陥>
式(1)で表される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体は、欠陥を有してもよい。
具体的には、例えば、Ba2H3Xの組成式は、実際にはBa2-δH3-2δX(δは欠陥量)で表されるBaおよびHのショットキー欠陥を持つような組成であると考えられる。
このδの範囲は、0以上であることが好ましく、0.1以上であることがより好ましく、0.2以上であることが更に好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば0.5とすることができる。また、δが0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
すなわち、式(1)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体は下記式(1’)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体であることも好ましい。

式(1’)中、M1、M2、M3、a、b、c、X1 、X2 、x、y及びzはそれぞれ、式(1)中の、M1、M2、M3、a、b、c、X1 、X2 、x、y及びzと同義であり、好ましい態様も同様である。ただし、a1-δ1、b1-δ2、c1-δ3、及び、x-(δ1+2δ2+3δ3)はいずれも、0未満となることはない。
式(1’)中、δ1は0以上であることが好ましく、0.1以上であることがより好ましく、0.2以上であることが更に好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば0.5とすることができる。また、δ1が0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1’)中、δ2は0以上であることが好ましく、0.1以上であることがより好ましく、0.2以上であることが更に好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば0.5とすることができる。また、δ2が0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1’)中、δ3は0以上であることが好ましく、0.1以上であることがより好ましく、0.2以上であることが更に好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば0.5とすることができる。また、δ3が0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
ここで、式(1’)において、H、X1及びX2よりなる群から選ばれた少なくとも1つは、H、X1及びX2よりなる群から選ばれた他の少なくとも1つが占有する原子位置を無秩序に占有してもよい。すなわち、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、いわゆる、H、X1及びX2のアンチサイト欠陥を取り得る。
上記占有の割合(理想的にHがとる全てのサイトのうち、X1又はX2が占有しているサイトの割合)は、例えば10%以上であることが好ましく、20%以上であることがより好ましい。上記割合の上限は、特に限定されないが、50%以下とすることができる。また、上記割合が0%である態様も、本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
例えば、式(1’)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体は、式(1’’)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体であってもよい。

式(1’’)中、M1、M2、M3、a、b、c、X1 、X2 、x、y、z、δ1、δ2、δ3はそれぞれ、式(1’)中のM1、M2、M3、a、b、c、X1 、X2 、x、y、z、δ1、δ2、δ3と同義であり、好ましい態様も同様である。
αは、0.1以上であることが好ましく、0.2以上であることがより好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが例えば、0.5とすることができる。また、αが0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
式(1)で表される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体は、欠陥を有してもよい。
具体的には、例えば、Ba2H3Xの組成式は、実際にはBa2-δH3-2δX(δは欠陥量)で表されるBaおよびHのショットキー欠陥を持つような組成であると考えられる。
このδの範囲は、0以上であることが好ましく、0.1以上であることがより好ましく、0.2以上であることが更に好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば0.5とすることができる。また、δが0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
