  • the nicotine retention properties of the aerosols generated from the liquid nicotine formulations according to the invention are at least 13.5 times greater than the liquid formulation not according to the invention that does not comprise either a water-immiscible solvent having a water solubility at 20°C of less than or equal to about 100 mg/ml or a water- soluble organic acid (Example G).
  • the nicotine retention properties of the aerosols generated from the liquid nicotine formulations according to the invention are at least about 1.5 times greater than the liquid formulation not according to the invention that does not comprise a water-immiscible solvent having a water solubility at 20°C of less than or equal to about 100 mg/ml (Example H).
  • Example 1 The nicotine retention properties of the aerosols generated from the liquid nicotine formulations according to the invention (Examples A-F), which comprise both a water-immiscible solvent having a water solubility at 20°C of less than or equal to about 100 mg/ml and a water- soluble organic acid, are similar to the nicotine retention properties of the smoke generated from the conventional cigarette (Example I).

Abstract

L'invention concerne une formulation de nicotine liquide destinée à être utilisée dans un système de génération d'aérosol, cette formulation de nicotine liquide comprenant un ou plusieurs solvants miscibles à l'eau, un ou plusieurs solvants non miscibles à l'eau ayant une solubilité dans l'eau à 20 °C inférieure ou égale à environ 100 mg/ml et un ou plusieurs acides organiques solubles dans l'eau, la teneur en solvants non miscibles à l'eau de la formulation de nicotine liquide étant supérieure ou égale à environ 2 pour cent en poids. L'invention concerne une formulation de nicotine liquide destinée à être utilisée dans un système de génération d'aérosol, cette formulation de nicotine liquide comprenant un ou plusieurs solvants miscibles à l'eau, un ou plusieurs solvants non miscibles à l'eau ayant un coefficient de partage (log P) à 20 °C supérieur ou égal à environ 0,05, et un ou plusieurs acides organiques solubles dans l'eau, la teneur en solvants non miscibles à l'eau de la formulation de nicotine liquide étant supérieure ou égale à environ 2 pour cent en poids. L'invention concerne également une cartouche destinée à être utilisée dans un système de génération d'aérosol, cette cartouche contenant ladite formulation liquide de nicotine. L'invention concerne par ailleurs un système de génération d'aérosol comprenant cette formulation de nicotine liquide et un atomiseur conçu pour générer un aérosol à partir de ladite formulation de nicotine liquide.
