Abstract

The invention relates to a side panel (1, 1') for a drawer, comprising a support profile (4, 4'), on which a base (2) of the drawer can be fixed. Description

Side frame for a drawer

The present invention relates to a side frame for a drawer, with a carrier profile on which a bottom of the drawer can be fixed, the carrier profile extending essentially over the entire length of the bottom and having a vertical web projecting upwards above the bottom , and a strip-shaped decorative element that extends essentially over the entire length of the carrier profile or between caps arranged in the end regions on the carrier profile and has an upper horizontal web and a first downwardly projecting vertical web.

EP 1 614 369 discloses a drawer frame in which two wall parts can be locked together via a mechanical locking connection. The wall parts are usually provided with a surface coating, and this coating can easily be damaged during assembly. In addition, the shape of the side frame is difficult to vary due to the wall parts.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a side frame for a drawer which is easy to assemble and which prevents damage to an outer surface.

This object is achieved with a side frame for a drawer with the features of claim 1.

According to the invention, the side frame comprises a support profile which extends essentially over the entire length of a bottom of a drawer and a decorative element which extends essentially over the entire length of the support profile or between caps arranged in the end regions on the support profile, wherein the decorative element has an upper horizontal web, from which a first and a second vertical web extend downward, and the horizontal web is supported directly or indirectly on the upper end of a vertical web of the support profile, and the decorative element has the support profile on opposite sides Pages at least partially covered laterally. As a result, in the side frame, the support profile, which can be made of a dimensionally stable material, such as a metal sheet, is covered by the decorative element, the decorative element being formed in one piece and having an inverted "U" contour in the upper region. The decorative element can preferably be clamped to the support profile. Additionally or alternatively, the decorative element can be fixed to the carrier profile by means of latching means, so that the decorative element is mechanically fixed to the carrier profile, which makes the use of adhesives or other mechanical fastening means unnecessary.

In a preferred embodiment, the decorative element has a lower second horizontal web, which can be clamped or latched to a lower horizontal web of the carrier profile. This enables a particularly simple assembly by swiveling the support profile open by first fixing the upper section of the decorative element to the support profile and then fixing the lower horizontal web to the support profile in a clamping or latching manner.

In order to be able to fix the decorative element better on the carrier profile, at least one filler element can be provided on the vertical web of the carrier profile, the decorative element with an upper horizontal web resting at least partially on the filler element. One or more filling elements can be provided over the length of the carrier profile, which support the horizontal web of the decorative element.

In a variant of the side frame, a wall element is supported on an upper side of the decorative element, for example a plate-shaped wall element made of glass or wood. The wall element can be held on the decorative element by a front cap and a rear cap, the caps each encompassing or covering an end face of the wall element. As a result, the weight forces are transferred to the decorative element and the carrier profile, while the caps ensure lateral stability.

In a further embodiment, an adhesive is provided for fixing the decorative element to the carrier profile, for example a magnet or a Velcro fastener. Improved fixation can be achieved by the additional adhesive and rattling noises can also be avoided. The decorative element preferably comprises a plurality of angularly arranged webs which form a closed hollow chamber in the assembled position, optionally also together with a web of the carrier profile. As a result, an area of the decorative element can be made more stable since the webs support one another and thus have a higher rigidity. The hollow chamber is preferably formed at an upper end of the decorative element.

In a further embodiment, the decorative element comprises bent tabs which engage in a cutout on the carrier profile. One or more tabs can engage in a single recess. If the tabs are bent around bending edges that are oriented at an angle to one another, preferably at right angles, the decorative element can be secured in various directions against displacement relative to the carrier profile.

The tabs can be distributed over the length of the support profile.

The side frame is preferably mounted on a drawer, especially for furniture. The drawer can have two identical decorative elements that are mounted on opposite sides as a mirror image.

A side frame 1 of a drawer is mounted on a plate-shaped base 2, the side frame 1 and the base 2 having essentially the same length. A rear wall 3 is mounted on the base 2, while on the opposite side a front panel (not shown) is fixed to fastening means which are arranged in the side frame 1. In addition, a further side frame 1 can be provided on the drawer as a mirror image on the opposite side of the base 2.

In Figure 2, the side frame 1 is shown in an exploded view. The side frame 1 comprises a support profile 4, for example made of a bent sheet metal, which has a web 40 which is horizontal in the installed position of the drawer and on which the base 2 can be placed. Furthermore, the carrier profile comprises a vertical web 41 which, at least in regions, comprises a bent upper horizontal web 42. A groove-shaped receiving channel 43 can be formed between the vertical web 41 and the horizontal web 40, which is optionally also only in a front and rear section of the carrier profile 4. A front holder 44 and a rear holder 45 are provided on the groove-shaped receiving channel 43, on which, for example, fastening means for the front panel and the rear wall 3 are arranged.

