図5は、第2の実施形態に係るフィルタ付き喫煙物品2の概略斜視図である。図6は、図5の線VI-VIに沿った断面を拡大して示す概略断面図である。第2の実施形態に係るフィルタ付き喫煙物品2は、フィルタ22が第1のフィルタ巻取シート122の外表面に第2のフィルタ巻取シート223を更に備え、チップペーパー23の構成が異なる以外、第1の実施形態に係るフィルタ付き喫煙物品1と同様の構成を有する。

図12は、第8の実施形態に係るフィルタ付き喫煙物品8の一部を拡大して示す概略断面図である。第8の実施形態に係るフィルタ付き喫煙物品8は、フィルタ82及びチップペーパー83の構成が異なる以外、第7の実施形態に係るフィルタ付き喫煙物品7と同様の構成を有する。
本試験例では、香料カプセルが内部に配置されたフィルタの試験サンプル1~3を作製し、フィルタ巻取シートの通気度及び不透明度の影響に関して評価した。
(1-1)試験サンプル1の作製
フィルタ部材として、直径7.7mm、長さ27mmの円柱状に成形したアセチルセルロース繊維(5.9Y35000(商品名)、ダイセル社製)を使用した。フィルタ部材の中央部には、直径3.5mmの球形状の香料カプセルが埋め込まれている。香料カプセルは、容積22.4μlからなるカプセル本体内に、17.1μlの有色内容液が保持された構造を有する。有色内容液は、溶媒としてMCT、着色料として銅クロロフィル、香料成分としてメンソール、及び増粘剤を含有し、粘度86mPa・sを有している。このフィルタ部材の外周面上に対して、通常の接着剤(HM335-00(商品名)、ヘンケル社製)を介して、通気度が10000C.U.、不透明度が39.65%である面積661.5mmのフィルタ巻取シート(P-10000c、日本製紙パピリア株式会社製)を巻装した。この通気度紙の外周面上に対して、通常の接着剤(HMS1101B(商品名)、大同化成社製)を介して、透明なセロハン(P-BD#600(商品名)、フタムラ化学社製)を巻装した。
通気度が30000C.U.、不透明度が31.36%であるフィルタ巻取シート(P-30000c、日本製紙パピリア株式会社製)を用いたこと以外は、試験サンプル1と同様に試験サンプル2を作製した。同様に、通気度が0C.U.、不透明度が67.65%であるフィルタ巻取シート(普通紙 24、日本製紙パピリア株式会社製)を用いたこと以外は、試験サンプル1と同様に試験サンプル3を作製した。
各試験サンプル1~3の香料カプセルが埋め込まれた部分を当該香料カプセルに15Nの負荷がかかるように直径方向に押圧し、香料カプセルを破砕させた。次いで、1分間載置した後、フィルタ巻取シートに対して有色内容液が染み出した様子を観察し、その色強度ΔE[-]を測定した。このとき、色強度は、JIS8781に準拠して、X-rite社製の測定機器であるSpectroEyeで測定した。各試験サンプル1~3に対して4回試験を行い、その平均値を色強度ΔE[-]の試験結果として表1に示した。また、図13の(a),(b)及び(c)には、試験サンプル3(FL3)、試験サンプル1(FL1)、及び試験サンプル2(FL2)のフィルタ巻取シートに対して、有色内容液が染み出した様子を模式的に示した。
図13の(a)~(c)に示す試験結果から明らかなように、通気度が10000C.U.,30000C.U.である試験サンプル1,2では、フィルタ巻取シートに対して有色内容液が染み出した面積(S1、S2)は通気度が0C.U.である試験サンプル3の同面積(S3)と比較して1.5倍~2倍広いことがわかる。この結果より、フィルタ巻取シートの有する通気度が高いほど、有色内容液がフィルタの表面に広がりやすいことがわかる。なお、表1に示す試験結果より、色強度ΔEは、試験サンプル1,2が試験サンプル3に比較してフィルタ巻取シートに対して有色内容液が染み出した面積が広い分、低下するものの、不透明度が30%以上であるため十分な値が得られる。
本試験例では、香料カプセルが内部に配置されたフィルタの試験サンプル4~6を作製し、香料カプセルの有色内容液の粘度の影響に関して評価した。
(1-1)試験サンプル4~6の作製
有色内容液の粘度を、増粘剤を添加する量を変化させ、それぞれ86mPa・s、118mPa・s、162mPa・sにしたこと以外は、試験サンプル1と同様に試験サンプル4、5、6を作製した。粘度は、JIS-K7117-1に準拠して、有色内容液を20℃に調整し回転式粘度計(東機産業株式会社製のTVB-10M)により測定した。
