본 발명은 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치에 관한 것으로, 반응기를 둘러싸고 있으며 노심용융물 가둠실, 상기 노심용융물 가둠실은 측벽과 낙하하는 노심용융물과 직접 접촉하는 하부벽을 포함함; 상기 노심용융물 가둠실 외부에 위치하며 냉각수를 수용하는 중간탱크를 포함하며, 상기 측벽에는 상기 중간탱크와 연결되어 상기 중간탱크의 냉각수를 상기 노심용융물 상에 가하는 냉각수유로가 형성되어 있다.
Description
본 발명은 노외에서의 노심용융물 냉각성능이 향상된 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치에 관한 것이다.
원자력 발전소에서 중대사고 발생 시 노심용융물이 원자로 압력용기의 파손부를 통해 원자로 하부공동으로 방출될 가능성이 있다. 여기서 노심용융물이란 원자로 압력용기 내부에 설치되는 원자로 노심의 핵연료인 농축우라늄과, 피복재로 사용되는 지르코늄 및 원자로 압력용기 내부 다수의 물질들이 혼합된 고온의 용융물질을 말한다.
노심용융물은 그 내부의 핵분열 생성물의 붕괴로 열을 발생시킨다. 붕괴열의 수준은 원자로 정지 후 경과 시간에 따라 점차 감소되며, 원자로 정지 1시간 후의 붕괴열은 원자로 정격 열출력의 약 1%수준이다.
따라서 원자력발전소의 중대사고 발생 시 배출된 노심용융물이 적절히 냉각되지 않으면 결국 고온의 노심용융물은 원자로 건물 하부공동 바닥 콘크리트와 반응하여 다량이 비응축성 가스를 발생시키면서 바닥을 용융 침식시키게 되며, 최종적으로 원자로건물 압력 유지 구조물의 파손을 야기시켜 방사능 물질이 외부로 누출됨으로써 환경을 심각하게 오염시킬 위험이 있다.
이상과 같은 원자력발전소의 중대사고시 원자로 건물 건전성 상실에 대처하기 위해 노심용융물과 원자로건물 하부공동 바닥 콘크리트가 직접 반응하지 않도록 노심용융물을 보유 및 냉각하는 여러 가지 대응책이 연구되고 있다. 그 대표적인 설비로서 원자로건물 하부공동에서 노심용융물을 수집, 보유 및 냉각수 공급을 통해 냉각하는 코어캐쳐가 있다.
그러나 종래 코어캐쳐는 노심용융물 확산 및 냉각이 충분하지 않아 노심용융물을 안전하게 냉각시키는데 한계가 있었다.
따라서 본 발명의 목적은 노외에서의 노심용융물 냉각성능이 향상된 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치를 제공하는 것이다.
상기 본 발명의 목적은 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치에 있어서, 반응기를 둘러싸고 있으며 노심용융물 가둠실, 상기 노심용융물 가둠실은 측벽과 낙하하는 노심용융물과 직접 접촉하는 하부벽을 포함함; 상기 노심용융물 가둠실 외부에 위치하며 냉각수를 수용하는 중간탱크를 포함하며, 상기 측벽에는 상기 중간탱크와 연결되어 상기 중간탱크의 냉각수를 상기 노심용융물 상에 가하는 냉각수유로가 형성되어 있는 것으로 달성된다.
상기 냉각수유로의 냉각수 공급위치는 상기 하부벽의 상면보다 50cm 내지 200cm 높을 수 있다.
상기 중간탱크는 사고발생시 배관 파단 및 살수에 의해 발생한 냉각수를 수용하며, 상기 중간탱크는 건물내재장전수 탱크와 연통되어 있을 수 있다.
상기 하부벽은 길게 연장되어 있으며, 상기 반응기 하부에 위치하는 제1부분과; 상기 제1부분에서 연장되어 있는 제2부분을 포함하며, 상기 제2부분은 직사각형 형태일 수 있다.
상기 제1부분은 길게 연장된 다각형 형상이며, 상기 제2부분은 길이보다 높이가 길며, 상기 제1부분과 상기 제2부분은 비대칭적으로 연결되어 있으며, 상기 제1부분의 연장방향은 상기 제2부분의 길이방향과 평행하지 않을 수 있다.
