FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a system for packaging a set of cigarettes in a packaging
configuration in a prefabricated box type package.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The invention is based insight that for these type of systems, it is a challenge to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in the prefabricated box type package.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention has the objective to provide an improved or alternative system for packaging a set of cigarettes in a packaging configuration in a prefabricated box type package. This objective is achieved by a system for packaging a set of cigarettes in a packaging configuration in a prefabricated box type package, which system comprises;
- a supplying device for supplying cigarettes in horizontal rows of a predetermined number of cigarettes located side by side in a horizontal position,
- an isolating device for isolating the set of cigarettes from the supplied rows of cigarettes,
- a packaging device for placing the set of cigarettes in the box type package, wherein;
-- the isolating device comprises a receiving chamber configured to receive the set of cigarettes formed by multiple rows of cigarettes placed on top of each other,

In an embodiment of the system, the first and second pushing units are configured to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in which the longitudinal axes of the cigarettes of the most upper row of the set of cigarettes, the most lower row of the set of cigarettes, and the first and second outer cigarettes forms a rectangle when seen in a view in cross section perpendicular to said longitudinal axes.
In an embodiment of the system, the receiving chamber comprises a plate like static member which extends upwardly, such as vertically, and in a plate direction parallel to the longitudinal axes of the cigarettes.
In an embodiment of the system, the plate like static member extends in the middle between the first and second side surfaces.
In an embodiment of the system, the receiving chamber comprises an inlet opening to receive the supplied rows of cigarettes, and the plate like static member extends from the bottom surface towards the inlet opening.
In an embodiment of the system, the first pushing unit comprises a first pushing member having a first pushing surface extending upwardly from the bottom surface, the second pushing unit comprises a second pushing member having a second pushing surface extending upwardly from the bottom surface, and the first and second pushing units are configured to move the first and second pushing members towards each other to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an embodiment of the system, the first and second pushing units are configured to move the first and second pushing members along the bottom surface.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into a transport chamber of a transport unit while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a further transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the transport chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an embodiment of the system, the receiving chamber comprises an outlet opening located at a first end of the set of cigarettes and the transfer unit is configured to push at an opposition second end of the set of cigarettes to move the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber via the outlet opening.
In an embodiment of the system, the isolating device comprises a first support unit having a first support member which is movable from the inlet opening to the bottom surface in order to guide supplied rows of cigarettes in the receiving chamber and which is movable back from the bottom surface to the inlet opening.
In an embodiment of the system, the isolating device comprises a second support unit having a second support member which is movable from the inlet opening to the bottom surface in order to guide supplied rows of cigarettes in the receiving chamber and which is movable back from the bottom surface to the inlet opening, and wherein the first support unit is configured to support the rows of cigarettes near or at the first ends of the cigarettes, and the second support unit is configured to support the row of cigarettes between the first ends and the second ends of the cigarettes.
In an embodiment of the system, the transfer unit comprises a transfer member which is movable from a starting position at the second ends of the set of cigarettes in the receiving chamber into an end position at the outlet opening, and vice versa, the first support unit is configured to move the first support member from the bottom surface to the inlet opening when the transfer member is moving back from the end position to the starting position and beyond the first ends of the cigarettes of the row of cigarettes of the supplying device located at the inlet opening, and the second support unit is configured to move the second support member from the bottom surface to the inlet opening when the transfer member is moving back to the starting position and beyond the middle between the first ends and the second ends of the cigarettes of the row of cigarettes of the supplying device located at the inlet opening.
In an embodiment of the system, the receiving chamber is configured to receive the set of cigarettes having two rows of ten cigarettes. In an embodiment of the system, the system comprises a liner device configured to wrap a liner around the set of cigarettes during the transfer of the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration from the receiving chamber into the box type package.
In an embodiment of the system, the liner device comprises a liner gate, the packaging device is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration, and the liner device comprises a positioning unit to position the liner in an operational position in front of the liner gate.
In an embodiment of the system, the transfer unit or the further transfer unit is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate.