すなわち、式(1)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体は下記式(1’)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体であることも好ましい。

式(1’)中、δ1は0以上であることが好ましく、0.1以上であることがより好ましく、0.2以上であることが更に好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば0.5とすることができる。また、δ1が0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。

ここで、式(1’)において、H、X1及びX2よりなる群から選ばれた少なくとも1つは、H、X1及びX2よりなる群から選ばれた他の少なくとも1つが占有する原子位置を無秩序に占有してもよい。すなわち、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、いわゆる、H、X1及びX2のアンチサイト欠陥を取り得る。

αは、0.1以上であることが好ましく、0.2以上であることがより好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが例えば、0.5とすることができる。また、αが0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。
<活性化エネルギー>
また、式(1)で表される化合物の活性化エネルギーは、60kJ・mol-1以下であることが好ましく、55kJ・mol-1以下であることがより好ましく、50kJ・mol-1以下であることが更に好ましい。下限は特に限定されないが、例えば20kJ・mol-1以上とすることができ、30kJ・mol-1以上が好ましい。
上記活性化エネルギーが小さいことにより、より低い温度範囲においてヒドリドアニオンの高速伝導が可能となると考えられる。
また、式(1)で表される化合物の活性化エネルギーは、60kJ・mol-1以下であることが好ましく、55kJ・mol-1以下であることがより好ましく、50kJ・mol-1以下であることが更に好ましい。下限は特に限定されないが、例えば20kJ・mol-1以上とすることができ、30kJ・mol-1以上が好ましい。
上記活性化エネルギーが小さいことにより、より低い温度範囲においてヒドリドアニオンの高速伝導が可能となると考えられる。
<式(2)~式(4)>
これらの中でも、式(1)で表される化合物は、下記式(2)~式(4)のいずれかで表される化合物であることが好ましい。
これらの中でも、式(1)で表される化合物は、下記式(2)~式(4)のいずれかで表される化合物であることが好ましい。

式(2)中、M2はMg又はアルカリ土類金属元素を表し、0<x<4であり、X1はハロゲン元素であり、0≦y<4であり、3<x+y≦5であり、M2及びX1はそれぞれ、複数種の元素を含んでもよい。特に、Ba2H3X(X=Cl,Br,I)は、ノルビーギャップ内、又はその近傍のヒドリドイオン伝導度を示すことが可能であり、かつ、低温領域においても、好適なヒドリドイオン伝導度を示すことが可能である。
また、式(2)で表される化合物が欠陥を含む場合、下記式(2’)で表される化合物であってもよい。
式(2’):M2 2-δHx-δX1 y
式(2’)中、M2、X1、x及びyは式(2)中のM2、X1、x及びyと同様である。ただし、2-δ、及び、x-δがそれぞれ0以下となることは無い。
式(2’)中、δは0以上であることが好ましく、0.1以上であることがより好ましく、0.2以上であることが更に好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば0.5とすることができる。また、δが0である態様も本発明の好ましい態様の1つである。また、式(2’)で表される化合物は、いわゆる、H及びX1のアンチサイト欠陥を取り得る。
式(2)中、M2はMg又はアルカリ土類金属元素を表し、0<x<4であり、X1はハロゲン元素であり、0≦y<4であり、3<x+y≦5であり、M2及びX1はそれぞれ、複数種の元素を含んでもよい。特に、Ba2H3X(X=Cl,Br,I)は、ノルビーギャップ内、又はその近傍のヒドリドイオン伝導度を示すことが可能であり、かつ、低温領域においても、好適なヒドリドイオン伝導度を示すことが可能である。

<伝導度>
本発明のヒドリド伝導体におけるヒドリド伝導度は、300℃において1×10-4S/cm以上であることが好ましく、1×10-3S/cmであることがより好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば1×10-1S/cmである。
また、本発明のヒドリド伝導体におけるヒドリド伝導度は、100℃において1×10-6S/cm以上であることが好ましく、1×10-5S/cmであることがより好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば1×10-1S/cmである。
上記ヒドリド伝導度は、後述する実施例に記載の方法により測定される。
