Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a ball rail system for extending-retracting operations of a drawer in a drawer cabinet which is secured and allows using the internal volume of the drawers in the most efficient manner.
  • Slide rail drawers known in the state of the art generally adopt a sliding mechanism that is usually fixed from inside or outside.
  • Drawers are usually mounted on drawer cabinets having rail systems. These rails allow for extending the drawer out from the cabinet fully, thereby granting complete access to the drawer. Furthermore, drawers are maintained in a horizontal direction independently of drawer's extension distance from the cabinet.
  • Rail mechanisms can be separated into two groups as fully extending rails and partially extending rails.
  • Full extension rails allow for fully extending the drawer out of the cabinet.
  • Partial extension rails allow for extending the drawer partially while keeping a certain part of the drawer inside the cabinet.
  • Full extension rails are composed of 3 parts of metal sheets while partial extension rails consist of 2.
  • Rail mechanisms have serious technical drawbacks. Primarily, slide mechanisms that are fixed from inside and outside require significant machining accuracy as well as installation accuracy. In case a dimensional deviation or an installation fault occurs during the installation of sliding rail, drawer will be affected directly.
  • Drawers have been installed to cabinet bodies by means of telescopic slides for such a long time.
  • These said telescopic sliding rails usually comprise ball bearings facilitating their movements, however, they also aggravate installation and maintenance operations.
  • a sidewall of the second rail has a mounting portion to be mounted to a mounting member on the lateral side of the chassis.
  • the ball assembly movably mounted between the rails in order to facilitate relative sliding thereof, comprises a ball retainer of which lateral portion corresponds in position to the space between a sidewall of the first rail and the sidewall of the second rail.
  • the sidewall of the second rail includes a projecting block for pushing the lateral portion of the ball retainer, keeping the lateral portion close to the sidewall of the first rail.
  • Said patent document discloses a sliding device for guiding a drawer such that the drawer is extended from or retracted into a storage body.
  • Said sliding device comprises sliding rails each of which having a pair of flanges, and balls slidably connecting the sliding rails to each other.
  • each flange includes a raceway on which a portion of the corresponding ball is disposed. These raceways guide the ball such that the ball rolls in a direction of extension or retraction of the drawer.
