Abstract

Description

車両用表示装置
 本発明は、車両用表示装置に関するものである。
 車室内に映像を投影する装置の一例として特許文献1の車両用表示装置がある。特許文献1に記載の車両用表示装置は、車室内に走査型プロジェクターを備え、運転者の視線方向に応じて画像を表示する領域を変更するようにプロジェクターを動作させるものである。

 特許文献1記載の車両用表示装置は、画像を車室内の複数の領域におけるいずれかの領域に表示させるために、特許文献1の段落[0046]に記載されているように、レール上に配置されたプロジェクターの位置を変位させる表示駆動手段が不可欠であるか、或いは同段落[0075]に記載されているように、レンズ駆動用のアクチュエーターによってレンズを動かす駆動系が不可欠であった。このため、機械的にプロジェクター本体或いはレンズを変位させなければならないため、時間応答性が遅く、瞬時に所望の位置に投射画像を切り替えることができないという問題があった。また、駆動系は駆動用モータ類を電気的に制御しなければならないため、省エネ化、小型軽量化、省スペース化を図り、耐電磁性を確保する点で不利であった。
 本発明は、上記問題点に鑑みなされたものであり、時間応答性を向上し、装置の省エネ化・小型軽量化・省スペース化を実現し、安全性と耐電磁性を確保し、車室内に画像を表示することができる車両用表示装置を提供することを目的とする。
 上記目的を達成するために、本発明は、請求の範囲に記載の構成を備える。その一例として、本発明に係る車両用表示装置は、車両用表示装置は、車両の車室内に設けられ、光源装置からの出射光を前記車室の非透過部材に投射して画像を表示する車両用表示装置であって、前記車両用表示装置は、光源装置と、前記光源装置から出射した出射光を反射偏向して前記車室に向けて投射し、前記車室内の非透過部材上において前記出射光が照射される被投射領域に画像を形成する画像形成装置と、前記光源装置及び前記画像形成装置の動作を制御する主制御装置と、を含み、前記画像形成装置は、前記出射光を反射する反射面、及び当該反射面を往復の回転運動させる反射面駆動部を含み、前記出射光を第1方向及び当該第1方向と直交する第2方向に反射偏向して走査する光走査部と、前記反射面により反射偏向された光の偏向角度を拡大する拡大光学系と、を含み、前記拡大光学系は、前記拡大光学系から出射される光の偏向角が、前記反射面により反射偏向された光の偏向角の3倍以上となるように拡大する光学素子を含んだ広角投影系である、ことを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、時間応答性を向上し、装置の省エネ化・小型軽量化・省スペース化を実現し、安全性と耐電磁性を確保し、車室内に画像を表示することができる車両用表示装置を提供することができる。上記以外の本発明の目的、構成、効果は以下の説明で明らかにされる。

 以下、図を用いて本発明の実施形態を説明する。
 図1は車両110の車室を天井側から見た模式図(平面視)である。図2は被投射領域の具体例を説明する図である。
 図1、図2に示すように、車両用表示装置51は、一つの画像形成装置1により車室内の非透過部材、例えば各種ピラーやダッシュボードに向けて出射光を投射し、非透過部材において出射光が当たる部位を被投射領域として用い、この被投射領域に画像を表示する装置である。車室内には複数の非透過部材があるので、複数の被投射領域を生成することができる。
 車両110の車室には、ハンドル100、運転席101、助手席102、及びバックミラー103(図2参照)が設けられる。車右側面には右サイドミラー104R、左側面には左サイドミラー104Lが備えられる。被投射領域は、右サイドミラー104R脇にある右フロントピラー3、左サイドミラー104L脇にある左フロントピラー2、ダッシュボード4、右サイドピラー5、左サイドピラー6、右リアピラー7、左リアピラー8、及び後部座席9等、車室内において光が透過しない非透過部材上に設けられる。被投射領域はこれらの非透過部材に直接光を照射して形成されてもよいし、シート状のスクリーンを非透過部材に貼付して形成されてもよい。その他、フロントガラス、ドアガラス、リアガラスの一部に半透明領域を設けてスクリーンとしても良いし、車室内に別途設けたスクリーンを被投射領域としてもよい。図2では、右フロントピラー3に右前被投射領域73、左フロントピラー2上に左前被投射領域72、ダッシュボード4上に中央前被投射領域74が形成される。