本発明のヒドリド伝導体におけるヒドリド伝導度は、300℃において1×10-4S/cm以上であることが好ましく、1×10-3S/cmであることがより好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば1×10-1S/cmである。
また、本発明のヒドリド伝導体におけるヒドリド伝導度は、100℃において1×10-6S/cm以上であることが好ましく、1×10-5S/cmであることがより好ましい。上限は特に限定されないが、例えば1×10-1S/cmである。
上記ヒドリド伝導度は、後述する実施例に記載の方法により測定される。
<具体例>
式(1)で表される化合物の具体例としては、Ba2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3I、Ba1.9K0.1H2.9Cl、LaSrH3S、LaBaH3S、Ba2H3.5I0.5、La0.1Ba1.9H3.1Cl、Sr2H3.4Cl0.6(Sr7H12Cl2)等が挙げられるが、これに限定されるものではない。
式(1)で表される化合物の具体例としては、Ba2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3I、Ba1.9K0.1H2.9Cl、LaSrH3S、LaBaH3S、Ba2H3.5I0.5、La0.1Ba1.9H3.1Cl、Sr2H3.4Cl0.6(Sr7H12Cl2)等が挙げられるが、これに限定されるものではない。
<式(1)で表される化合物の製造方法>
式(1)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体の製造方法の一例を以下に示す。ただし、式(1)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体は、式(1)で示される組成を有してなるものであれば製造方法は特に限定されず、他の製造方法により得られたものであってもよい。
式(1)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体の製造方法の一例を以下に示す。ただし、式(1)で示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体は、式(1)で示される組成を有してなるものであれば製造方法は特に限定されず、他の製造方法により得られたものであってもよい。
本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体の製造方法の第一の態様は、少なくとも1種のA-Hの二元系からなる水素化物と、少なくとも1種のA-Xの二元系からなる化合物とを含む前駆体粉末を1GPa未満の圧力条件下で加熱する工程を含み、前記Aはアルカリ金属元素、Mg、アルカリ土類金属元素又は希土類元素を表し、前記Xはハロゲン元素又はカルコゲン元素である製造方法である。
第一の態様によれば、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体が粉末試料として得られる。
前記前駆体粉末は、例えば、A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物(たとえばNaH、BaH2、LaH3など)およびA-Xの二元系からなる化合物(たとえばNaBr、BaI2、La2S3など)を充分に混合することで得られる。
A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物、及び、A-Xの二元系からなる化合物はそれぞれ、1種単独で使用してもよいし、2種以上を併用してもよい。
例えば、A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物としてBaH2及びKHを併用することにより、式(1)におけるM1としてKを、M2としてBaを含むヒドリド伝導体を得ることができる。
前記加熱は、水素ガス、窒素ガス若しくはアルゴンガス、若しくは、これらの混合ガス雰囲気下等の不活性ガス雰囲気下、又は、真空下で行うことが好ましい。
また、前記前駆体粉末の準備のための混合等における、A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物及びA-Xの二元系からなる化合物の取り扱いも、前記不活性ガス雰囲気下、又は、真空下で行うことが好ましい。
前記加熱は、例えば、200~1600℃、0.1~100時間の加熱として行われる。加熱手段は特に限定されず、公知の方法により加熱されればよい。
前記加熱時の圧力条件は、1GPa未満であればよいが、10~500kPaであることが好ましく、50~200kPaであることがより好ましく、90~110kPaであることが更に好ましい。また、常圧(101.325kPa)下で行うことも好ましい。
上記圧力条件は、圧力発生装置等の公知の方法により付加することができ、特に限定されない。また、常圧化で行う場合、圧力を特に調整せずに行うこともできる。
第一の態様によれば、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体が粉末試料として得られる。