상기 제1부분은 원 형태이며, 상기 제2부분은 직사각형 형태로 길게 연장되어 있을 수 있다.
상기 하부벽은 상기 제1부분과 상기 제2부분의 연결위치에 존재하여 주변보다 폭이 축소된 축소부분을 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 제2부분의 폭은 상기 제1부분의 직경의 1.0 내지 1.5배일 수 있다.
상기 제2부분의 길이는 상기 제1부분의 직경의 1.8 내지 3배일 수 있다.
상기 제2부분은, 상기 제1부분에 가까이 위치하는 제1서브부분과; 상기 제1서브부분과 연결되어 있으며 상기 제1부분에서 먼 제2서브부분을 포함하며, 상기 제2서브부분은 상부에 위치하는 상기 노심용융물 가둠실과의 간격이 상기 제1서브부분보다 작을 수 있다.
상기 제2서브부분의 길이는 상기 제2부분의 길이의 0.2 내지 0.5배일 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면 노외에서의 노심용융물 냉각성능이 향상된 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치가 제공된다. 이에 의해 노심용융물이 원자로용기 밖으로 한꺼번에 분출되는 중대사고에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있으며 이에 따른 경제적 효과도 상당하다.

이하 도면을 참조하여 본 발명을 더욱 상세히 설명한다.
첨부된 도면은 본 발명의 기술적 사상을 더욱 구체적으로 설명하기 위하여 도시한 일 예에 불과하므로 본 발명의 사상이 첨부된 도면에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 또한, 첨부된 도면은 각 구성요소 간의 관계를 설명하기 위해 크기와 간격 등이 실제와 달리 과장되어 있을 수 있다.
도 1 및 도 2를 참조하여 본 발명의 제1실시예에 따른 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치를 설명한다.
본 발명의 제1실시예에 따른 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치(1)는 반응기(10), 노외용융물 가둠실(20), 중간탱크(30), 건물내재장전수 탱크(40), 밸브(50) 및 배관(61, 62)을 포함한다.
노심용융물 가둠실(20)은 노심용융물에 의한 침식 및 고온용융방출 혹은 증기방출하중에 충분히 견디도록 콘크리트, 철근 및 철판 등으로 이루어질 수 있으며, 반응기(10)를 둘러싸고 있는 제1차폐벽(21, 측벽), 제1차폐벽과 연결되어 있으며 하부에 위치하는 제2차폐벽(22, 하부벽, 하부바닥), 제1차폐벽(21)의 외부에 위치하는 제3차폐벽(23) 및 제2차폐벽(22)과 제3차폐벽(23)을 연결하는 제4차폐벽(24)을 포함한다. 제1차폐벽(21)에는 냉각수유로(211)가 형성되어 있으며, 자세한 설명은 후술한다.
제1차폐벽(21)은 반응기(10)를 수용하여 원자로건물 내부 비산물로부터 원자로용기를 보호하며, 방사선 차폐기능을 수행한다.
제2차폐벽(22)은 제1부분(221)과 제2부분(222)으로 이루어져 있으며 관성력이 큰 노심용융물이 골고루 퍼지도록 전체적으로 길게 연장되어 있는 형태이다. 제1부분(221)은 원형이며 원자로(10)에 대응하여 원자로(10) 하부에 위치하고 있다. 제2부분(222)은 전체적으로는 직사각형 형태이지만, 양 단은 곡선 형태를 가지고 있다. 제1부분(221)과 제2부분(222)을 연결하는 축소부분(223)은 주변에 비해 폭이 감소되어 있다.
제2부분(222)의 길이(b)는 제1부분(221)의 직경(a)의 1.8 내지 3배이고, 제2부분(222)의 폭(c)은 제1부분(221)의 직경(a)의 1.0 내지 1.5배이다.
