Definitions
- the subject of the invention is a self-locking device, used as a part of the security chain for people working at heights to depreciate the forces acting on a human body in the event of a fall from the height of the person working there who is wearing personal safety devices.
- the fall absorber is designed to gently slow down the fall, up to the stop.
- a man working at heights is equipped with personal (individual) protective devices in the form of safety harness.
- To the front or back buckle of the harness are attached elements of a security chain connecting a man with a fix construction point. These are safety lines or straps, fall absorbers, self-locking devices, or several of these elements connected in series. In popular security systems, one device is used to slow down and stop falling, as the security chain should be short.
- connection eye of the rope it is attached the upper end of the shock absorber, and at the bottom end of the shock absorber is fixed snap hook to connect with the employee's safety harness, and most often the connection eye is attached with a snap hook directly in safety harness.
- the rope is unwound from the drum of the self-locking device as the employee moves away and winds on her own when an employee approaches self-locking device that is connected to a fixed construction point.
- At the top of the self-locking device there is upper connection eye, which connects through a snap hook to the fixed construction point.
- the device connects to the fixed construction point with an additional rope attached to the upper eye connected with a snap hook. Then the self-locking device lies on the ground and with the movements of the worker moves and rubs on the ground. It is therefore exposed to mechanical damage and dirt sand, dust, flooding.
- the self-locking device is placed inside the basket, which is in the form of a rotary block, while from the interior of the basket, the upper connection eye 4 protrudes from its upper base and from its lower base protrudes the lower connection eye 3.
- the self-locking device is placed inside the basket in such a way that in the upper base of the basket there is a hole in which the upper connection eye is placed, while in the upper connection eye is placed cotter pin in the form of a snap hook, with which the device connects with an additional rope connecting to the fixed construction point.
- the basket is in the form of a cut cone, of which the upper base has smaller diameter from the bottom base.
- the block of the basket is openwork and is formed from the edges of the base, which are joined together with at least two forming of the cone. Then in the upper base there is a crossbar with a hole for upper connection eye of the device.
- the device according to the invention retains all the features of the known devices and has additional advantages that are described in the following part.
- Fig. 1 in axonometric view there is shown self-locking device placed inside the openwork basket
- Fig. 2 shows the device in the basket in a side view
- Fig. 3 shows the basic variation of the device, also in a side view.
- the self-locking device 1 has two connecting eyes - bottom 2 and upper 3.
- Lower connection eye 3 in this example is part of the additional safety shock absorber 11, which ends the rope inside the device 1.
- Upper connecting eye 2 protrudes from the inside of the basket through the opening in the upper base 4.
- the basket has the shape of a cut cone, which upper base 4 has a smaller diameter than the lower base 5.
- the block of the basket is openwork, its upper base 4 is the upper edge - it is circle 6 and bottom base 5 is the bottom edge - it is circle 7. Edges 6 and 7 of the bases are joined together by three forming 8.
- the snap hook 10 is a cotter pin fixing the device in the basket, there is no need to use other elements to block device 1 in the basket.
- the snap hook 10 is used to for strapping the device with an additional rope 12 connecting the device 1 to the fixed construction point.
- the use of the device according to the invention does not differ from use of known devices, in many cases is easier.
- the basket protects sensitive mechanisms against dust, sand, water, mechanical damages.
- the openwork structure is light, the length of the security chain has not been extended.
- the basket makes it easy to move the device 1, that is locked in the basket by snap hook 10 and above all using the basket means that when you need to connect to the fixed point with an additional rope, the device does not lie on the ground and does not damage.
- the worker attaches the self-locking device placed in the basket 1 to the fixed construction point by a rope 12 attached with a snap hook 10 to the upper connection eye 2 and proceeds to work.
- the device does not rub against the surface, its movement is automatic and without jams, without too much employees effort, while the security chain is always tight.
