Custom in vitro flow loops may be created based on 3D printed structures and cadaver tissue, specifically for the development of cardiac devices, thus supporting their suitability to develop the tools suited to this challenge.

  • the non-magnetic positioning system may be able to translate the transducer along arbitrary 3D paths during imaging.
  • the delivery of ultrasound exposures may be achieved using images acquired with MRI or CT, depending on the configuration of the system.

Abstract

Des ultrasons focalisés de haute intensité peuvent être utilisés pour le traitement non invasif d'une région d'intérêt qui est localisée par résonance magnétique ou par d'autres techniques d'imagerie. On peut procéder à l'ablation du tissu myocardique contractile tout en surveillant simultanément les changements de température dans le tissu et le sang environnant. Un gilet d'électrocardiographie externe peut être utilisé pour évaluer de manière non invasive l'emplacement d'une arythmie. La synchronisation cardiaque peut être utilisée pour tenir compte de la contractilité du myocarde tout en ciblant précisément la région d'intérêt, afin de synchroniser les ultrasons focalisés de haute intensité (HIFU) avec les intervalles du cycle cardiaque. La synchronisation respiratoire peut être utilisée pour tenir compte des mouvements de la paroi thoracique et du diaphragme par rapport au cœur, de façon à synchroniser la position de la région d'intérêt par rapport au cycle respiratoire par IRM. Un système de refroidissement sternal peut être utilisé pour limiter les lésions thermiques dues à l'absorption des HIFU par le sternum. L'administration locale au niveau des tissus peut être basée sur des modèles pour compenser la profondeur du tissu et le refroidissement associé au flux sanguin local afin d'obtenir une dose efficace uniforme.