 車両用表示装置51は、車内外部情報の撮像装置である第1カメラ53を備える。本実施形態では、第1カメラ53として、車両110の前方画像を撮像する前方カメラ53Fと、車両110の後方画像を撮像する後方カメラ53Rとを備える。前方カメラ53Fは、フロントガラス越しに前方画像が撮像できる位置、例えば車両110の天井とフロントガラスとの連結部であって、フロントガラスの左右幅中央に備えてもよい。後方カメラ53Rは、車両110の後方画像が撮像できる位置、例えば車室又は車両110の背面に備えられる。
 更に車両用表示装置51は、投射画像を撮像する装置である第2カメラ54を備える。第2カメラ54は、車室の全周囲方向が撮像できる広角カメラでもよいし、複数のカメラを組み合わせて車室の全方向を撮像してもよい。第2カメラ54は、車室の天井中央付近、画像形成装置1が取り付けられる部位の近傍に備えてもよい。
 また車両用表示装置51は運転者の顔画像を取得する装置である第3カメラ55を備える。第3カメラ55は、運転席101に乗車した運転者の目の動きが撮像できる位置、例えば車両110の天井とフロントガラスとの連結部であって、フロントガラスの中央よりも右側に備えてもよい。
 図3Aは、車両用表示装置51の画像形成装置1が設けられた車両を後方からみた図、図3Bは車両の右側面から見た図である。また、図4は図3Bにおける、画像形成装置1の取り付け部の拡大図である。図4では、画像形成装置1は車室内の天井面に固定して設けるが、天井に画像形成装置1を設置する凹部を設け、そこに設置しても良い。
 図3A、図3B、図4に示すように、画像形成装置1は車室内の天井中央付近に設置されており、後述の光走査部11と拡大光学系21(図3ではともに非図示)を有し、光走査部11で反射偏向された光を拡大光学系21により広角化して半球状の領域に拡げて、車室内を走査、変調することにより画像形成装置1自身、あるいは拡大光学系21を構成する光学素子を変位させることなく単一又は複数の被投射領域に画像を表示する。本明細書における「反射偏向」とは、光線の進行方向に反射面を介在させることで光線の進行方向を変化させることをいう。
 図5Aは、車両用表示装置51の全体構成のブロック図である。図5Bは、被投射領域データの構成例を示す図である。
 車両用表示装置51は、撮像装置52、視線検出装置56、主制御装置57、情報装置62、光源装置63、被投射領域切替スイッチ64、画像形成装置1及び通信I/F68を含んで構成される。
 撮像装置52は、第1カメラ53(車内外画像撮像装置)、第2カメラ54(投射画像撮像装置)、第3カメラ55(顔画像撮像装置)を含む。
 第1カメラ53は、車内外部を撮像した外部画像を撮像する装置である。例えば運転者の死角になっている領域を含めた車両110の周辺状況を取得し、取得画像を主制御装置57に出力する。主制御装置57は、取得画像そのもの、あるいは取得画像にもとづいた車の安全運転を支援する映像情報などを投射し、表示する。
 主制御装置57は前方カメラ53Fが撮像した前方画像から左端領域画像及び右端領域画像を抽出し、左端領域画像は左前被投射領域72、右端領域画像は右前被投射領域73に投射してもよい。これにより、運転者からみて左フロントピラー2、右フロントピラー3の死角となる領域の画像を左前被投射領域72及び右前被投射領域73の其々に表示し、死角内の障害物や歩行者の存在を運転者に呈示することができる。
 同様に主制御装置57は後方カメラ53Rで撮像した後方画像を後部座席9上に投射し、車両110の後退走行時の運転支援を行ってもよい。この場合、主制御装置57を車両ネットワーク(CAN:Control Area Network)80に接続し、車両110に搭載されたECU(Engine Control Unit)82を経由して各種センサ84が出力したデータを取得するように構成してもよい。このデータには車両110の走行方向情報(例えばギアレバーの操作位置)を含んでもよい。そして主制御装置57は取得したデータを基に走行方向の判定を行い、後退走行時にのみ後方画像を後部座席9上に投射するように構成してもよい。
 第2カメラ54は、被投射領域に投射された投射画像を撮像する装置である。投射画像が歪んでいる場合は、後段の主制御装置57の歪補正部61で歪を補正した信号が生成され、その信号を用いて光源装置63と画像形成装置1を駆動することで歪の無い画像が形成される。
