HOW TO WIN Match play - 2 Player rules. Player wins and game ends when a player has won best two out of 3 games.
Match play - 3 or more players. Player wins and match ends when one player wins two games.
Player wins a game when opposing player's or players cups are empty, or "gone dry". So, grab a pint of some aimin' fluid or as some would call it, liquid courage, and get ready for a fun challenge that we hope you enjoy.
All Players must throw from or behind the throw line at all times.
DETERMINING PLAY ORDER THE DIDDLE.
Each game needs to determine the order of players by completing a diddle. All players throw one dart at the dartboard. If any dart does not land in the board, an additional dart is thrown without penalty until each player has successfully landed a dart.
Closest to the double bull goes 1st and then the next closest goes 2nd, etc. Throws are considered a tie if two or more darts are in the double bull. Also, two or more darts are considered a tie if they are in the single bull. Singles do not count as a tie with a double bull. Any darts that are not in the single or double bull are kept in order and will shoot in the game after the players that tie have a tie breaker. A re-throw between the tying players is to be made using the above closest to the bull, procedure. Previous darts are not left in the board on the re throws. Players will shoot in order of the result.
STARTING THE GAME
Each Player starts the game with 1 full 16 oz beer and gets 3 darts per turn, see disclaimer section herein below.
THE ROUND
Each player's turn is composed of attempting to make another player take a drink or drinks of their beverage by landing their darts in randomly selected target zones that are determined by the dice roll. The dice roll consists of one D20 and the Red D6. The crack on target is determined by the sum of the two dice. See Rules. For 3 or more players, see rules variant herein below. Crack on target is determined by the outcome of both dice (see rules). For the purposes of this game, a drink is roughly considered two ounces.
CRACK ON - Landing the 1st dart in the triple or double or single target.
Crack On- If the 1 st dart lands in the determined, single, double or triple zone, then the player advances to the "Crack On" Phase where he must take his 2nd dart to attempt to land a single or a double bull. If the 2nd dart misses either the double or single bull, the opposing player takes a drink and the turn ends. However, if the 2nd dart lands in either a double or a single bull, then a third dart may be thrown to attempt to land an additional single or double bull. If the third dart lands in either a single or double bull or misses the turn ends after the opponent drinks the amount of drinks using the Crack On Drinking Table below to determine the amount of drinks the opposing player must drink.
Crack On Drinking Table
"Cheers Mate" Crack On + 1 miss 1 drink.
" Jammy" Crack On + 1 single bull + miss = 2 drinks.
"Corker" Crack On + 1 single bull + Single bull = 3 drinks.
"Blimey" Crack On + 1 double bull + miss = 3 drinks. "Brill" Crack On + 1 single bull + 1 double bull = 4 drinks.
"Gobssmacked" Crack On + 1 double bull + 1 single bull = 4 drinks.
"Blinding" Crack On + 2 consecutive double bulls = drink the entire cup.
Darts that do not stay in the board do not count.
END OF GAME
The match ends when a player wins 2 of 3 games.
MULTIPLE PLAYERS RULES VARIANT
The more the merrier! This game is best played with 4 or more players. Step One- Determine a shooting order using the Diddle rules to see Who goes first, second, third, etc.
The white die is for 3 or more players. Each player every turn rolls the other two dice as before and includes the roll of the white dice.
PRIOR - Certain sides of the White D6 die show the word, PRIOR, meaning last player just before the current player. That person becomes the current player's opponent for that round.
If the current player is the starting player of the round, the person last on the list is PRIOR and his opponent for his turn.
NEXT - Certain sides of the White D6 die show the word, NEXT, meaning the player that follows the current player. That person becomes the current player's opponent for that round.
If the current player is the last player in the round, the first player of the round becomes the opponent for the current player's turn as he or she is NEXT to play.
MULTIPLE PLAYERS RULES VARIANT CONTINUED CHOICE - A certain side of the die reads the word, CHOICE, meaning the current player gets to choose his opponent for that round. The choice of the opponent must be made before the current player's 1st throw.
YOU - A certain side of the die reads the word, YOU, Oh, how the table turns. The current player must hit at least one of the darts in the current target zone, meaning the red die rolled triple or double number for his or her turn. If the current player fails to land one of the three darts in the zone, the current player must take one drink. That players turn then ends.
Note: If the Red die reads OP while the white die reads YOU, well lucky YOU, you get to choose the target zone, single, double or triple, however, YOU cannot choose the number on the board. Special Variant Option, determined prior to the start of the game, YOU, Current player, instead may fill his cup to the amount of drinks equal to the success of the turn, including "CRACK ON" DRINKING TABLE.
END GAME
Once a player's cup is empty, that player is immediately removed from list of players for that game. The last player still with a beverage wins. Do you have the focus? Do you have the steady hand? Do you have the stomach? Only one can prevail.
Be a good sport, shoot well and the best of British to you!
DISCLAIMERS
Beer Darts can be played with an alcoholic beverage, a non-alcoholic beverage, or no beverage at all. If you choose to play beer darts with alcoholic beverages,
you should be of legal drinking age and drink responsibly. Darts is an adult sports. Darts are not toys and should be used responsibly with the utmost attention to safe play. Children under 18 who play darts should be supervised by adults. Do Not Drink and Drive.
PLAYERS TURN Step 1 - Current player roll the Red D6 and the D20. The combined dice determine the target, Diagram 1. The Red D6 determines whether the target is a triple, the inner ring of the dart board, a single, either side of the triple ring, a double, which is the outer ring of the dart board of OP, the opposing player picks which of 3, single, double or triple section to be the target zone that the current layer has to shoot for. The opposing player cannot choose bull or double bull. Also, the opposing player cannot choose which number the current player has to shoot for. The D20 determines the number on the board as the target.
Triple - The target is the Triple section of the number.
Double - The target is the double section of the number.
Single - The target is the single section of the number.
OP - The opposing player chooses the target - triple, double
or single.
So, for example, if the result of the die roll on the D20 is a 16 and the red die result roll is a double, then the target for that player would be the double 16.
Step 2 - Player throws their 1st dart at the determined target. If they miss their 1st dart, player throws 2nd dart at the determined target. If it lands, their opponent must take a - drink. The current player then may throw his last dart at the determined target. If their 3rd darts lands in the target zone, the current player may choose either to force player to take a drink or to add the equivalent of one drink to their own cup. Players cannot give a drink to another player. No Crack On Drinking Table points. If all 3 darts miss then that player's turn ends.
"All Mouth and No Trousers" 3 misses 0 drinks.
"Wonky" Miss plus 2nd Dart hits = 1 drink
"Cheeky" Miss plus 2nd miss plus Third dart hits = 1 drink
"Conk"Miss, then consecutive hits.
As to the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