前記前駆体粉末は、例えば、A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物(たとえばNaH、BaH2、LaH3など)およびA-Xの二元系からなる化合物(たとえばNaBr、BaI2、La2S3など)を充分に混合することで得られる。
A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物、及び、A-Xの二元系からなる化合物はそれぞれ、1種単独で使用してもよいし、2種以上を併用してもよい。
例えば、A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物としてBaH2及びKHを併用することにより、式(1)におけるM1としてKを、M2としてBaを含むヒドリド伝導体を得ることができる。
前記加熱は、水素ガス、窒素ガス若しくはアルゴンガス、若しくは、これらの混合ガス雰囲気下等の不活性ガス雰囲気下、又は、真空下で行うことが好ましい。
また、前記前駆体粉末の準備のための混合等における、A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物及びA-Xの二元系からなる化合物の取り扱いも、前記不活性ガス雰囲気下、又は、真空下で行うことが好ましい。
前記加熱は、例えば、200~1600℃、0.1~100時間の加熱として行われる。加熱手段は特に限定されず、公知の方法により加熱されればよい。
前記加熱時の圧力条件は、1GPa未満であればよいが、10~500kPaであることが好ましく、50~200kPaであることがより好ましく、90~110kPaであることが更に好ましい。また、常圧(101.325kPa)下で行うことも好ましい。
上記圧力条件は、圧力発生装置等の公知の方法により付加することができ、特に限定されない。また、常圧化で行う場合、圧力を特に調整せずに行うこともできる。
本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体の製造方法の第二の態様は、少なくとも1種のA-Hの二元系からなる水素化物と、少なくとも1種のA-Xの二元系からなる化合物とを含む前駆体粉末を1GPa以上の高圧条件下で加熱する工程を含み、前記Aはアルカリ金属元素、Mg、アルカリ土類金属元素又は希土類元素を表し、前記Xはハロゲン元素又はカルコゲン元素である製造方法である。
第二の態様によれば、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体が粉末試料として得られる。
前記高圧条件下における圧力は、1GPa以上であればよいが、2GPa以上であることが好ましく、3GPa以上であることがより好ましく、5GPa以上であることが更に好ましい。上記圧力の上限は特に限定されないが、例えば20GPa以下とすることができる。上記圧力条件は、圧力発生装置等の公知の方法により付加することができ、特に限定されない。
このように、加熱を高圧条件下で行う場合には、ヒドリドイオン伝導体の組成制御が容易となるという利点が存在する。
例えば、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体はヒドリドイオンと、少なくとも1種の他のアニオンとを含む複合アニオン系であるといえるが、このような複合アニオン系ではアニオン間の揮発性に差が有る場合がある。そこで、上記加熱を上記高圧条件下で行うことにより、アニオンの揮発が抑制され、組成制御が容易となる。また、常圧下等の低圧条件下では合成が困難な化合物についても、高圧条件下であれば合成が可能となる場合があり、合成可能な組成域が広がると考えられる。
A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物、A-Xの二元系からなる化合物、加熱条件等はそれぞれ、上述の第一の態様と同様である。
また、第二の態様においては、生成物の水素欠損補填または合成雰囲気制御のために前駆体粉末に水素発生剤(たとえばNaBH4とCa(OH)2の混合物)を加えてもよい。
第二の態様によれば、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体が粉末試料として得られる。
前記高圧条件下における圧力は、1GPa以上であればよいが、2GPa以上であることが好ましく、3GPa以上であることがより好ましく、5GPa以上であることが更に好ましい。上記圧力の上限は特に限定されないが、例えば20GPa以下とすることができる。上記圧力条件は、圧力発生装置等の公知の方法により付加することができ、特に限定されない。
このように、加熱を高圧条件下で行う場合には、ヒドリドイオン伝導体の組成制御が容易となるという利点が存在する。
例えば、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体はヒドリドイオンと、少なくとも1種の他のアニオンとを含む複合アニオン系であるといえるが、このような複合アニオン系ではアニオン間の揮発性に差が有る場合がある。そこで、上記加熱を上記高圧条件下で行うことにより、アニオンの揮発が抑制され、組成制御が容易となる。また、常圧下等の低圧条件下では合成が困難な化合物についても、高圧条件下であれば合成が可能となる場合があり、合成可能な組成域が広がると考えられる。
