Abstract

The present invention refers to a dietary supplement or food comprising bovine, fish or vegetable collagen and L-leucine.

Description

“FOOD OR DIETARY SUPPLEMENT BASED ON PLANT EXTRACTS”.
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention refers to a new dietary supplement or, in any case, traditional food with different tastes.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Many food supplements have been proposed, particularly for dietary purposes.
Thus, for example, the European patent EP2068658B1 relates to a food supplement with a basic mixture of ingredients having a vegetable or animal protein and a vegetable-based protein activator.
The Italian patent n. 1427785 instead relates to a dietary supplement having a first plant extract obtained from Griffonia simplicifolia and a second plant extract is obtained from one or more plants belonging to the genus Lespedeza.
These supplements, also if on the one hand they ensure a correct nutrition of the respective users and also if desired a controlled weight loss of the same, are unable to prevent a softening or sagging of the skin during weight loss.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is that to provide a new dietary supplement or traditional food.
Another object of the present invention is that to provide a supplement or traditional food able to regulate appetite and the sense of hunger and thus facilitate the weight-loss of a user, but which at the same time guarantees the maintenance of a firm and stable skin.
Another purpose of the present invention is that to provide a traditional food or supplement based on plant extracts comprising ingredient of vegetable source.
Another object of the present invention is that to provide a dietary supplement or traditional food that can be easily digested and assimilable by the organism.
According to an aspect of the present invention, a dietary supplement or food in general according to claim 1 is provided.
The dependent claims refer to advantageous features of the invention.
EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
The present invention refers to a dietary supplement or food comprising bovine, fish or vegetable collagen, which can be or not hydrolysed, and L-leucine. Preferably, hydrolysed bovine collagen is used.
Preferably, collagen is present in a percentage by weight between about 5% and 15% on the total weight of the supplement or food, for example between 10% and 12%, for example equal to about 11% on the total weight of the supplement or food.
The function of collagen, in particular of hydrolysed bovine collagen, is to prevent the skin from softening or becoming “sagging” in the case of a diet. Moreover, this component is also an excellent antioxidant.
Advantageously, L-leucine is present in a percentage by weight between about 2% and 10% on the total weight of the supplement or food, for example between 5.5% and 6.5%, if desired equal to about 5.9% or 5.904% on the total weight of the supplement or food.
The L-leucine function is that of:
- building and maintaining muscle tissue;
- promoting protein synthesis in the muscles and liver;
- slowing down the decomposition of muscle proteins;
- promoting cell regeneration processes;
- stimulating protein synthesis in the muscles;
- catalyzing muscle growth;
- regulating blood sugar levels;
- helping burn the deepest layer of body fat;
- stimulating energy production;
- keeping sports performance high.
If desired, the dietary supplement or food also includes concentrated juice (for example with a degree of concentration equal to D:E/10:1) of acerola (Malpighia punicifolia L.), if desired in powder, in a percentage by weight between about 0,5% and 2% on the total weight, for example between 0.9% and 1%, if desired, equal to about 0.95% or 0.9524% on the total weight of the supplement or food.
The function of concentrated acerola juice is to provide an antioxidant action and as a source of natural vitamin C.
Milk proteins, for example chosen from the group including calcium caseinate, hydrolysed whey proteins (whey protein hydrolysate) and/or lecithin, may also be present in the supplement or food. Milk proteins can be present, for example, in a percentage by weight of between 40% and 80% on the total weight.
Another component that may be present in the supplement or food is avocado juice (Persea americana Mill.), If desired in powder, in a percentage by weight that can be between about 0.1% and 1% on the total weight, for example between about 0.3% and 0.4% on the total weight, if desired equal to about 0.318% on the total weight of the supplement or food. This component is an excellent antioxidant and tonic.
The food supplement or food can then also comprise b-galactosidase (lactase enzyme), if desired in a percentage by weight between about 0.01% and 1% on the total weight, for example between about 0.045% and about 0.055%, if desired equal to about 0.048% on the total weight of the supplement or food. The function of b-galactosidase is to improve the digestion of lactose in subjects who poorly digest lactose.
Preferably, the b-galactosidase activity is equal to 4500 FCC.
If desired, the food supplement or food also includes melon juice, for example coated lyophilisate (Cucumis melo L.) in a percentage by weight that can be between about 0.01% and 0.5% on the total weight, for example equal about 0.064% on the total weight. The function of melon juice is to promote the trophism of the skin.
This component can be obtained from freeze-dried melon juice with the addition of a coating agent, such as shellac.
Furthermore, the dietary supplement or food can also be provided with an activator element chosen from the group consisting of acacia gum fiber or Acacia gum fibre, dry or powdered extract of the fruit of papaya (Carica papaya L.), dry or powdered extract of pineapple fruit (Ananas comosus L.), dry or powdered extract of mallow flower (Malva sylvestris), dry or powdered extract of star anise fruit (Illicium verum), dry or powdered extract of the fennel fruit (Foeniculum vulgare), dry or powdered extract of artichoke leaf (Cynara scolimus L.), dry or powdered extract of dandelion leaf (Taraxacum officinalis), dry or powdered extract of Lespedeza (Lespedeza capitata), dry or powdered extract of Griffonia (Griffonia simplicifolia), dry or powdered extract of frangula bark (Rhamnus frangula L.) and their combinations.
The activator element is present in the supplement or food for example in a percentage by weight between 6% and 10%, for example between 7% and 10% or between 7.5% and 8.5%, if desired equal to approximately 7.9%.
Clearly, other components may also be present in the supplement or food, such as excipients, for example flavorings, an anti-caking agent, thickeners and sweeteners. Preferably, a dietary supplement or food according to the present invention is supplied in doses between 28 and 34 grams, for example about 31.5 grams, if desired in sachets or the like, for example to be poured into water for consumption by a user.
Even more preferably, in a dose or single dose of about 31.5 grams of supplement or food there may be: about 3.5 grams of collagen, preferably hydrolysed bovine collagen, about 1.86 grams of L-leucine, if desired about 0.3 grams of concentrated acerola juice, if desired about 0.1 grams of avocado juice, if desired about 0.015 grams of b-galactosidase, if desired about 0.02 grams of coated freeze-dried melon juice.
It has been possible to verify that a supplement or common food according to the present invention is able to regulate the appetite and the sense of hunger and therefore facilitate the weight loss of a user, but thanks to the components provided therein, in particular the hydrolysed bovine collagen, it guarantees the maintenance of a firm and stable skin.
Changes and variants of the invention are possible within the scope of protection defined by the claims.