 第3カメラ55は運転者の顔画像を撮像する装置で、撮像した顔画像を基に視線検出装置56により運転者がどの方向を見ているのかを検出し、運転者の視線方向に配置された被投射領域に投射画像を表示する。投射画像は、情報装置62からのテレビやDVDなどのアミューズメント映像情報、第1カメラ53で取得した車外の映像、車外の映像情報にもとづく安全運転を支援する映像、交通状況表示映像などである。
 主制御装置57は、投射画像の変調信号を制御する変調信号制御部58、光源装置63から放出される光の光量を制御する光量制御部59、後述する光走査部11を制御する走査駆動制御部60、投射画像の歪補正を行う歪補正部61、車室内の被投射領域の位置を検出する被投射領域検出部65、被投射領域を検出する際に用いるキャリブレーション画像を記憶するキャリブレーション画像記憶部66、及び検出された被投射領域を固有に識別する識別情報とその被投射領域に向けて光源装置63からの出射光を反射偏向させるためのミラー12の角度とを関連付けた被投射領域データ(図5B参照)を記憶する被投射領域データ記憶部67とを含む。
 主制御装置57は、撮像装置52、情報装置62からの信号を基に光源装置63、画像形成装置1を駆動することによって車室内の被投射領域に画像を形成する。
 情報装置62はテレビやDVD等のアミューズメント映像や地図等の情報を有する情報装置である。
 被投射領域切替スイッチ64は、車室内のどの被投射領域にどのような画像を表示するか指定する操作を、運転者や同乗者から受け付ける。被投射領域切替スイッチ64は、方向キーやタッチパネルを用いて構成される。
 図16は、光源装置63の構成の一例を示す図である。
 光源装置63は、R(赤色)光を発生するレーザ光源933Rと、G(緑色)光を発生するレーザ光源933Gと、B(青色)光を発生するレーザ光源933Bを有しており、各レーザ光源から出射された光線束934R、934B、934Bは、レンズ935R、935G、935Bにより略平行光の光線束936R、936G、936Bに整形される。最終的には、各レーザ光源933R、933G、933Bとレンズ935R、935G、935Bの距離は、被投射領域上での各レーザ光の集光状態の差異が少なくなるように微調整される。937はミラー、938は赤色光を透過し緑色光を反射する特性を有する色合成素子、939は赤色光と緑色光を透過し、青色光を反射する特性を有する色合成素子で、937、938、939により、光線束936R、936G、936Bは共軸に合成された光線束940になり、光源装置63から出射される。色合成素子938、939は、例えば、プリズムやダイクロイックミラーの組み合わせで構成される。光線束940のサイズはφ1~3に設定される。
 レーザ光源933Rは、例えば、波長630nmの光を発生する半導体レーザで構成される。レーザ光源933Gは、例えば、第2高調波発生を用いて、波長532nmの光を発生する半導体励起の固体レーザで構成される。レーザ光源933Bは、例えば、波長445nmの光を発生する半導体レーザで構成される。各レーザ光源を適切に設定することにより、投射画像は、綺麗な白色と色再現性の広い鮮やかな画像とすることができる。
 各レーザ光源は、レーザチップへの注入電流、励起用レーザチップへの注入電流を変化させることで変調しても良いし、レーザ光源とは別に外部光変調器を用いて変調してもよい。外部光変調器としては音響光学変調器、電気光学変調器などがある。なお、図16では、各色のレーザ光源がそれぞれ一つの場合を示したが、レーザ光源の個数はこれに限定するものではなくそれぞれ一つ以上の光源を用いて光源装置63を構成しても構わない。合成する光源の個数を増やすことでより明るい投射画像を形成することができる。
 光源装置63を出射した光線束940は集光レンズ106に向かう。光源装置63と集光レンズ106の間には、ミラーを配置して光路を折り畳むことで光学系をコンパクトにしてもよい。また、光学素子を追加してビーム形状を整形しても良い。
 画像形成装置1は、光源装置63から出射されたレーザ光を用いて車室内に表示する画像を形成する装置であり、レーザ光を走査する光走査部11と、レーザ光を拡大投影するレンズユニットからなる拡大光学系21とを含んで構成される。光走査部11はミラー12及びミラー駆動部12aを含むがその詳細は後述する。