A-Hの二元系からなる水素化物、A-Xの二元系からなる化合物、加熱条件等はそれぞれ、上述の第一の態様と同様である。
また、第二の態様においては、生成物の水素欠損補填または合成雰囲気制御のために前駆体粉末に水素発生剤(たとえばNaBH4とCa(OH)2の混合物)を加えてもよい。
また、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、粉末状態で製造した後、圧縮によりペレット状として使用してもよいし、公知のバインダー等と混合して厚膜形態で使用してもよい。また、スパッタリングなどの蒸着工程により薄膜形態として使用することも可能である。
(触媒)
本発明の触媒は、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体からなる触媒である。
本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体に含まれるヒドリドイオンは高い電子供与能を有しているため、様々な合成における高効率な触媒としての利用が想定される。
例えば、ヒドリドイオン伝導体と窒素分子との反応により、ヒドリドイオンが電子を供与することにより窒素分子中の三重結合を切断し、また電子を放出することによりヒドリドイオン伝導体中で窒素-水素環の結合が形成されると考えられる。このように、強固な結合である窒素間の三重結合の切断を行うことが可能である点で、例えば、窒素分子(窒素ガス)からのアンモニア合成に用いられる触媒としての利用が考えられる。
また、例えば、アンモニア合成反応などを包含する一般的な水素化反応を想定した場合、本発明の触媒は、その優れたヒドリドイオン伝導性により、助触媒粒子表面に強く吸着した水素原子および触媒粒子内のヒドリドイオンの拡散を促進し、一般的な水素化触媒の劣化原因である水素被毒を軽減できると考えられる。このように、触媒表面および内部のヒドリドイオンの拡散を促進することが可能という点で、高効率および長寿命な水素化触媒としての利用が考えられる。
ヒドリドイオン伝導体の触媒としての利用について、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体を用いる以外の点については、例えば、Science 28 Jun 2013:Vol. 340, Issue 6140, pp. 1549-1552の記載等を参照することができる。
本発明の触媒は、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体からなる触媒である。
本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体に含まれるヒドリドイオンは高い電子供与能を有しているため、様々な合成における高効率な触媒としての利用が想定される。
例えば、ヒドリドイオン伝導体と窒素分子との反応により、ヒドリドイオンが電子を供与することにより窒素分子中の三重結合を切断し、また電子を放出することによりヒドリドイオン伝導体中で窒素-水素環の結合が形成されると考えられる。このように、強固な結合である窒素間の三重結合の切断を行うことが可能である点で、例えば、窒素分子(窒素ガス)からのアンモニア合成に用いられる触媒としての利用が考えられる。

(電池用電解質、電池)
本発明の電池用電解質は、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体を含み、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体からなる電池用電解質であることが好ましい。
本発明の電池用電解質は、固体電解質であることが好ましい。

本発明の電池の一例としては、正極にTiH2、負極にTi、固体電解質に本発明のヒドリド伝導体を用いた電池が挙げられる。
前記電池においては、正極及び負極において下記電極反応が進行することにより、起電力が発生すると考えられる。すなわち、TiH2から放出された水素がH-として本発明のヒドリド伝導体により伝導されてTi電極に吸蔵されると考えられる。
ヒドリド伝導体を用いた電池として、本発明のヒドリド伝導体を用いること以外の構成の詳細については、例えば、Science 18 Mar 2016:Vol. 351, Issue 6279, pp. 1314-1317の記載等を参照することができる。
前記電池においては、正極及び負極において下記電極反応が進行することにより、起電力が発生すると考えられる。すなわち、TiH2から放出された水素がH-として本発明のヒドリド伝導体により伝導されてTi電極に吸蔵されると考えられる。
ヒドリド伝導体を用いた電池として、本発明のヒドリド伝導体を用いること以外の構成の詳細については、例えば、Science 18 Mar 2016:Vol. 351, Issue 6279, pp. 1314-1317の記載等を参照することができる。
以下に製造例及び実施例を挙げて本発明の特徴をさらに具体的に説明する。以下に示す材料、処理内容、処理手順等は、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない限り適宜変更することができる。したがって、本発明の範囲は以下に示す製造例又は実施例により限定的に解釈されるものではない。