So that the side frame 1 has an attractive visual appearance, the carrier profile 4 is covered with a strip-shaped decorative element 5, which can be made, for example, of a thin metal sheet or plastic. The decorative element 5 comprises a first vertical web 50 which is provided on the outside of the carrier profile 4, an upper horizontal web 51 and a second vertical web 52 which is arranged on the inside of the vertical web 41 of the carrier profile. The vertical web 52 of the decorative element 5 can rest on the bottom 2 of the drawer.

To fix the decorative element 5, a lower horizontal web 53 is integrally formed on the vertical web 50, which at least partially engages under the carrier profile 4. As a result, by pivoting the decorative element 5, it can be fixed on the carrier profile 4 in a clamping or latching manner. Optionally, an adhesive 46 can also be provided, for example a magnet or a Velcro fastener or a double-sided adhesive tape. Such additional adhesives 46 can also be used for sound insulation.

In the embodiment of FIG. 2, a plate-shaped wall element 6 is supported on the decorative element 5 on the horizontal web 51, which can be designed as a glass pane, for example. In order to fix the glass pane between the two holders 44 and 45, a front cap 7 is provided, which has two vertical legs 70 and 71 and engages around an end face of the wall element 6. The cap 7 also has a lower horizontal web 72 which engages under the receiving channel 43 and can be fixed there by clamping or latching. In a similar manner, the wall element 6 is laterally supported in the rear region by the cap 8, which has two vertical legs 80 and 81, which encompass an end face of the wall element 6 and are fixed to the holder 45. A lower horizontal web 82 can also be fixed to the receiving channel 43 in a clamping or latching manner. The caps 7 and 8 are also aligned in the fixed position on the receiving channel 43 with their vertical legs 70 and 80 approximately flush with the vertical web 50 of the fixed decorative element 5. Spacers 10 can optionally also be provided on the holders 44 and 45 in order to align the wall element 6. In the assembled position shown in FIG. 1, a label 9 or a logo carrier attached in a clamped manner is additionally provided on the cap 7 for identification.

In Figure 1, the side frame 1 comprises a wall element 6, which is arranged on the unit consisting of the carrier profile 4 and the decorative element 5. FIG. 3 shows a modified side frame T, in which no wall element 6 is provided, but rather a decorative element 5 'which is higher than the previously described decorative element 5. The side frame 1 'is shown in FIG. 4 in a section. The side frame 1 'comprises a carrier profile 4', which has a vertical web 41 ', to which a U-shaped channel 43 connects and on which a horizontal web 40 can be formed to support the base 2. A filler element or spacer can optionally be provided on the holder 6 'in order to prevent the decorative element 5' from moving.

5A and 5B show an exemplary embodiment of a side frame similar to FIG. 4, only the decorative element 5 being fixed directly to the carrier profile 4 'and not via an additional holder 6'. The decorative element 5 comprises two vertical webs 50 and 52 of different lengths, which are connected to one another via an upper horizontal web. The vertical web 50 can optionally be connected to the vertical web 41 'of the carrier profile 4' via adhesive 46.

A modified side frame is shown in FIG. 6, in which the support profile 4 is shown with an assembled base 2 which rests on the horizontal web 40. A stepped end section 48 is formed on the vertical web 41 and is offset inwards relative to the vertical web 41. A filling element 30 is placed on the stepped end section 48, for example a plastic element, which can be formed over the length of the carrier profile 4 or is formed from several individual elements which are distributed over the length of the carrier profile 4. The filling element 30 comprises a flat upper side on which the horizontal web 51 of the decorative element 5 rests. In addition, the two vertical webs 50 and 52 encompass the filling element 30, the vertical web 52 having a bent end section 54, which is bent, for example, by 180 °, the bend resting on the top of the bottom 2.

To fix the decorative element 5, the upper section is first folded around the filler element (s) 30, in order then to pivot and swivel a lower horizontal web 53 of the decorative element 5 under a horizontal web on the groove-shaped receiving channel 43 and there for example, to fix it. The decorative element 5 is secured in the lateral direction by the filling element 30.