 図6は、本実施形態に係る車両用表示装置全体のハードウェア構成図である。本実施形態では車両用表示装置51の視線検出装置56及び主制御装置57は同一のハードウェアを用い、視線検出装置56及び主制御装置57の各機能を実現するソフトウェアをハードウェアで実行することにより構成される。視線検出装置56及び主制御装置57は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)301、RAM(Random Access Memory)302、ROM(Read Only Memory) 303、HDD (Hard Disk Drive)304、入力I/F305、及び出力I/F306を含み、これらがバス307を介して互いに接続されて構成される。
 入力I/F305には、第1カメラ53、第2カメラ54、第3カメラ55、情報装置62、及び被投射領域切替スイッチ64が接続され、各部材からのデータや信号が視線検出装置56及び主制御装置57に入力される。
 出力I/F306には、光源装置63、及び画像形成装置1が接続される。主制御装置57は、光源装置63及び画像形成装置1の其々に対して制御信号を出力し、光源装置63及び画像形成装置1の動作を制御する。
 なお、車両用表示装置51のハードウェア構成は上記に限定されず、制御回路と記憶装置との組み合わせにより構成されてもよい。
 つぎに、本実施形態に係る車両用表示装置51の画像形成装置1について詳しく説明する。ここで図7を用いて車両用表示装置51の光走査部11について説明する。
 図7は、光走査部11の構造を説明する図(光走査部11の拡大図)である。光走査部11は、光源装置63から出射した光(レーザ光)を照射するミラー12、ミラー12に連結される第1トーションバネ13、第1トーションバネ13に連結される第1保持部材14、第1保持部材14に連結される第2トーションバネ15、第2トーションバネ15に連結される第2保持部材16、及び永久磁石とコイルとからなる。永久磁石とコイルは図7では煩雑を避けるために図示していない。ミラー12の大きさは1~1.5mmである。
 光走査部11のコイルはミラー12に略平行に形成されており、ミラー12が静止した状態にある時、ミラー12と略平行な磁界が発生する。コイルに電流を流すと、フレミングの左手の法則により、ミラー12と略垂直なローレンツ力が発生する。ミラー12は、ローレンツ力と、第1トーションバネ13、第2トーションバネ15の復元力がつりあう位置まで回動する。ミラー12が持つ共振周波数でコイルに交流電流を供給することにより、ミラー12は共振動作を行い、第1トーションバネ13を回転軸として回動する(β回転)。また、ミラー12と第1保持部材14を合わせた共振周波数でコイルに交流電流を供給することにより、ミラー12と第1トーションバネ13と第1保持部材14は共振動作を行い、第2トーションバネ15を回転軸として回動する(β回転)。このようにして、2つの方向について、異なる共振周波数による共振動作が実現する。なお、共振周波数による共振動作の代わりに、共振動作ではない駆動を適用してもよい。
 上記のような光走査部11の具体例としては、MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical Systems)ミラーが既に知られている。図8A、図8Bを参照してミラー12の駆動波形について説明する。図8Aは光走査部11の第1トーションバネ13の駆動波形を示す図である。図8Bは光走査部11の第2トーションバネ15の駆動波形を示す図である。
 本実施形態に係る光走査部11は、図7における第1トーションバネ13を回転軸とする方向にミラー12を正弦波状に駆動(有効偏向角:±12.9度、周期:37.0μsec)し(図8A参照)、図7における第2トーションバネ15を回転軸とする方向にミラー12を鋸歯波状に駆動(有効偏向角:±7.1度、周期:16.7msec)している(図8B参照)。有効偏向角とはミラー12の偏向角のうち画像形成を行う最大角度である。図8Bに示した駆動波形の一周期である16.7[msec]が、本実施形態に係る車両用表示装置51における一画面の描画に要する時間である。
 図9は、光走査部11のミラー12により偏向走査される光の詳細を説明するための模式図である。
 ミラー12に入射する光線は、実際には光源装置63から出射した光線束940であるが、ここでは煩雑を避けるために光線束940の主光線の光線19だけを示している。
 ミラー12は偏向角ゼロのときを基準状態とし、ミラー12への入射光19i、図7における第1トーションバネ13を第1回転軸、図7における第2トーションバネ15を第2回転軸とするとき、第2回転軸に垂直な面内から入射角18.4度でミラー12に入射する。この場合の「偏向」は、光線の有無、光の進路方向とは関係なく、単にミラー面(あるいはミラー面の法線)の向きが変わることを意味している。