<製造例1:Ba2H3X(X=Cl、Br又はI)の常圧合成法による合成>
BaH2、BaX2(X=Cl、Br又はI)を物質量比1:3で混合した。ペレット化した試料を真空引きした石英管に封入した。それを電気炉中で650℃、20時間保持の条件で加熱した。BaH2および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
BaH2、BaX2(X=Cl、Br又はI)を物質量比1:3で混合した。ペレット化した試料を真空引きした石英管に封入した。それを電気炉中で650℃、20時間保持の条件で加熱した。BaH2および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
<製造例2:Ba2H3X(X=Cl、Br又はI)の高圧合成法による合成>
BaH2、BaX2(X=Cl、Br又はI)を物質量比1:3で混合した。ペレット化した試料を高圧合成用のセルに充填した。高圧合成用セルは、圧力媒体として中空のパイロフィライトブロックを用いており、内側に熱源としてグラファイトスリーブを設置した。グラファイトスリーブと試料の接触を避けるために、さらに内側にBNスリーブを置き、その内側へ試料ペレットを充填した。キュービックアンビル型高圧発生装置を用いて、高圧合成用セルに1GPaの圧力をかけた。所定の圧力に達した後、600~900℃の温度に加熱して1時間保持した。BaH2および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。

<製造例3:Ba1.9K0.1H2.9Clの高圧合成法による合成>
BaH2、BaCl2、KHを物質量比28:10:2で混合した。ペレット化した試料を高圧合成用のセルに充填した。高圧合成用セルは、圧力媒体として中空のパイロフィライトブロックを用いており、内側に熱源としてグラファイトスリーブを設置した。グラファイトスリーブと試料の接触を避けるために、さらに内側にBNスリーブを置き、その内側へ試料ペレットを充填した。キュービックアンビル型高圧発生装置を用いて、高圧合成用セルに1GPaの圧力をかけた。所定の圧力に達した後、600~900℃の温度に加熱して1時間保持した。BaH2、KHおよび生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
BaH2、BaCl2、KHを物質量比28:10:2で混合した。ペレット化した試料を高圧合成用のセルに充填した。高圧合成用セルは、圧力媒体として中空のパイロフィライトブロックを用いており、内側に熱源としてグラファイトスリーブを設置した。グラファイトスリーブと試料の接触を避けるために、さらに内側にBNスリーブを置き、その内側へ試料ペレットを充填した。キュービックアンビル型高圧発生装置を用いて、高圧合成用セルに1GPaの圧力をかけた。所定の圧力に達した後、600~900℃の温度に加熱して1時間保持した。BaH2、KHおよび生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
<製造例4:LaAH3S(A=Sr及びBa)の合成>
出発物質として、異なる次の二通りの物質の組み合わせを用いた。
i) La2S3、LaH3-x、AH2(A=Sr及びBa)を物質量比1:1:3
ii) LaH3-x、AS(A = Srおよび Ba)を物質量比1:1
出発物質i)またはii)を所定の物質量比で混合し、ペレット化した試料を高圧合成用のセルに充填した。高圧合成用セルは、圧力媒体として中空のパイロフィライトブロックを用いており、内側に熱源としてグラファイトスリーブを設置した。グラファイトスリーブと試料の接触を避けるために、さらに内側にBNスリーブを置き、その内側へ試料ペレットを充填した。LaH3-xの水素欠損を補うために、水素発生剤を用いた。NaBH4およびCa(OH)2を1:2の物質量比で混合した粉末をペレット化して高圧合成用セルに充填した。このとき試料と直接の接触を避けるためにBNペレットを間に挟んだ。キュービックアンビル型高圧発生装置を用いて、高圧合成用セルに1~3 GPaの圧力をかけた。所定の圧力に達した後、600~900℃の温度に加熱して1時間保持した。LaH3-x、AH2、および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
出発物質として、異なる次の二通りの物質の組み合わせを用いた。
i) La2S3、LaH3-x、AH2(A=Sr及びBa)を物質量比1:1:3
ii) LaH3-x、AS(A = Srおよび Ba)を物質量比1:1
出発物質i)またはii)を所定の物質量比で混合し、ペレット化した試料を高圧合成用のセルに充填した。高圧合成用セルは、圧力媒体として中空のパイロフィライトブロックを用いており、内側に熱源としてグラファイトスリーブを設置した。グラファイトスリーブと試料の接触を避けるために、さらに内側にBNスリーブを置き、その内側へ試料ペレットを充填した。LaH3-xの水素欠損を補うために、水素発生剤を用いた。NaBH4およびCa(OH)2を1:2の物質量比で混合した粉末をペレット化して高圧合成用セルに充填した。このとき試料と直接の接触を避けるためにBNペレットを間に挟んだ。キュービックアンビル型高圧発生装置を用いて、高圧合成用セルに1~3 GPaの圧力をかけた。所定の圧力に達した後、600~900℃の温度に加熱して1時間保持した。LaH3-x、AH2、および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
