La présente invention concerne un dispositif de commande logique programmable (PLC), comprenant : un conteneur ROS, le conteneur ROS comprenant un module ROS permettant d'acquérir des données à partir d'une unité périphérique ; un module PLC, le module PLC comprenant une région de données et une région de fonction ; et un adaptateur disposé entre le module ROS et le module PLC, l'adaptateur comprenant un module d'E/S et un module de stockage, et le module PLC étant configuré pour acquérir, au moyen du module d'E/S, des données traitées par le module ROS, ou acquérir, au moyen du module de stockage, les données acquises par le module ROS à partir de l'unité périphérique. Au moyen du PLC, un échange de messages basé sur un mécanisme de publication/d'abonnement peut être réalisé parmi une pluralité de PLC.