In an embodiment of the system, the liner device comprises an upwardly, such as vertically, extending liner support surface to support a liner surface of the liner, the liner gate is provided in the liner support surface, and a blower is provided to blow a gas, such as air, between the liner support surface and the liner surface of the liner located in the operational position.
In an embodiment of the system, the positioning unit comprises a lower positioning support to support a lower liner side of the liner in the operational position, two first side positioning supports to support a first liner side of the liner in the operational position, two second side positioning supports to support a second liner side of the liner in the operational position,

In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device is driven by a packaging drive, the liner device is driven by a liner drive, and the packaging drive and liner drive are configured to operate independently from each other.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a first cigarette sensor configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the receiving chamber, and the system comprises a control unit which is in communication with the first cigarette sensor, the liner sensor, the packaging drive and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a second cigarette sensor configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the transport chamber, and the system comprises a control unit which is in communication with the second cigarette sensor, the liner sensor, the packaging drive and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device.
The invention further relates to a system for packaging a set of cigarettes in a packaging configuration in a prefabricated box type package, which system comprises;
- a supplying device for supplying cigarettes in horizontal rows of a predetermined number of cigarettes located side by side in a horizontal position,
- an isolating device for isolating the set of cigarettes from the supplied cigarettes,
- a packaging device for placing the set of cigarettes in the box type package, wherein;
-- the isolating device comprises a receiving chamber configured to receive the set of cigarettes formed by multiple rows of cigarettes placed on top of each other,
-- the receiving chamber comprises a bottom surface to support the most lower row of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, a first side surface to support all first outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, and an opposite second side surface to support all opposite second outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, -- the isolating device is configured to position the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in which all the first outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, all the second outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, and all longitudinal axes of the cigarettes are extending parallel to each other,
-- the packaging device is configured to position the box type package in an open state in a receiving position and to transfers the set of cigarettes from the receiving chamber in said box type package while maintaining the packaging configuration, and
-- the packaging device comprises a liner device configured to wrap a paper liner around the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration during the transfer from the receiving chamber into the box type package.
In an embodiment of the system, the liner device comprises a liner gate, the packaging device is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration, and the liner device comprises a positioning unit to position the liner in an operational position in front of the liner gate.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into a transport chamber of a transport unit while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an embodiment of the system, the packaging device comprises a further transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the transport chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an embodiment of the system, the transfer unit or the further transfer unit is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate.
In an embodiment of the system, the liner device comprises an upwardly, such as vertically, extending liner support surface to support a liner surface of the liner, the liner gate is provided in the liner support surface, and a blower is provided to blow a gas, such as air, between the liner support surface and the liner surface of the liner located in the operational position.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The figures 1A-B show views in perspective of an embodiment of the system according to the invention. The figures 1C-D show enlarged views of the system of the figures 1A-B. The system 1 is capable of packaging a set of cigarettes in a packaging configuration in a prefabricated box type package. The system comprises a supplying device 5 for supplying cigarettes in horizontal rows of a predetermined number of cigarettes located side by side in a horizontal position, an isolating device 7 for isolating the set of cigarettes from the supplied cigarettes, and a packaging device 8 for placing the set of cigarettes in the box type package.
The figure 2A shows a view in perspective of the supplying device, the isolating device and the packaging device. Several parts of the system are not shown in order to obtain a clear view. The figures 2B-C show enlarged views of the part II of figure 2A. The system does not contain cigarettes in figure 2B and is provided with cigarettes in figure 2C. The Figures 3A-F show views in cross section along the line Ill-Ill of figure 2C. The Figures 4A-D show front views of the part IV of figure 2C. The figures 3 and 4 show the supplying device, the isolating device and the packaging device in operation. The Figure 5A-C show a view in perspective of the supplying device, the isolating device, the packaging device and the transport unit. The isolating device comprises a receiving chamber 9 (see the figures 2-4) configured to receive the set of cigarettes 2 formed by multiple rows 6 of cigarettes 66 placed on top of each other. The isolating device is configured to position the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration 3 (see figure 4B) in which all the first outer cigarettes 15 are placed on top of each other, all the second outer cigarettes 16 are placed on top of each other, and all longitudinal axes 19 of the cigarettes are extending parallel to each other. The receiving chamber is configured to receive the set of cigarettes having two rows of ten cigarettes.