 ミラー12で反射した光はその後、拡大光学系21に入射する。拡大光学系21の光軸18はミラー12が基準状態のときに反射光19rが向かう方向と一致している。
 図中、843はミラー12のβ回転により反射偏向される光線の軌跡、844はミラー12のα回転により反射偏向される光線の軌跡である。
 図10Aは光走査部11と拡大光学系21とを含めた画像形成装置1の光学系全体を説明するための図で、光走査部11の第1回転軸を含む説明図(VZ面視)である。図10Bは光走査部11と拡大光学系21とを含めた画像形成装置1の光学系全体を説明するための図で、光走査部11の第1回転軸を含む説明図(HZ面視)である。
 図10A、図10Bに示すように、座標系は拡大光学系21の光軸をZ軸としたHVZ座標系とし、ミラー12の位置を原点とする。
 既述の光源装置63から発した光(レーザ光)は、コリメータレンズにより直径約1mmの平行光に整形された後、集光レンズ106を介して光走査部11のミラー12を照射する。集光レンズ106は、焦点距離81mmの光源側が凸形状の平凸レンズでミラー12の手前40mmの位置に配置している。ミラー12により反射偏向された光は拡大光学系21に入射する。
 拡大光学系21はミラー12側より順にL1~L5の5群5枚のレンズで構成され、レンズL1~L4はH、V方向共にそれぞれ負、正、正、負の屈折力、レンズL5はH方向に正、V方向に負の屈折率を有し、レンズL1はミラー12側に凹の形状、レンズL5は出射側(像側)の凸の形状をしている。本実施形態では拡大光学系21がレンズのみで構成される場合を示したが、拡大光学系21はレンズ系の一部をミラー、あるいはプリズムを用いた系に置き換えた構成であってもよい。一例として、拡大光学系21は図11に示す組レンズにより構成される。
 本実施形態に係る拡大光学系21のレンズL1~L4は入出射面ともにVZ面が対称面で±H方向に対称形状、±V方向には非対称の非球面である。レンズL5の入射面はHV対称の非球面で、出射面は球面である。それぞれの面のサグ量はZ(H、V)で表され、Cj(m、n)を係数としたHV多項式(下式数1)となっている。多項式(1)の係数Cj(m、n)は図12に示す。

 拡大光学系21を出射した光はレンズL5出射面から500mmに配置された仮想像面(球面)に結像し、走査する。ミラー12により偏向された光の偏向角(半角)107(V方向)、108(H方向)は、拡大光学系21によりいずれも3倍以上に拡大され画角(半角)17(V方向)、32(H方向)に変換される。像面を結像走査する際、光変調することによって像面には画像が形成される。
 図10A、図10Bに示した拡大光学系21の仮想像面は球面で、一方車室内の被投射領域の形状は車種により、或いは同一車種であっても場所によって異なるため、仮想像面と被投射領域の形状から演算された補正信号を用いて投射画像が形成される。また、拡大光学系21によって補正しきれない歪曲や色収差も、主制御装置57の歪補正部61により電気的に補正される。
 拡大光学系21は、広角投射レンズなので、出射光は車室内の前後左右をカバーするように走査する。本実施形態に係る車両用表示装置51は全走査領域のうち、被投射領域を走査するときだけ画像を表示するようにしている。図13~図15を参照して車両用表示装置51が被投射領域だけに画像を表示する処理について説明する。図13は初期設定処理の流れを示すフローチャートである。
 車両用表示装置51を車両110に設置すると、車両用表示装置51を基準とする被投射領域の位置(向き)を学習させる必要がある。そこで、図13に示す処理により被投射領域のキャリブレーションを行う。
 まず、車両用表示装置51の主電源を投入する。主制御装置57のキャリブレーション画像記憶部66には予め被投射領域を検出するために用いるパターン画像等からなるキャリブレーション画像が記憶されている。被投射領域検出部65はキャリブレーション画像を読み出し、光源装置63と画像形成装置1を駆動してキャリブレーション画像を投射する(S101)。このとき主制御装置57の光量制御部59は光源装置63の光源スイッチをONにした状態を維持し、走査駆動制御部60が光走査部11のミラー12を回動する。
 S101と平行して、第2カメラ54は投射画像を撮像する(S102)。被投射領域検出部65は、投射画像の画像特徴量(例えばコントラストやパターン)を抽出し、既知のキャリブレーション画像の画像特徴量と比較する。そして投射画像にキャリブレーション画像が含まれるかを監視する。
