Description

显示器及其制造方法 技术领域
本发明涉及一种显示器领域,尤其涉及一种低反射的液晶显示屏及其制造方法。
背景技术
目前常用液晶显示器有扭转向列型(twist nematic,TN)模式,垂直对齐(vertical alignment,VA)模式,平面方向转换(In-plane switching,IPS)模式和边缘场开关(Fringe Field Switching,FFS)模式等。现有VA显示模式中最常用为聚合物稳定垂直配向(Polymer stabilized vertical alignment,PSVA)技术,因其具有高对比度和响应速度快的优势。随着显示技术的快速发展,PSVA液晶显示已经成为了目前最广泛的显示技术,但人们对显示技术的要求也越来越高,广视角、高穿透率一直是未来发展的重要方向。而PSVA的穿透率(transmission,Tr)与液晶的平均折射率(Δn)关系如下式1所示,随着波长(λ)增大,平均折射率(Δn)逐渐减小,导致在短波长区域穿透率(Tr)容易出现反转,即电压增大时长波长区域穿透率(Tr)增加而短波长区域穿透率(Tr)降低,导致颜色偏黄(蓝色亮度低,红色及绿色亮度高,色点偏黄),如图1及图2所示。图1为液晶的平均折射率(Δn)随波长变化图;图2为不同波长区域的穿 透率(Tr)随电压变化图。

提高显示装置的穿透率的最有效方式之一是提高液晶的Δnd,增加液晶厚度(d)即加大面板盒厚,会使液晶用量增加成本上升;常用方式是维持液晶厚度(d)不变,增加液晶的平均折射率(Δn)。但增大平均折射率(Δn)更容易使短波长穿透率(Tr)发生反转,出现颜色偏黄问题。而且色点越黄,视角越差。
技术问题
为了解决显示器的色偏问题影响用户体验,亟需一种可改善色偏问题且可实现高穿透率的液晶显示器。
技术解决方案
有鉴于此,本发明提供一种新的显示器,通过增加液晶的平均折射率(Δn)提高穿显示装置的透率,同时在蓝色区域的液晶中加入手性剂,可以增加Δn的同时维持蓝色在高亮度时不发生反转,改善色点偏黄或偏绿的问题,从而实现高穿透率大视角显示。同时,在液晶盒内部制作多个突起结构将液晶密封,限制液晶流动,也可以作为柔性显示装置。
据此,依据本发明的一实施例,本发明提供了一种显示器,包括:一晶体管基板;一彩膜基板,配置于所述晶 体管基板上;一液晶盒,配置于所述晶体管基板与所述彩膜基板之间,所述液晶盒中包括多个突起结构,将所述液晶盒分隔成第一液晶区与第二液晶区,其中所述第一液晶区对应蓝色画素,而所述第二液晶区对应红色画素及/或绿色画素,且所述第一液晶区及所述第二液晶区中分别包括第一液晶及第二液晶,其中所述第一液晶及所述第二液晶具有相异的平均折射率和厚度的乘积。
依据本发明的另一实施例,本发明还提供了一种显示器的制造方法,包括:
S10提供一晶体管基板;
S20提供一彩膜基板;
S30形成多个突起结构于所述晶体管基板上或所述彩膜基板上,以定义出第一液晶区与第二液晶区,其中所述第一液晶区对应蓝色画素,而所述第二液晶区对应红色画素及/或绿色画素;
S40将第一液晶及第二液晶分别注入第一液晶区及第二液晶区,其中所述第一液晶及所述第二液晶具有相异的平均折射率和厚度的乘积;以及
S50将所述晶体管基板及所述彩膜基板对组,以在所述晶体管基板及所述彩膜基板之间定义出一液晶盒,得到所述显示器。
依据本发明的一实施例,步骤S40更包括:在所述第 一液晶中添加一手性剂,得到一混有一手性剂的所述第一液晶。
依据本发明的一实施例,所述多个突起结构包括下列至少一者:至少一黑色矩阵、至少一感光间隙材、以及一彩色滤光层,配置于所述彩膜基板下。
依据本发明的一实施例,所述第一液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为350nm至450nm。
依据本发明的一实施例,所述第二液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为290nm至380nm。
依据本发明的一实施例,所述第一及第二液晶的螺距(pitch)皆为液晶盒厚度(cell gap)的2倍到7倍。
有益效果
本发明提供一种新的显示器,通过增加液晶的平均折射率(Δn)提高穿显示装置的透率,同时在蓝色区域的液晶中加入手性剂,可以增加Δn的同时维持蓝色在高亮度时不发生反转,改善色点偏黄或偏绿的问题,从而实现高穿透率大视角显示。同时,在液晶盒内部制作多个突起结构将液晶密封,限制液晶流动,也可以作为柔性显示装置。

