Lorsqu'un utilisateur porte le dispositif d'affichage portable, le ou les modules d'affichage sont positionnés devant la paupière gauche et/ou la paupière droite de l'utilisateur à une distance prédéfinie. Chaque module d'affichage comprend un micro-écran d'affichage, un module optique prismatique et un oculaire. Une image affichée par le micro-écran d'affichage est formée au moyen du module optique prismatique, de telle sorte qu'un utilisateur peut visualiser l'image à travers l'oculaire.