The packaging device is configured to position the box type package 4 in an open state 20 in a receiving position 21 and to transfers the set of cigarettes from the receiving chamber in said box type package while maintaining the packaging configuration (see figure 9 and 10).
The receiving chamber comprises a bottom surface 10 to support the most lower row 11 of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, a first side surface 13 to support all first outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, and an opposite second side surface 14 to support all opposite second outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes.
A first pushing unit 17 is provided at the first side surface and a second pushing unit 18 is provided at the second side surface. The first and second pushing units are configured to push the first and second outer cigarettes towards each other in order to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in which all the first outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, all the second outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, and all longitudinal axes of the cigarettes are extending parallel to each other (see the figures 4A- B).
The first and second pushing units are configured to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in which the longitudinal axes of the cigarettes of the most upper row 12 of the set of cigarettes, the most lower row of the set of cigarettes, and the first and second outer cigarettes forms a rectangle 22 (see figure 4B) when seen in a view in cross section perpendicular to said longitudinal axes.
The receiving chamber comprises a plate like static member 23 (see figure 2B) which extends upwardly, such as vertically, and in a plate direction parallel to the longitudinal axes of the cigarettes. The plate like static member extends in the middle between the first and second side surfaces. The receiving chamber comprises an inlet opening 26 to receive the supplied rows of cigarettes, and the plate like static member extends from the bottom surface towards the inlet opening. The first pushing unit comprises a first pushing member 27 having a first pushing surface 29 extending upwardly from the bottom surface, the second pushing unit comprises a second pushing member 28 having a second pushing surface 30 extending upwardly from the bottom surface, and the first and second pushing units are configured to move the first and second pushing members towards each other to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration. The first and second pushing units are configured to move the first and second pushing members along the bottom surface (see figures 4A-B).
The packaging device comprises a transfer unit 31 (see figures 3A-F) to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into a transport chamber 32 of a transport unit 25 (see figures 5A-C) while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
In an alternative embodiment, the packaging device comprises a transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
The receiving chamber comprises an outlet opening 34 located at a first end 35 of the set of cigarettes and the transfer unit is configured to push at an opposition second end 36 of the set of cigarettes to move the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber via the outlet opening.
The isolating device comprises a first support unit 37 having a first support member 39 which is movable from the inlet opening to the bottom surface in order to guide supplied rows of cigarettes in the receiving chamber and which is movable back from the bottom surface to the inlet opening. The isolating device comprises a second support unit 38 having a second support member 40 which is movable from the inlet opening to the bottom surface in order to guide supplied rows of cigarettes in the receiving chamber and which is movable back from the bottom surface to the inlet opening. The first support unit is configured to support the rows of cigarettes near or at the first ends of the cigarettes, and the second support unit is configured to support the row of cigarettes between the first ends and the second ends of the cigarettes.
The transfer unit comprises a transfer member 41 which is movable from a starting position
42 at the second ends of the set of cigarettes in the receiving chamber into an end position
43 at the outlet opening, and vice versa. The first support unit 37 is configured to move the first support member 39 from the bottom surface to the inlet opening 26 when the transfer member is moving back from the end position to the starting position and beyond the first ends of the cigarettes of the row of cigarettes of the supplying device located at the inlet opening. The second support unit 38 is configured to move the second support member 40 from the bottom surface to the inlet opening 26 when the transfer member is moving back to the starting position and beyond the middle between the first ends 35 and the second ends 36 of the cigarettes of the row of cigarettes of the supplying device located at the inlet opening.
The figures 6A-B show views in perspective of the packaging device and a liner device. Figure 7 also shows a view in perspective of the liner device wherein parts of the system are removed in order to obtain a clear view. The figures 8A-D schematically show views in perspective of the positioning unit of the liner device. Figure 9 shows a view in perspective of the packaging device and the liner device. The figures 10A-E show views in cross section along the line X-X of figure 9 and show the packaging device and the liner device in operation. The figures 11 A-C show views in perspective of the box type package.