<製造例5:Sr7H12Cl2(Sr2H3.43Cl0.57)の合成>
SrH2、SrCl2を物質量比6:1で混合した。ペレット化した試料を真空引きした石英管に封入した。それを電気炉中で650℃、20時間保持の条件で加熱した。SrH2および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いは、N2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
SrH2、SrCl2を物質量比6:1で混合した。ペレット化した試料を真空引きした石英管に封入した。それを電気炉中で650℃、20時間保持の条件で加熱した。SrH2および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いは、N2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
<製造例6:Ba2H3Xハロゲン混合体(X=Cl,Br,I)の合成>
BaH2、BaCl2、BaBr2、BaI2を物質量比3:x:y:1-(x+y)(0≦x≦1,0≦y≦1,0≦x+y≦1)で混合した。ペレット化した試料を真空引きした石英管に封入した。それを電気炉中で650℃、20時間保持の条件で加熱した。BaH2および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
BaH2、BaCl2、BaBr2、BaI2を物質量比3:x:y:1-(x+y)(0≦x≦1,0≦y≦1,0≦x+y≦1)で混合した。ペレット化した試料を真空引きした石英管に封入した。それを電気炉中で650℃、20時間保持の条件で加熱した。BaH2および生成物は大気中で非常に不安定であるため、試料の取り扱いはN2雰囲気のグローブボックス中で行った。
<XRD測定結果>
製造例1において得られたBa2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3Iの放射光粉末X線回折測定(XRD)の結果を図1に示す。図1において、縦軸は回折強度、横軸は回折角度である。
また、製造例1において得られたBa2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3I、製造例2で得られたBa2H3Clについて、a軸長(a(Å))及びc軸長(c(Å))を導出し、表1に記載した。また、表1中、ICSDと記載された欄の記載は、各化合物の無機結晶構造データベース(ICSD)に記載の値である。
表1に示した結果から、常圧で合成した場合、高圧で合成した場合のいずれにおいても、c軸長の値がICSDに記載された値とは異なっていることがわかる。
また、製造例4において得られたLaSrH3Sの放射光粉末X線回折測定(XRD)の結果を図2に、製造例5において得られたSr7H12Cl2(Sr2H3.43Cl0.57)の放射光粉末X線回折測定(XRD)の結果を図3に、それぞれ記載した。
図2には各ピークに対応するMiller指数を記載した。
図3中、SrOは出発物質であるSrH2(純度99.5%)に含まれるものと推測される。また、Kapton tapeは空気不安定試料を測定するときに用いられる空気遮蔽用のテープである。
製造例1において得られたBa2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3Iの放射光粉末X線回折測定(XRD)の結果を図1に示す。図1において、縦軸は回折強度、横軸は回折角度である。
また、製造例1において得られたBa2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3I、製造例2で得られたBa2H3Clについて、a軸長(a(Å))及びc軸長(c(Å))を導出し、表1に記載した。また、表1中、ICSDと記載された欄の記載は、各化合物の無機結晶構造データベース(ICSD)に記載の値である。
表1に示した結果から、常圧で合成した場合、高圧で合成した場合のいずれにおいても、c軸長の値がICSDに記載された値とは異なっていることがわかる。
また、製造例4において得られたLaSrH3Sの放射光粉末X線回折測定(XRD)の結果を図2に、製造例5において得られたSr7H12Cl2(Sr2H3.43Cl0.57)の放射光粉末X線回折測定(XRD)の結果を図3に、それぞれ記載した。
図2には各ピークに対応するMiller指数を記載した。

表2には、既に報告されている単結晶の場合のデータも比較のために併記した。
製造例6において得られたBa2H3Xハロゲン混合体(X=Cl,Br,I)には、かなりの量のBa2+と2H-のショットキー欠陥が含まれている。

<電気化学インピーダンス測定>