제2부분(222)은 제3차폐벽(23)의 단부위치(B)를 경계로 제1부분(221)과 연결되어 있는 제1서브부분(222a)과 제1부분(221)에서 이격되어 있는 제2서브부분(222b)으로 이루어져 있다. 제2서브부분(222b)은 제2서브부분(222a)에 비해 상부방향으로 볼 때 노심용융물 가둠실(20)과 평행한 제4차폐벽(24)과의 거리가 가깝다. 제2서브부분(222b)의 길이(d)는 제2부분(222)의 길이(b)의 0.2 내지 0.5배이다.
중간탱크(30)와 건물내재장전수탱크(40)는 노심용융물 가둠실(20) 외부에 위치하고 있다. 중간탱크(30)는 사고발생시 배관 파단 및 살수에 의해 발생된 냉각수를 수용하는 직각형 구조용 탱크이다. 중간저장탱크 상부에는 이물질이 탱크로 유입되는 것을 방지하기 위한 스크린이 설치되어 있다. 중간탱크(30)는 건물내재장전수탱크(40)와 연통된다.
건물내재장전수탱크(40)는 재장전수를 저장하고 안전주입펌프 및 원자로건물 살수펌프에 물을 공급하며, 안전감압계통에 대한 열제거원 역할을 한다. 건물내재장전수탱크(40)는 환형이며, 내부구조물의 외부 경계로서 내부구조물의 하부에 위치한다. 건물내재장전수탱크(40) 내부에는 누설을 방지하기 위해 스테인리스 강판 라이너가 설치되며, 상부 및 하부 슬래브와 외벽으로 구성된다. 건물내재장전수탱크(40) 하부 슬래브는 원자로건물 기초매트 위에 놓이며, 상부 및 하부 슬래브는 노심용융물 가둠실(20)에 강결로 연결된다. 건물내재장전수탱크(40) 설계 시에는 원자로건물 계통 설계기준 사고시 발생하는 압력이 고려된다.
중간탱크(30)의 냉각수는 밸브(50)의 개방에 의해 냉각수유로(211)를 거쳐 제2차폐벽(22) 상으로 공급된다. 제2차폐벽(22) 상부면으로부터의 냉각수유로(211)의 출구까지의 높이(d1)는 50cm 내지 200cm일 수 있다. 밸브(50)의 개방 및 폐쇄는 피동적으로 이루어지거나 운전원의 조작에 의해 이루어질 수 있다. 밸브(50)는 DC전원 구동밸브일 수 있다.
이하, 도 3을 참조하여 본 발명의 일시예에 따른 노심용융물의 냉각시스템의 작동을 설명한다.
사고가 발생하여 반응기(10)가 용융되어 노심용융물이 생성되면, 노심용융물은 하부공간(도 1의 A부분)을 통해 낙하하여 제2차폐벽(22)의 제1부분(221) 상에 위치하게 된다. 낙하한 노심용융물은 제2부분(222) 상으로 확산되면서 냉각된다. 이 때 제2부분(222)의 폭은 제1부분(221)의 직경과 같거나 더 크기 때문에 노심용융물의 낙하저항성이 낮아 노심용융물이 용이하게 확산된다. 노심용융물의 용이한 확산에 의해 노심용융물의 냉각도 비교적 신속하게 이루어진다.
이와 함께 노심용융물의 상부에서 중간탱크(30)의 냉각수가 냉각수유로(211)의 냉각수가 공급된다. 냉각수는 노심용융물의 상부에 직접 접촉하여 노심용융물을 효과적으로 냉각하게 된다. 냉각수유로(211)의 출구높이(d1)는 노심용융물이 확산될 경우 노심용융물보다 높게 위치하도록 마련되어 있다.
노심용융물 직접냉각 메카니즘은 노심용융물이 바닥에 골고루 퍼진 후 냉각수를 노심용융물 상으로 공급되면, 냉각재기화로 인한 급격한 압력 상승으로 노심용융물 내에 다공도(porosity)가 증가하게 된다. 이러한 노심용융물 내 다공도 증가로 냉각수 공급량과 노심용융물-냉각수 간 접촉 면적이 더욱 커지고, 따라서 용융물의 냉각은 더욱 촉진된다. 이러한 다공도의 증가는 노심용융물의 고화 시까지 지속되며, 노심용융물 내 다공도는 노심용융물 냉각율에 크게 영향을 미친다. 초기 노심용융물의 냉각은 공급된 냉각수의 상변화에 의해 주로 이루어지며, 공급된 대부분의 냉각수가 기화한다.