The liner device 44 is configured to wrap a liner 45 around the set of cigarettes 2 during the transfer of the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration from the receiving chamber 9 into the box type package 4.
The liner device comprises a liner gate 46, the packaging device is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration, and the liner device comprises a positioning unit 47 to position the liner in an operational position 48 in front of the liner gate. The further transfer unit 33 is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate.
The liner device comprises an upwardly, such as vertically, extending liner support surface 49 to support a liner surface 50 of the liner, the liner gate is provided in the liner support surface, and a blower 51 is provided to blow a gas, such as air, between the liner support surface and the liner surface of the liner located in the operational position.
The positioning unit comprises a lower positioning support 52 to support a lower liner side 24 of the liner in the operational position, two first side positioning supports 53 to support a first liner side 55 of the liner in the operational position, two second side positioning supports 54 to support a second liner side 56 of the liner in the operational position, the two first side positioning supports are formed by an upper first side positioning support 57 located above the liner gate and a lower first side positioning support 58 located below the liner gate, and the two second side positioning supports are formed by an upper second side positioning support 59 located above the liner gate and a lower second side positioning support 60 located below the liner gate. The positioning unit is configured to move the two first side supports and the two second side supports around the liner gate in order to position the liner in the operational position. The liner device comprises a liner sensor 61 for detecting if a liner is located in the operational position.
The packaging device comprises a further transfer unit 33 to push the set of cigarettes out of the transport chamber 32 and into the box type package 4 located in the receiving position 21 while maintaining the set of cigarettes 2 in the packaging configuration 3 (see the figures 9 and 10).
The packaging device is driven by a packaging drive 62, the liner device is driven by a liner drive 63, and the packaging drive and liner drive are configured to operate independently from each other.
The packaging device comprises a first cigarette sensor 67 configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the receiving chamber 9, and the system comprises a control unit 65 which is in communication with the first cigarette sensor 67, the liner sensor 61 , the packaging drive 62 and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device (see figure 12).
The packaging device comprises a second cigarette sensor 64 configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the transport chamber 32, and the system comprises a control unit 65 which is in communication with the second cigarette sensor 64, the liner sensor 61 , the packaging drive 62 and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device.
As required, detailed embodiments of the present invention are disclosed herein; however, it is to be understood that the disclosed embodiments are merely exemplary of the invention, which can be embodied in various forms. Claims

1. System for packaging a set of cigarettes in a packaging configuration in a
prefabricated box type package, which system comprises;
- a supplying device for supplying cigarettes in horizontal rows of a predetermined number of cigarettes located side by side in a horizontal position,
- an isolating device for isolating the set of cigarettes from the supplied rows of cigarettes,
- a packaging device for placing the set of cigarettes in the box type package, wherein;
-- the isolating device comprises a receiving chamber configured to receive the set of cigarettes formed by multiple rows of cigarettes placed on top of each other,
-- the receiving chamber comprises a bottom surface to support the most lower row of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, a first side surface to support all first outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, and an opposite second side surface to support all opposite second outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes,
-- a first pushing unit is provided at the first side surface and a second pushing unit is provided at the second side surface, which first and second pushing units are configured to push the first and second outer cigarettes towards each other in order to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in which all the first outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, all the second outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, and all longitudinal axes of the cigarettes are extending parallel to each other, and -- the packaging device is configured to position the box type package in an open state in a receiving position and to transfer the set of cigarettes from the receiving chamber in said box type package while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
2. System according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second pushing units are
configured to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in which the longitudinal axes of the cigarettes of the most upper row of the set of cigarettes, the most lower row of the set of cigarettes, and the first and second outer cigarettes forms a rectangle when seen in a view in cross section perpendicular to said longitudinal axes.
3. System according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the receiving chamber comprises a plate like static member which extends upwardly, such as vertically, and in a plate direction parallel to the longitudinal axes of the cigarettes.
4. System according to claim 3, wherein the plate like static member extends in the middle between the first and second side surfaces.
5. System according to claim 3 or 4, wherein the receiving chamber comprises an inlet opening to receive the supplied rows of cigarettes, and the plate like static member extends from the bottom surface towards the inlet opening.