FIG. 7 shows a modified exemplary embodiment of a side frame, in which no filling element 30 is provided as in FIG. 6 and the vertical web 41 extends vertically upwards. In order to fix the decorative element 5 in the upper area on the carrier profile 4, the horizontal web 51 lies on one end face of the vertical web 41 of the carrier profile and is double-walled on the second vertical web 52, an inner vertical web 54 abuts the outer vertical web 52. The inner vertical web 54 is formed integrally with an upper horizontal web 55 which abuts the underside of the horizontal web 51 and ends at an angled end section 56 which is arranged at a distance from the vertical web 50, so that a U-shaped one Recording is formed between the two vertical webs 50 and 56, in which an upper end of the vertical web 41 of the support profile 4 engages. FIG. 8 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a side frame, in which a modified filling element 32 is provided, which is inserted into a U-shaped section of the decorative element 5. The filling element 32 has a receptacle for an upper end section 49 of the vertical web 41 of the carrier profile 4 and forms an upper contact surface for the horizontal web 51 of the decorative element 50. The decorative element encompasses the filling element 32 with the inner second vertical web 52, which is bent around 90 ° at an angled end section 54 ′ and rests on an upper side of the floor 2. For assembly, the decorative element 5 is first mounted on the filling element 32 and the carrier profile 4, at the end of which pivoting takes place in order to pivot a lower horizontal web 53 of the decorative element 5 below a horizontal web and the groove-shaped receiving channel 43 and to fix the decorative element 5 in a clamping or latching manner.

FIG. 9 shows a modified exemplary embodiment of a side frame, in which the vertical web 41 of the carrier profile comprises an inwardly angled end section 42, which is inserted into a groove-shaped receptacle of a modified filler element 31. Furthermore, the filling element 31 is framed in a U-shape by the vertical webs 50 and 52, and the decorative element 5 is again fixed via the lower horizontal web 53, as was explained above.

FIG. 10 shows the lower region of the carrier profile and a decorative element 5, in which a locking web 59 is additionally formed on the horizontal web 53. The latching web 59 comprises an upwardly projecting projection which engages in a latching receptacle which is formed on the underside of the groove-shaped receiving channel 43 'of the carrier profile 4. As a result, the decorative element 5 can be fixed not only in a clamping manner but also in a latching manner on the carrier profile 4. The bottom 2 lies on a bent horizontal leg 40 'of the carrier profile 4.

FIG. 11 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a side frame with a carrier profile 4 with a groove-shaped receiving channel 43 and a vertical web 41. A decorative element 5 is mounted on the vertical web 41, which has a vertical web 50 which covers the vertical web 41. Similar to FIG. 7, a lower, horizontal web 53 is formed on the vertical web 50, which at least partially covers a bottom of the groove-shaped receiving channel 43. In the upper area, the decorative element 5 comprises a horizontal web 51, which is bent downward at the end and is connected to a vertical web 52. The vertical web 52 is connected in the lower region to a connecting web 57 which connects the vertical web 52 to the vertical web 41 of the carrier profile 4. The decorative element 5 has an end section 58 which bears against the vertical web 41, so that the decorative element 5 forms a closed flute chamber in the mounted position, in which the individual webs support one another.

An embossment 39 is formed on the carrier profile 4 on the vertical web 41, which protrudes slightly outwards, so that the decorative element 5 bears against the embossment 39 in the region of the vertical web 50 and in the other region from the vertical web 41 is spaced. In the area thus created between the decorative element 5 and the carrier profile 4, it is therefore possible to introduce a sealing or insulating material such as adhesive, foam or an adhesive tape.

FIG. 12 shows a carrier profile and a decorative element 5 before assembly. The carrier profile 4 comprises the horizontal web 40 and the vertical Web 41, between which the groove-shaped receiving channel 43 is formed. A bottom 38 of the groove-shaped receiving channel 43 has a plurality of openings 37 which are distributed over the length of the carrier profile 4 and serve to fix the decorative element 5. The decorative element 5 comprises a closed vertical web 50 and can be designed in the upper area according to one of the exemplary embodiments in FIGS. 7-11. The lower horizontal web 53 is used to fasten the decorative element 5 to the carrier profile 4. For this purpose, a plurality of bent tabs 60 and 61 are provided on the decorative element 5 and can be inserted into the openings 37.

FIG. 13 shows the decorative element 5 in an assembled position on the carrier profile 4. It can be seen that the tabs 60 engage in the openings 37, the tabs 16 having a bending edge which is aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the decorative element 5 and the tabs 61 having a bending edge which are aligned parallel to the longitudinal direction of the decorative element 5. As a result, the decorative element 5 can be secured in different directions against displacement relative to the carrier profile 4.