본 발명에 의해 원자로 건물 건전성을 확보하여 원자로 밖으로 배출되는 방사선량을 최소화할 수 있다. 또한, 중대사고가 발생하여도 원자로 내부구조물 내에서 고압용융방출 및 격납건물직접가열, 노외 증기폭발, 그리고 노심용융물과 콘크리트 반응과 같은 사고에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있다.
도 4는 본 발명의 제2실시예에 따른 노심용융물 노외냉각장치에서의 하부바닥을 나타낸 것이다.
제2차폐벽(22, 하부면, 하부바닥)은 제1부분(221)과 제2부분(222)으로 이루어져 있으며 관성력이 큰 노심용융물이 골고루 퍼지도록 전체적으로 길게 연장되어 있는 형태이다. 제1부분(221)은 길게 연장된 다각형 형상이며, 제2부분(222)은 직사각형 형상이다. 제2부분(222)은 높이(f)가 길이(e)보다 긴 형태이다. 제1부분(221)과 제2부분(222)은 비대칭적으로 연결되어 있으며, 제1부분(221)은 연장방향은 제2부분(222)의 길이방향과 평행하지 않고 비스듬하게 일정한 각도를 이루고 있다.
전술한 실시예는 본 발명을 설명하기 위한 예시로서, 본 발명이 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 이로부터 다양하게 변형하여 본 발명을 실시하는 것이 가능할 것이므로, 본 발명의 기술적 보호범위는 첨부된 특허청구범위에 의해 정해져야 할 것이다.
Claims (11)
- 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치에 있어서,반응기를 둘러싸고 있으며 노심용융물 가둠실, 상기 노심용융물 가둠실은 측벽과 낙하하는 노심용융물과 직접 접촉하는 하부벽을 포함함;상기 노심용융물 가둠실 외부에 위치하며 냉각수를 수용하는 중간탱크를 포함하며,상기 측벽에는 상기 중간탱크와 연결되어 상기 중간탱크의 냉각수를 상기 노심용융물 상에 가하는 냉각수유로가 형성되어 있는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제1항에서,상기 냉각수유로의 냉각수 공급위치는 상기 하부벽의 상면보다 50cm 내지 200cm 높은 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제1항에서,상기 중간탱크는 사고발생시 배관 파단 및 살수에 의해 발생한 냉각수를 수용하며,상기 중간탱크는 건물내재장전수 탱크와 연통되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제1항에서,상기 하부벽은 길게 연장되어 있으며,상기 반응기 하부에 위치하는 제1부분과;상기 제1부분에서 연장되어 있는 제2부분을 포함하며,상기 제2부분은 직사각형 형태인 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제4항에서,상기 제1부분은 길게 연장된 다각형 형상이며,상기 제2부분은 길이보다 높이가 길며,상기 제1부분과 상기 제2부분은 비대칭적으로 연결되어 있으며,상기 제1부분의 연장방향은 상기 제2부분의 길이방향과 평행하지 않은 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제4항에서,상기 제1부분은 원 형태이며,상기 제2부분은 직사각형 형태로 길게 연장되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제6항에서,상기 하부벽은 상기 제1부분과 상기 제2부분의 연결위치에 존재하여 주변보다 폭이 축소된 축소부분을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제7항에서,상기 제2부분의 폭은 상기 제1부분의 직경의 1.0 내지 1.5배 인 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제8항에서,상기 제2부분의 길이는 상기 제1부분의 직경의 1.8 내지 3배 인 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제9항에서,상기 제2부분은,상기 제1부분에 가까이 위치하는 제1서브부분과;상기 제1서브부분과 연결되어 있으며 상기 제1부분에서 먼 제2서브부분을 포함하며,상기 제2서브부분은 상부에 위치하는 상기 노심용융물 가둠실과의 간격이 상기 제1서브부분보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
- 제10항에서,상기 제2서브부분의 길이는 상기 제2부분의 길이의 0.2 내지 0.5배인 것을 특징으로 하는 노심용융물의 노외냉각장치.