各試験サンプル4~6の香料カプセルが埋め込まれた部分を直径方向に香料カプセルに15Nの負荷がかかるように押圧し、香料カプセルを破砕させた。このとき、各試験サンプル4~6の外周面において、それぞれフィルタを直径方向に押圧した外周面部分である2箇所に有色内容液が浸透した。次いで、1分間載置した後、各試験サンプルのフィルタ巻取シートを取り外して、フィルタ巻取シートに対して有色内容液が染み出した領域間の距離[mm]を測定した。各試験サンプルに対して4回試験を行い、その平均値を試験結果として図14に示した。
図14の結果より、各試験サンプルの香料カプセルの有色内容液の粘度が低いほど、フィルタ巻取シートに対して有色内容液が染み出した領域間の距離が短いことがわかる。この結果より、香料カプセルの有色内容液の粘度が低いほど、有色内容液がフィルタ部材の外周面上に巻装されている通気度紙の表面に広がりやすいことがわかる。
本試験例では、表2に示すそれぞれ日本製紙パピリア株式会社製である紙1~7に対して、吸水度試験方法であるクレム法(JIS 8141)に準拠して、吸油度[mm]の測定を行った。
各紙1~7を幅15mm、長さ200mmに切断して、試験片を作製した。次いで、各試験片の短辺から15mmに鉛筆で標線を引き、その標線と短辺との間に重りとなるクリップを取り付けた。容器内に23℃の一般的な香料カプセルの溶媒である中鎖脂肪酸トリグリセリド(MCT)を満たし、各試験片の標線の引いていない端を吊り下げ具に取り付けた。続いて、試験片の標線が一直線になっていることを確認し、迅速に標線まで試験片をMCTに浸漬し、5分間載置した。その後、試験片において、標線からMCTが上昇した高さ[mm]を測定してクレム法による吸油度[mm]とした。各紙に対して10回試験を行い、その平均値を試験結果として表2に示した。なお、試験片をMCTに浸漬する時間は、フィルタ付き喫煙物品の平均喫煙時間を想定して5分間とした。
表2の結果より、通気度が1000C.U.~30000C.U.である紙1~5の試験片では、18.3mm~30.6mmの高い吸油度を得ることができた。また、通気度が7000C.U.~30000C.U.である紙2~5の試験片では、23.3mm~30.6mmの特に高いクレム吸油度を得ることができた。この結果より、高い通気度を有する紙では、紙6の普通紙24の試験片と比較して、1.5倍~2倍程度MCTのクレム吸油度が高く、より広い面積にMCTが広がることがわかる。図15は、紙の密度とクレム法による吸油度との関係を示すグラフである。この結果からも、低い密度を有する紙では、一般的に通気度も高いため、MCTのクレム吸油度が高く、より広い面積にMCTが広がることがわかる。
本試験例では、試験サンプル7~12を作製して、香料カプセルの有色内容液の量/フィルタの断面積の値に関して評価した。
表3に示す寸法を有する球状の香料カプセル1,2を作製した。次いで、表4に示す寸法を有するフィルタ1~3に対して香料カプセル1,2を埋め込んだこと以外は試験サンプル1と同様に、表5に示す試験サンプル7~12を作製した。このときの各試験サンプルの有色内容液の量/フィルタの断面積の値[μl/mm2]を表5に示した。
各試験サンプル7~12の香料カプセルが埋め込まれた部分を直径方向に香料カプセルに15Nの負荷がかかるように押圧し、香料カプセルを破砕させた。このとき、各試験サンプル7~12の外周面において、それぞれフィルタを直径方向に押圧した外周面部分である2箇所に有色内容液が浸透した。
結果より、各試験サンプルの有色内容液の量/フィルタの断面積の値[μl/mm2]は、0.2μl/mm2以上であると、有色内容液がフィルタ部材の外周面上に巻装されている通気度紙の表面に十分に広がることがわかった。

- 喫煙本体;
前記喫煙本体の下流端に配置されたフィルタ部材と、前記フィルタ部材の外側に巻かれて存在する通気度紙とを備え、更に内部に香料カプセルが配置されたフィルタ;及び
前記喫煙本体の下流端部の外周面及び前記フィルタの外周面に巻かれ、前記喫煙本体及び前記フィルタを接続するチップペーパー;
を備え、
前記香料カプセルは、カプセル本体と、前記カプセル本体内に保持され、香料成分を含む有色内容液とを含み、
前記通気度紙は、前記香料カプセルが破砕され、前記有色内容液が放出される領域と対向して配置され、1000C.U.~30000C.U.の通気度を有し、
前記チップペーパーは、前記有色内容液に不透過性であり、かつ前記チップペーパーの円周方向に沿って、互いに離間して配置される少なくとも3つの透明部を備え、それぞれの前記透明部は前記有色内容液が放出される領域と対向して配置されているフィルタ付き喫煙物品。 - 前記チップペーパーのそれぞれの前記透明部は、前記フィルタの長手方向に対して垂直な断面における中心点からみた、隣接する前記透明部の角度間隔が150°以下で配列されている請求項1に記載のフィルタ付き喫煙物品。