6. System according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the first pushing unit comprises a first pushing member having a first pushing surface extending upwardly from the bottom surface, the second pushing unit comprises a second pushing member having a second pushing surface extending upwardly from the bottom surface, and the first and second pushing units are configured to move the first and second pushing members towards each other to place the set of cigarettes in the packaging
configuration.
7. System according to claim 6, wherein the first and second pushing units are
configured to move the first and second pushing members along the bottom surface.
8. System according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the packaging device comprises a transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
9. System according to any one of the claims 1-7, wherein the packaging device
comprises a transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into a transport chamber of a transport unit while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
10. System according to claim 9, wherein the packaging device comprises a further
transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the transport chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
11. System according to any one of the claims 8-10, wherein the receiving chamber comprises an outlet opening located at a first end of the set of cigarettes and the transfer unit is configured to push at an opposition second end of the set of cigarettes to move the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber via the outlet opening.
12. System according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the isolating device comprises a first support unit having a first support member which is movable from the inlet opening to the bottom surface in order to guide supplied rows of cigarettes in the receiving chamber and which is movable back from the bottom surface to the inlet opening.
13. System according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the isolating device comprises a second support unit having a second support member which is movable from the inlet opening to the bottom surface in order to guide supplied rows of cigarettes in the receiving chamber and which is movable back from the bottom surface to the inlet opening, and wherein the first support unit is configured to support the rows of cigarettes near or at the first ends of the cigarettes, and the second support unit is configured to support the row of cigarettes between the first ends and the second ends of the cigarettes.
14. System according to any one of the claims 8-13, wherein;
- the transfer unit comprises a transfer member which is movable from a starting position at the second ends of the set of cigarettes in the receiving chamber into an end position at the outlet opening, and vice versa,
- the first support unit is configured to move the first support member from the bottom surface to the inlet opening when the transfer member is moving back from the end position to the starting position and beyond the first ends of the cigarettes of the row of cigarettes of the supplying device located at the inlet opening, and
- the second support unit is configured to move the second support member from the bottom surface to the inlet opening when the transfer member is moving back to the starting position and beyond the middle between the first ends and the second ends of the cigarettes of the row of cigarettes of the supplying device located at the inlet opening.
15. System according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the receiving chamber is configured to receive the set of cigarettes having two rows of ten cigarettes.
16. System according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the system comprises a liner device configured to wrap a liner around the set of cigarettes during the transfer of the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration from the receiving chamber into the box type package.
17. System according to claim 16, wherein the liner device comprises a liner gate, the packaging device is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration, and the liner device comprises a positioning unit to position the liner in an operational position in front of the liner gate.
18. System according to claim 17, wherein the transfer unit or the further transfer unit is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate.
19. System according to claim 17 or 18, wherein the liner device comprises an upwardly, such as vertically, extending liner support surface to support a liner surface of the liner, the liner gate is provided in the liner support surface, and a blower is provided to blow a gas, such as air, between the liner support surface and the liner surface of the liner located in the operational position.
20. System according to any one of the claims 17-19, wherein the positioning unit
comprises:
- a lower positioning support to support a lower liner side of the liner in the operational position,
- two first side positioning supports to support a first liner side of the liner in the operational position,
- two second side positioning supports to support a second liner side of the liner in the operational position,
- the two first side positioning supports are formed by an upper first side positioning support located above the liner gate and a lower first side positioning support located below the liner gate, and
- the two second side positioning supports are formed by an upper second side positioning support located above the liner gate and a lower second side positioning support located below the liner gate.
21. System according to claim 20, wherein the positioning unit is configured to move the two first side supports and the two second side supports around the liner gate in order to position the liner in the operational position.
22. System according to any one of the claims 16-21 , wherein the liner device comprises a liner sensor for detecting if a liner is located in the operational position.
23. System according to any one of the claims 16-22, wherein the packaging device is driven by a packaging drive, the liner device is driven by a liner drive, and the packaging drive and liner drive are configured to operate independently from each other.