图3为依据本发明一实施例的显示器的制造方法的流程图。图4为依据本发明一实施例的显示器的示意图。一并参见图3及图4,具体而言,本发明的显示器100的制造方法,包括以下步骤:
S10提供一晶体管基板10。
S20提供一彩膜基板20。
在一具体实施例中,步骤S10及S20包括:所述晶体管基板10,具有第一电极(图未示);所述彩膜基板20,具有第二电极(图未示),可视情况在所述晶体管基板10及/或所述彩膜基板20上增加红绿蓝彩色滤光层、黑矩阵、及/或感光间隙材(图未示),分别用于实现彩色显示、 防止漏光及提供盒厚,同时可形成液晶挡墙结构。所述晶体管基板10及/或所述彩膜基板20可以为柔性基板或者普通基板。
S30形成多个突起结构30于所述晶体管基板10上或所述彩膜基板20上,以定义出第一液晶区40a与第二液晶区40b,其中所述第一液晶区40a对应蓝色画素,而所述第二液晶区40b对应红色画素R及/或绿色画素G,如图4所示。
在一具体实施例中,步骤S30包括:在所述晶体管基板10或所述彩膜基板20上制作多个突起结构30。在步骤30中,所述多个突起结构30可以采用黑色矩阵、感光间隙材、及/或彩色滤光层叠加实现,配置于所述彩膜基板20下,如图4所示。在本发明的其他实施例中,所述多个突起结构30也可以单独采用其他材料通过光刻或者压印等方式获得。同时在基板上制作配向层(图未示),所述配向层可以在多个突起结构30制备前制作,或者在多个突起结构30制备后制作。
在一具体实施例中,步骤S30包括:所述多个突起结构30将蓝色画素B与红色画素R和绿色画素G隔开。在本发明的其他实施例中,也可以根据实际需要将R/G/B分别隔开,如图4所示。
S40将第一液晶及第二液晶b分别注入第一液晶区 40a及第二液晶区40b,其中所述第一液晶a及所述第二液晶b具有相异的平均折射率和厚度的乘积。
在本发明的一实施例中,步骤S40更包括:在所述第一液晶a中添加一手性剂,得到一混有一手性剂的所述第一液晶a。
在一具体实施例中,步骤S40包括:分别将第一液晶a和第二液晶b滴入有多个突起结构30的基板侧,液晶注入方式可以为喷墨打印(ink-jet printing,IJP)方式或者其他方式。所述液晶为负性液晶。在本发明的一实施例中,所述第一液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为350nm至450nm;而所述第二液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为290nm至380nm。
S50将所述晶体管基板10及所述彩膜基板20对组,以在所述晶体管基板10及所述彩膜基板20之间定义出一液晶盒40,得到所述显示器,如图4所示。
在一具体实施例中,步骤S50包括:进行贴合形成液晶盒,对液晶和进行聚合物稳定垂直配向(Polymer stabilized vertical alignment,PSVA)制程处理,即加电进行紫外线(UV)照射,使液晶形成预倾角,形成所示液晶显示装置,如图4所示。
在上述具体实施例中,显示器的不同液晶不同波长穿透频谱如图5所示,5V/7V/9V曲线对应未添加手性剂的 一般液晶,chiral-5V/7V/9V曲线对应添加手性剂的液晶,可以看出,在不同电压状态下增加手性剂可以有效增加短波长区域,即增加500nm以下区域的穿透率,从而增加蓝色光的亮度,即改善白点偏绿、偏黄的问题。
据此,如图4所示,依据本发明的显示器的制造方法所得之显示器100,包括:一晶体管基板10;一彩膜基板20,配置于所述晶体管基板10上;一液晶盒40,配置于所述晶体管基板10与所述彩膜基板20之间,所述液晶盒40中包括多个突起结构30,将所述液晶盒40分隔成第一液晶区40a与第二液晶区40b,其中所述第一液晶区40a对应蓝色画素,而所述第二液晶区40b对应红色画素R及/或绿色画素G,且所述第一液晶区40a及所述第二液晶区40b中分别包括第一液晶及第二液晶,其中所述第一液晶及所述第二液晶具有相异的平均折射率和厚度的乘积。
在本发明的一实施例中,维持所述第一液晶区40a及第二液晶区40b的螺距为第一液晶区40a及第二液晶区40b间距的2倍到7倍,其中所述第一液晶区40a对应蓝色画素;而所述第二液晶区40b对应红色画素和绿色画素。
在本发明的一实施例中,所述第一及第二液晶的螺距(pitch)皆为液晶盒厚度(cell gap)的2倍到7倍。
据此,本发明提供一种新的显示器,液晶中加入手性 剂,可以增加Δn的同时维持蓝色在高亮度时不发生反转,改善色点偏黄或偏绿的问题,从而实现高穿透率大视角显示。同时,在液晶盒内部制作多个突起结构将液晶密封,限制液晶流动,也可以作为柔性显示装置。
综上所述,虽然本发明已以优选实施例揭露如上,但上述优选实施例并非用以限制本发明,本领域的普通技术人员,在不脱离本发明的精神和范围内,均可作各种更动与润饰,因此本发明的保护范围以权利要求界定的范围为准。

