Definitions

  • the object of the present invention is a furnishing element .
  • the present invention also relates to a kitchen cabinet comprising said furnishing element.
  • the present invention also relates to a bathroom cabinet comprising said furnishing element.
  • Solutions of furnishing element are generally known comprising a work surface which is accessible from the front and is adapted to form a support surface for carrying out typical operations, such as for example, preparing food and dishes in the case of a furnishing element for a kitchen cabinet.
  • Furnishing elements of this type usually are provided with functional compartments adapted to receive objects, tools and devices for assisting in the preparation of food and dishes, for example electrically-operated objects, tools and devices such as household appliances and the like.
  • Such functional compartments typically are accessible from the front and normally are arranged in a box-like body located below the work surface and which it supports, which may be provided with doors, or closing doors, which make the contents of such a compartment hidden or concealed from sight, as needed.
  • functional compartments of this type may be open compartments located on shelves arranged at a higher height with respect to the work surface, thus being easily accessible by an operator operating on the work surface but not having doors adapted to hide the contents of such an open compartment.
  • Furnishing elements particularly kitchen cabinets
  • vertical retracting sliding doors adapted to selectively open and close a functional compartment, for example by being concealed behind a portion of the kitchen cabinet when they are open.
  • Such retracting sliding doors however require a seat in a concealed portion of the furnishing element capable of receiving them, thus taking away a useful volume of space which necessarily increases the dimension of the furnishing element itself, useful space available being equal.
  • a system for concealing a tilting element by pushing it downwards from a raised position to a lowered position in which it is hidden behind a cabinet is known from International Patent Application No. WO-2009-113118.
  • Such a solution is only applied to short cabinets because the tilting element, which is to be pushed from the upper edge thereof, is to be easily reached by a normal user, for example a person of average height, also when the tilting element is in raised position, taking into consideration the dimension of said front portion of cabinet which forces the user to act from a given distance from the tilting element.
  • a tilting element is to be of sufficiently reduced size as to be hidden behind the front portion of the cabinet, it therefore being adapted to close compartments having a limited extension in height .