 被投射領域検出部65は、投射画像中にキャリブレーション画像を検出すると(S103/Yes)、走査駆動制御部60からそのときの光走査部11への制御信号を取得し、被投射領域の識別情報と関連付けて一時的にスタックする(S104)。この制御信号は、ミラー12の回転角度を示す、又は演算可能な信号である。
 被投射領域の識別情報は、時刻tで撮像された投射画像に初めてキャリブレーション画像が含まれていることを検知すると、新たな識別情報を付与する。そしてこの新たな識別情報と、そのときのミラー12の回転角度(S104で取得した制御信号から取得)をスタックしておく。時刻t+1で撮像された投射画像にもキャリブレーション画像が含まれており、そのときのミラー12の回転角度が時刻tにおけるミラー12の回転角度と隣接(連続)する角度であれば、同一の被投射領域の識別情報を用いる。そして、時刻t+nの投射画像にキャリブレーション画像が含まれなくなると、時刻t~時刻t+n-1までのミラー12の回転角度が上記新たな識別情報で特定される被投射領域に向けて投射するためのミラー12の角度であるので、図5Bに示す被投射領域データを生成し、被投射領域データ記憶部67に記憶する。
 被投射領域検出部65が、投射画像中にキャリブレーション画像を検出しなかった場合(S103/No)、又はステップS104の後、走査駆動制御部60がミラー12を車室の全周方向に回転させていなければ(S105/No)、S101へ戻り、走査駆動制御部60は異なる角度にミラー12を回転させて処理を繰り返す。
 ミラー12が全周回転すると(S105/Yes)、S104でスタックしたデータを被投射領域データとして主制御装置57の被投射領域データ記憶部67に格納する(S106)。そして初期設定処理を終了する。
 図14は、通常使用時の処理であって、被投射領域の選択モードの処理を示すフローチャートである。
 ユーザは車両用表示装置51の主電源をONにする。被投射領域切替スイッチ64により、ユーザが特定の被投射領域を選択すると(S201/Yes)、S201で選択された被投射領域に関連付けられたミラー12の回転角度に走査駆動制御部60が光走査部11を駆動する間は、光量制御部59は光源装置63の光源スイッチをONにしレーザ光を照射させる。一方、S201で選択されなかった被投射領域に関連付けられたミラー12の回転角度に走査駆動制御部60が光走査部11を駆動する間は、光量制御部59は光源装置63の光源スイッチをOFFにしてレーザ光を照射させない(S202)。
 被投射領域切替スイッチ64により、ユーザが特定の被投射領域を選択しなかった場合は(S201/No)、被投射領域データに記載されたミラー12の回転角度に走査駆動制御部60が光走査部11を駆動する間は、光量制御部59は光源装置63の光源スイッチをONにしてレーザ光を照射させ、被投射領域データに記載されていないミラー12の回転角度に走査駆動制御部60が光走査部11を駆動する間は、光量制御部59は光源装置63の光源スイッチをOFFにする(S203)。
 これにより、車両用表示装置51は、被投射領域に向けてのみ画像を投射することができる。図14の処理は、ユーザは車両用表示装置51の主電源がOFFにされるまで続行する。
 図15は、通常使用時の処理であって、運転者視線切替モードの処理を示すフローチャートである。
 ユーザは車両用表示装置51の主電源をONにする。第3カメラ55は運転者の顔画像を撮像し、視線検出装置56に出力する。視線検出装置56は、運転者の視線方向が中央、左端、右端の3方向のうちのいずれに該当するかを検出し(S301)、その結果を主制御装置57に出力する。
 主制御装置57は、運転者の視線方向が中央にあれば中央前被投射領域74(図2参照)にのみ画像を表示する。運転者の視線方向が左方向にあれば左前被投射領域72(図2参照)に、右方向にあれば右前被投射領域73(図2参照)に画像を表示する(S302)。視線方向が変化すると、それに応じて被投射領域を切り替える。
 本実施形態の車両用表示装置51によれば、画像形成装置1、或いは拡大光学系21を構成する光学素子を駆動することなく、車室内の複数の被投射領域に画像を形成することができる。これにより、画像投影までの時間応答性を向上させることができる。更に、駆動系が不要になるため省エネ、装置の小型軽量化が図れ、車に好適な車両用表示装置51を実現することができる。