Claims (13)

  1. 一种显示器,包括:
    晶体管基板;
    彩膜基板,配置于所述晶体管基板上;
    液晶盒,配置于所述晶体管基板与所述彩膜基板之间,所述液晶盒包括多个突起结构,所述突起结构将所述液晶盒分隔成第一液晶区与第二液晶区,其中
    所述第一液晶区对应蓝色画素,所述第二液晶区对应红色画素及/或绿色画素,且所述第一液晶区及所述第二液晶区分别包括第一液晶及第二液晶,其中所述第一液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为350nm至450nm,所述第二液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为290nm至380nm。
  2. 根据权利要求1所述的显示器,其中所述第一液晶中混有手性剂。
  3. 根据权利要求1所述的显示器,其中所述突起结构包括下列至少一者:至少一黑色矩阵、至少一感光间隙材、以及彩色滤光层,配置于所述彩膜基板下。
  4. 一种显示器,包括:
    晶体管基板;
    彩膜基板,配置于所述晶体管基板上;
    液晶盒,配置于所述晶体管基板与所述彩膜基板之 间,所述液晶盒包括多个突起结构,所述突起结构将所述液晶盒分隔成第一液晶区与第二液晶区,其中
    所述第一液晶区对应蓝色画素,所述第二液晶区对应红色画素及/或绿色画素,且所述第一液晶区及所述第二液晶区分别包括第一液晶及第二液晶,其中所述第一液晶及所述第二液晶具有相异的平均折射率和厚度的乘积。
  5. 根据权利要求4所述的显示器,其中所述第一液晶中混有手性剂。
  6. 根据权利要求4所述的显示器,其中所述突起结构包括下列至少一者:至少一黑色矩阵、至少一感光间隙材、以及彩色滤光层,配置于所述彩膜基板下。
  7. 根据权利要求4所述的显示器,其中所述第一液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为350nm至450nm。
  8. 根据权利要求4所述的显示器,其中所述第二液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为290nm至380nm。
  9. 一种显示器的制造方法,包括:
    S10提供晶体管基板;
    S20提供彩膜基板;
    S30形成多个突起结构于所述晶体管基板上或所述彩膜基板上,以定义出第一液晶区与第二液晶区,其中所述第一液晶区对应蓝色画素,所述第二液晶区对应红色画素及/或绿色画素;
    S40将第一液晶及第二液晶分别注入第一液晶区及第二液晶区,其中所述第一液晶及所述第二液晶具有相异的平均折射率和厚度的乘积;以及
    S50将所述晶体管基板及所述彩膜基板对组,以在所述晶体管基板及所述彩膜基板之间定义出液晶盒,得到显示器。
  10. 根据权利要求9所述的显示器的制造方法,其中在步骤S40中更包括:在所述第一液晶中添加手性剂。
  11. 根据权利要求9所述的显示器的制造方法,其中所述多个突起结构包括下列至少一者:至少一黑色矩阵、至少一感光间隙材、以及彩色滤光层,配置于所述彩膜基板下。
  12. 根据权利要求9所述的显示器的制造方法,其中所述第一液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为350nm至450nm。
  13. 根据权利要求9所述的显示器的制造方法,其中所述第二液晶的平均折射率和厚度的乘积为290nm至380nm。
