Description

WRAP ASSEMBLY FOR MIMICKING MUSCULAR ACTION
TECHNICAL FIELD
[01] This document relates to the technical field of (and is not limited to) a wrap assembly for mimicking muscular action of a muscle of a person, and/or this document relates to the technical field of (and is not limited to) a wrap assembly for mimicking muscular action and contraction of the tibialis posterior muscle of a person, and/or this document relates to the technical field of (and is not limited to) a method for a wrap assembly for mimicking muscular action of a muscle of a person.
BACKGROUND
[02] A known wrap (medical wrap) may be applied to the skin of a person.
SUMMARY
[03] Known medical wraps are configured to be applied to the skin of a person. This is done in such a way that the medical wrap, in use, maintains a stable position of bones and muscles (of the person wearing the known medical wrap) during an activity (such as walking and/or an athletic activity, etc.). The known medical wrap, once applied, physically keeps (maintains) in place muscles and/or bones at a certain position and/or relationship (during the activity). This arrangement may reduce pain and aids physical recovery for the person. The known medical wrap helps a person recover from the overuse of, and/or other injuries to, a muscle, etc. The known medical wrap, in use, may restrict the motion of an injured joint, compress soft tissues to reduce swelling, support anatomical structures involved in the injury, serve as a splint or secure a splint, secure dressing or bandages, protect the injured joint from re-injury, and/or protect the injured limb (physical part of the person) while the injured part undergoes healing. Once the known medical wrap is removed, the person is no longer supported or assisted. The known medical wrap may include a piece of material that may be usable to support a medical device (such as a dressing or a splint), or provide support to or restrict the movement of a part of the body (of the person). The known medical wrap may be used to reduce swelling or provide support to a sprained ankle, etc. The known medical wrap may be tightly applied to slow blood flow to an extremity, such as when a leg or arm is bleeding heavily.
[04] It will be appreciated that there exists a need to mitigate (at least in part) at least one problem associated with existing (known) wrap assemblies (also called the existing technology). After much study of the known systems and methods with experimentation, an understanding (at least in part) of the problem and its solution has been identified (at least in part) and is articulated (at least in part) as follows: [05] To mitigate, at least in part, at least one problem associated with the existing technology, there is provided (in accordance with a major aspect) an apparatus. The apparatus includes and is not limited to (comprises) a wrap assembly for mimicking muscular action and contraction of a muscle of a person. The wrap assembly includes and is not limited to (comprises) a first wrap panel configured to be securely selectively wrapped (for secured selective placement) around a first portion of a limb of the person. The wrap assembly includes and is not limited to (comprises) a second wrap panel configured to be securely selectively wrapped (for secured selective placement) around a second portion of the limb of the person. The second wrap panel is also configured to be securely selectively wrapped (for secured selective placement) around a third portion of the limb of the person. The first wrap panel and the second wrap panel are selectively connectable (configured to be selectively connectable) with each other in such a way that the first wrap panel and the second wrap panel, in use, mimic muscular action and contraction of the muscle of the person once: (A) the first wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the first portion of the limb of the person, and (B) the second wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the second portion of the limb of the person, and also securely selectively wrapped around the third portion of the limb of the person, and (C) the person moves the limb. A technical effect of the apparatus is that the wrap assembly, once applied or installed, physically keeps (maintains) the joint (such as the knee joint of the wearer or the user) in a stable condition while muscles, which are attached to the joint, function (that is, the wrap assembly prevents the functioning muscle from pulling the joint from a stable condition).
[06] To mitigate, at least in part, at least one problem associated with the existing technology, there is provided (in accordance with a major aspect) a method. The method is for utilizing a wrap assembly for mimicking muscular action and contraction of a muscle of a person. The method includes and is not limited to (comprises) securely selectively wrapping a first wrap panel around a first portion of a limb of the person. The method also includes and is not limited to (comprises) securely selectively wrapping a second wrap panel around a second portion of the limb of the person. The method also includes and is not limited to (comprises) securely selectively wrapping the second wrap panel around a third portion of the limb of the person. The method also includes and is not limited to (comprises) selectively connecting the first wrap panel and the second wrap panel with each other in such a way that the first wrap panel and the second wrap panel, in use, mimic muscular action and contraction of the muscle of the person once: (A) the first wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the first portion of the limb of the person, and (B) the second wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the second portion of the limb of the person, and also securely selectively wrapped around the third portion of the limb of the person, and (C) the person moves the limb.
[07] To mitigate, at least in part, at least one problem associated with the existing technology, there is provided (in accordance with a major aspect) an apparatus. The apparatus includes and is not limited to (comprises) a wrap assembly for mimicking muscular action and contraction of the tibialis posterior muscle of a person. The wrap assembly incudes a calf- wrap panel configured to be securely selectively wrapped (for secured selective placement) around an upper calf portion of a calf of a person (in which the upper calf portion is located proximate to a knee of the person). The wrap assembly also includes and is not limited to (comprises) an ankle-and-foot wrap panel configured to be securely selectively wrapped (for secured selective placement) around an ankle-portion of an ankle of the person. The ankle-and-foot wrap panel is also configured to be securely selectively wrapped (for secured selective placement) around a foot-portion of a foot of the person. The calf-wrap panel and the ankle-and-foot wrap panel are selectively connectable (configured to be selectively connectable) with each other in such a way that the calf-wrap panel and the ankle-and-foot wrap panel, in use, mimic muscular action and contraction of the tibialis posterior muscle of the person once: (A) the calf-wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the upper calf portion of the calf of the person; and (B) the ankle-and-foot wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the ankle- portion of the ankle of the person, and is also securely selectively wrapped around the foot- portion of the foot of the person; and (C) the person walks.
[08] To mitigate, at least in part, at least one problem associated with the existing technology, there is provided (in accordance with a major aspect) a method. The method is for utilizing a wrap assembly for mimicking muscular action and contraction of the tibialis posterior muscle of a person. The method includes and is not limited to (comprises) securely selectively wrapping a calf-wrap panel around an upper calf portion of a calf of a person (in which the upper calf portion is located proximate to a knee of the person). The method also includes and is not limited to (comprises) securely selectively wrapping an ankle-and-foot wrap panel around an ankle-portion of an ankle of the person. The method also includes and is not limited to (comprises) securely selectively wrapping the ankle-and-foot wrap panel around a foot-portion of a foot of the person. The method also includes and is not limited to (comprises) selectively connecting the calf-wrap panel and the ankle-and-foot wrap panel with each other in such a way that the calf-wrap panel and the ankle-and-foot wrap panel, in use, mimic muscular action and contraction of the tibialis posterior muscle of the person once: (A) the calf-wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the upper calf portion of the calf of the person; and (B) the ankle-and-foot wrap panel, in use, is securely selectively wrapped around the ankle-portion of the ankle of the person, and is also securely selectively wrapped around the foot-portion of the foot of the person; and (C) the person walks.