 一般に車室内部は車の左右方向よりも前後方向の方が長い空間になっている。このため、本実施形態に係る車両用表示装置51のように、光走査部11の偏向角の大きな第1方向が車両110の左右軸よりも前後軸に近づく向きで天井に設置することにより、拡大光学系21の広角化が容易になり、優れた光学性能にすることができる。
 更に本実施形態に係る車両用表示装置51によれば、拡大光学系21の収差補正し、優れた光学性能を有する車両用表示装置を実現することができる。
 また本実施形態に係る車両用表示装置51によれば、拡大光学系21の最も像側に配置された屈折光学素子を第1方向には正、第2方向には負の屈折力を持たせることで非対称の広角レンズの設計に有利となる。また、最も像側の屈折光学素子の出射面を光出射側に凸の形状とすることで、たとえば太陽光或いはその反射光等の外光が出射面を照射した場合、その反射光は集束することなく発散光になるので、凹面形状の場合と比較すると反射光が車の乗員の目に入射したとしても光エネルギー密度が相対的に小さくなり、安全性が向上する。
 また本実施形態の車両用表示装置51によれば、光走査部11の反射面により偏向走査される光が光学素子に入射する際の入射角が過大とならずコンセントリックに近づくので収差補正に好ましい構成とすることができる。
 また本実施形態の車両用表示装置51によれば、光走査部11はミラー12を用いることでコンパクトな構成でミラー入射光を第1、第2方向に偏向走査することができるので、装置の小型・軽量化に寄与する。
 また本実施形態の車両用表示装置51によれば、時間応答性を向上し、装置の省エネ化・小型軽量化・省スペース化を実現し、安全性と耐電磁性を確保し、車室内の複数個所に画像を表示することができる。
 上記実施形態は本発明を限定する趣旨ではなく、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない様々な変更態様は、本発明の技術的範囲に属する。
 例えば、投射画像の種類は運転者や同乗者の操作により切り替えが可能であるが、運転中は安全のためにテレビやDVDなどのアミューズメント映像情報は投影しないように設定しても良い。そのために、主制御装置57をCAN80に接続し、車両110に搭載されたECU82を経由して各種センサ84から車両110が走行していることを示す情報(例えばトルクデータ、ガソリン噴射量データ、車輪回転数データ)を取得し、車両110が走行していると判定すると、アミューズメント映像情報を非表示に制御してもよい。
 また第1カメラ53は、単一のカメラである必要はなく、運転者の死角になる領域を含む車外の状況を取得する複数のカメラ、そのほか、車内の状況を取得するカメラも別途備えていても良い。車内の状況を取得するカメラを設置する際には、車室内の状況に応じて車室内に設けられた複数の被投射領域のうち、映像を投射する被投射領域を自動で切り替えるようにしても良い。たとえば、画像形成装置1と被投射領域の間に同乗者が乗車している場合や、荷物が置かれている場合は、投射画像の障害物となるので、この場合には障害物の影になる被投射領域には映像を投影しないようにし、別の被投射領域に投影するように制御する。また、被投射領域をステアリングと連動させてもよい。たとえば、ステアリングホイールを右に回転した時は車室内の右側のピラーに映像を投射し、左に回転した時は左側のピラーに投射するように構成してもよい。この場合も、ECUに主制御装置57を接続し、操舵角センサーから操舵角データを取得して被投射領域を切り替えてもよい。

Claims (9)

  1.  車両の車室内に設けられ、光源装置からの出射光を前記車室の非透過部材に投射して画像を表示する車両用表示装置であって、
     前記車両用表示装置は、
     光源装置と、
     前記光源装置から出射した出射光を反射偏向して前記車室に向けて投射し、前記車室内の非透過部材上において前記出射光が照射される被投射領域に画像を形成する画像形成装置と、
     前記光源装置及び前記画像形成装置の動作を制御する主制御装置と、を含み、
     前記画像形成装置は、前記出射光を反射する反射面、及び当該反射面を往復の回転運動させる反射面駆動部を含み、前記出射光を第1方向及び当該第1方向と直交する第2方向に反射偏向して走査する光走査部と、
     前記反射面により反射偏向された光の偏向角度を拡大する拡大光学系と、を含み、