合成時に得らえれた試料ペレット(直径4~10mm、厚さ1~3mm)をそのまま導電測定に用いた。試料ペレットの両側にAuまたはMo電極を蒸着またはスパッタにより取り付けた。水素雰囲気下、周波数領域は0.1-10 MHz、温度は室温から400度までの昇温・降温過程について、a Bio-Logic VSP-300を用いて電気化学インピーダンス測定を行った。
合成時に得らえれた試料ペレット(直径4~10mm、厚さ1~3mm)をそのまま導電測定に用いた。試料ペレットの両側にAuまたはMo電極を蒸着またはスパッタにより取り付けた。水素雰囲気下、周波数領域は0.1-10 MHz、温度は室温から400度までの昇温・降温過程について、a Bio-Logic VSP-300を用いて電気化学インピーダンス測定を行った。
図4に、製造例1において得られたBa2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3I、製造例3において得られたBa1.9K0.1H2.9Cl、製造例4において得られたLaSrH3S及びLaBaH3Sの電気化学インピーダンス測定の結果(アレニウスプロット)を示す。
また、図4には、比較用として、BaH2、La0.6Sr1.4LiH1.6O2、La0.6Sr1.4LiH1.6O2、LaH2.52O0.24、LaHOのヒドリドイオン伝導性(アレニウスプロット)を記載した。
以上の結果から、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、高いヒドリドイオン伝導性を有しており、また、特に常圧での合成法により合成されたもので優れたヒドリドイオン伝導性を有することがわかる。
また、特に製造例1において合成されたヒドリドイオン伝導体は、100℃以下の低温領域においてもヒドリド伝導が可能であることがわかる。
また、図4には、比較用として、BaH2、La0.6Sr1.4LiH1.6O2、La0.6Sr1.4LiH1.6O2、LaH2.52O0.24、LaHOのヒドリドイオン伝導性(アレニウスプロット)を記載した。
以上の結果から、本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、高いヒドリドイオン伝導性を有しており、また、特に常圧での合成法により合成されたもので優れたヒドリドイオン伝導性を有することがわかる。
また、特に製造例1において合成されたヒドリドイオン伝導体は、100℃以下の低温領域においてもヒドリド伝導が可能であることがわかる。
図5に、製造例1において得られたBa2H3Cl、Ba2H3Br、Ba2H3Iの昇温時(図5A)及び降温時(図5(B))の電気化学インピーダンス測定の結果(アレニウスプロット)を示す。
また、表3に、各化合物における300℃のヒドリドイオン伝導度、及び、活性化エネルギーを記載した。
測定条件は下記のとおりとした。測定はH2雰囲気下で行った。
測定電圧:500mV
周波数領域:7MHz~0.1Hz
電極:Au電極/サンプル/Au電極
加熱手段:IRヒータ
また、図6には、製造例1において得られたBa2H3I(200℃)の電気化学インピーダンス測定の結果(Cole-Coleプロット)を示す。
また、表3に、各化合物における300℃のヒドリドイオン伝導度、及び、活性化エネルギーを記載した。
測定条件は下記のとおりとした。測定はH2雰囲気下で行った。
測定電圧:500mV
周波数領域:7MHz~0.1Hz
電極:Au電極/サンプル/Au電極
加熱手段:IRヒータ
また、図6には、製造例1において得られたBa2H3I(200℃)の電気化学インピーダンス測定の結果(Cole-Coleプロット)を示す。
図7に、製造例6において得られたBa2H3X(X=Cl,Br,I)の電気化学インピーダンス測定の結果(アレニウスプロット)を示す。また、表4に、各化合物における300℃のヒドリドイオン伝導度、及び、活性化エネルギーを記載した。いずれのハロゲン混合比の試料においても、安定して10-3S/cm(300℃)を超える高いイオン伝導度を示した。
以上の結果から、今回の化合物においては、ハロゲンイオンのイオン半径が大きいほどヒドリドイオン導電性は高く、活性化エネルギーは小さいことがわかる。
以上の結果から、本発明の式(1)で示されるヒドリド伝導体は、ヒドリド伝導性を有することが確認された。
本発明のヒドリドイオン伝導体は、化学合成、エネルギーデバイス等の様々な分野における利用が想定される組成物である。
このため、本発明は産業上の利用可能性が高い。

Claims (16)
- 式(1):M1 aM2 bM3 cHxX1 yX2 zで示される組成を有してなるヒドリドイオン伝導体;
式(1)中、M1はアルカリ金属元素を表し、M2はMg又はアルカリ土類金属元素を表し、M3は希土類金属元素を表し、0≦a≦1、0≦b≦2、0≦c≦2であり、1<a+b+c≦2であり、0<x<4であり、X1はハロゲン元素であり、0≦y<4であり、X2はカルコゲン元素であり、X2が酸素のみを表す場合、0≦z<1であり、X2が酸素以外のカルコゲン元素を含む元素を表す場合、0≦z<3であり、3<x+y+z≦5であり、M1、M2、M3、X1及びX2はそれぞれ、複数種の元素を含んでもよい。 - 酸素原子を含まないか、又は、X1及びX2の合計モル量に対し、酸素原子の含有モル量が5%以下である、請求項1に記載のヒドリドイオン伝導体。