24. System according to claim 22 or 23, wherein;
- the packaging device comprises a first cigarette sensor configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the receiving chamber, and
- the system comprises a control unit which is in communication with the first cigarette sensor, the liner sensor, the packaging drive and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device.
25. System according to any one of the claims 22-24, wherein;
- the packaging device comprises a second cigarette sensor configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the transport chamber, and
- the system comprises a control unit which is in communication with the second cigarette sensor, the liner sensor, the packaging drive and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device.
26. System for packaging a set of cigarettes in a packaging configuration in a
prefabricated box type package, which system comprises;
- a supplying device for supplying cigarettes in horizontal rows of a predetermined number of cigarettes located side by side in a horizontal position,
- an isolating device for isolating the set of cigarettes from the supplied cigarettes,
- a packaging device for placing the set of cigarettes in the box type package, wherein;
-- the isolating device comprises a receiving chamber configured to receive the set of cigarettes formed by multiple rows of cigarettes placed on top of each other,
-- the receiving chamber comprises a bottom surface to support the most lower row of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, a first side surface to support all first outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes, and an opposite second side surface to support all opposite second outer cigarettes of the rows of cigarettes of the set of cigarettes,
-- the isolating device is configured to position the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration in which all the first outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, all the second outer cigarettes are placed on top of each other, and all longitudinal axes of the cigarettes are extending parallel to each other,
-- the packaging device is configured to position the box type package in an open state in a receiving position and to transfers the set of cigarettes from the receiving chamber in said box type package while maintaining the packaging configuration, and
-- the packaging device comprises a liner device configured to wrap a paper liner around the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration during the transfer from the receiving chamber into the box type package.
27. System according to claim 26, wherein the liner device comprises a liner gate, the packaging device is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration, and the liner device comprises a positioning unit to position the liner in an operational position in front of the liner gate.
28. System according to claim 26 or 27, wherein the packaging device comprises a
transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
29. System according to claim 26 or 27, wherein the packaging device comprises a
transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the receiving chamber and into a transport chamber of a transport unit while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
30. System according to claim 29, wherein the packaging device comprises a further transfer unit to push the set of cigarettes out of the transport chamber and into the box type package located in the receiving position while maintaining the set of cigarettes in the packaging configuration.
31. System according to claim 30, wherein the transfer unit or the further transfer unit is configured to move the set of cigarettes through the liner gate.
32. System according to any one of the claims 26-31 , wherein the liner device comprises an upwardly, such as vertically, extending liner support surface to support a liner surface of the liner, the liner gate is provided in the liner support surface, and a blower is provided to blow a gas, such as air, between the liner support surface and the liner surface of the liner located in the operational position.
33. System according to any one of the claims 26-32, wherein the positioning unit
comprises:
- a lower positioning support to support a lower liner side of the liner in the operational position,
- two first side positioning supports to support a first liner side of the liner in the operational position,
- two second side positioning supports to support a second liner side of the liner in the operational position,
- the two first side positioning supports are formed by an upper first side positioning support located above the liner gate and a lower first side positioning support located below the liner gate, and
- the two second side positioning supports are formed by an upper second side positioning support located above the liner gate and a lower second side positioning support located below the liner gate.
34. System according to claim 33, wherein the positioning unit is configured to move the two first side supports and the two second side supports around the liner gate in order to position the liner in the operational position.
35. System according to any one of the claims 26-34, wherein the liner device comprises a liner sensor for detecting if a liner is located in the operational position.
36. System according to any one of the claims 26-35, wherein the packaging device is driven by a packaging drive, the liner device is driven by a liner drive, and the packaging drive and liner drive are configured to operate independently from each other.
37. System according to claim 35 or 36, wherein;
- the packaging device comprises a first cigarette sensor configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the receiving chamber, and
- the system comprises a control unit which is in communication with the first cigarette sensor, the liner sensor, the packaging drive and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device.
38. System according to any one of the claims 35-37, wherein;
- the packaging device comprises a second cigarette sensor configured to check if a set of cigarettes is located in the transport chamber, and
- the system comprises a control unit which is in communication with the second cigarette sensor, the liner sensor, the packaging drive and the liner drive to coordinate the operation of the packaging device and the liner device.