     前記拡大光学系は、前記拡大光学系から出射される光の偏向角が、前記反射面により反射偏向された光の偏向角の3倍以上となるように拡大する光学素子を含んだ広角投影系である、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  2.  請求項1に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記拡大光学系は、前記第1方向に反射偏向される光の偏向角である第1偏向角は、前記第2方向に偏向反射される光の偏向角である第2偏向角よりも大きくなるように拡大する光学素子を含んで形成され、
     前記画像形成装置は、前記第1方向が前記車両の左右軸となす角よりも前記車両の前後軸となす角の方がより小さくなる向きで、前記車室内の天井に設置される、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  3.  請求項1に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記拡大光学系を構成する複数の光学素子のうち少なくとも1つは、回転非対称面を有する光学素子である、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  4.  請求項1に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記拡大光学系を構成する複数の光学素子のうち少なくとも1つは、面対称非球面を有する光学素子である、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  5.  請求項1に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記拡大光学系を構成する複数の光学素子は少なくとも1つの屈折光学素子を有しており、最も像側に配置された屈折光学素子は、前記第1方向には正、前記第2方向には負の屈折力を有し、なおかつ前記屈折光学素子の出射面は光出射側に凸の形状をしている、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  6.  請求項1に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記拡大光学系を構成する複数の光学素子は少なくとも1つの屈折光学素子を有しており、前記反射面に最も近い位置に配置されている屈折光学素子は負の屈折力を有し、なおかつ前記屈折光学素子の入射面は前記反射面側に凹の形状をしている、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  7.  請求項1に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記光走査部の前記反射面は、MEMSミラーにより構成される、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  8.  請求項1に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記画像形成装置は、前記車室の天井に設置され、
     前記主制御装置は、前記被投射領域に向けて前記出射光が反射される角度を定義づけた被投射領域データを記憶する被投射領域データ記憶部を更に備え、
     前記被投射領域データに基づいて、前記被投射領域に向けて前記出射光が反射される向きに前記反射面が位置するときは前記光源装置を点灯させ、前記車室における前記被投射領域ではない向きに前記出射光が反射される角度に前記反射面が位置するときは前記光源装置を消灯させる制御信号を、前記光源装置に対して出力する、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
  9.  請求項8に記載の車両用表示装置であって、
     前記被投射領域は、前記車室内に複数設けられ、
     前記車両用表示装置は、前記車両の運転者の視線方向を検出する視線検出装置を更に備え、
     前記主制御装置は、前記視線検出装置が検出した前記運転者の視線方向に基づいて、前記複数の被投射領域の中から前記運転者の視線方向により近い被投射領域に向けて前記出射光が反射される角度に前記反射面が位置するときは前記光源装置を点灯させ、記運転者の視線方向により近い被投射領域とは異なる他の被投射領域に向けて前記出射光が反射される角度に前記反射面が位置するときは前記光源装置を消灯させる制御信号を、前記光源装置に対して出力する、
     ことを特徴とする車両用表示装置。
