Abstract
The present invention relates to a catheter coated with both internal and external antibiotics, which can change colour due to heat increase in the use area during the inflammation process as it contains biocompatible substances with different expansion rates aiming to minimize the complications that may occur during use.
Description
A MULTI-LUMEN ANTIBIOTICS AND ANTITHROMBOTICS IMPREGNATED
VENOUS CATHETER
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a catheter coated with both internal and external antibiotics, which can change colour due to heat increase in the use area during the inflammation process as it contains biocompatible substances with different expansion rates aiming to minimize the complications that may occur during use.
PRIOR ART
Known as a piece of medical equipment used in the medical field, the catheter is a device that is inserted into a duct, vein or body cavity that is needed for treatment in the body. In medical interventions, it helps to easily insert liquids that need to be injected into a person's body, to drain them or to expel liquids that need to be expelled from the body.
Single or multiple intravenous catheter sets allow a single intervention to be performed on many clinical interventions. Thanks to these catheters, central venous pressure monitoring, continuous and concurrent administration of incompatible drugs, taking blood samples, giving blood and blood products, total parenteral nutrition (TPN) applications can be performed. These materials facilitating the work of the health personnel in daily practice, have many advantages, as well as the infections that develop during the procedure, obstructive dysfunction and, most importantly, the subsequent treatment applications and the length of hospital stay of the patient can be changed by causing thrombosis. (Clotting in the vein wall).
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The catheter produced from biocompatible substances subject to the present invention changes colour depending on the temperature increase that will occur in case of inflammation in the use area and thus allows it to be understood that there is inflammation. The biocompatible material to be used is at least one of the
polyurethane and teflon substances. The reason for selecting these substances is that they reduce the clotting in the vein where they are inserted.
The catheter has been coated with tetracycline derivative antibiotics such as clopidogrel, tetracycline and minocycline that both internal and external antirheumatic agents of the catheter. Thus, a product coated with an antiseptic that will prevent local infection and will not harm human health and minimize complications has been presented. The catheter body is flat, its lumen is oval and its tip is hydro-type. A miniature pressure transducer is placed in one of the two catheter lumens outside the body. Small pressure changes in the vessel with the application device, a slowdown in blood flow in the vessel, catheter clogging, etc. can be detected in an easy and early manner.
In addition, the miniature pressure transducer can be detected in advance wherein placing flexible temperature-gauge sensors in the proximal part of the catheter lumen in which an application device is placed, thereby preventing thermal changes (depending on both infection and the inflammation due to clotting there) and preventing catheter-related complications.
Claims
1. A catheter produced from at least one of the bioluminescent polyurethane and teflon substances, characterized by coated with tetracycline derivative antibiotic, which is an antirheumatic agent that minimizes the antiseptic and complications that will prevent its internal and external local infection and contains at least two lumens outside the body.
2. The lumen of Claim 1 is characterized in that comprising a miniature pressure transducer that allows pressure changes in the vein, slowing down the blood flow, detection of catheter occlusion, a flexible temperature meter sensor that allows early detection of thermal changes.
