Description

Description GRAVITY POWER GENERATOR
Field of Invention
This invention is related to the use of gravity power to generate electric power, more specifically using the weight of water loaded in a bucket.
Background of the Invention
Electric power has increasingly become the basic necessity for people nowadays. Various types of power plants are built to provide people with electricity. Power plants have been built using hydropower, wind power, fossil fuel power and solar energy, for example. However, the installation of these power plants requires considerable human resources and financial resources. The management for the maintenance is also complicated, costly and takes relatively long time.
Through high creativity and desire of the inventor to meet the needs of general public for electric power, the inventor has created and conducted trials on the use of gravity power to produce large electricity by using a small power input, easy to maintain, and low manufacturing costs.
Brief Description of the Invention
The main purpose of this invention is to provide a low cost and simple generating power plant, both in terms of the provision as well as its maintenance.
A gravity power generator according to this invention utilises the weight of water contained in a bucket, so that the bucket filled with water will descend from a certain height downward. When the filled bucket reaches the lowest point, the water will be drained until the bucket is empty. Then, with the presence of a ballast, the empty bucket will be lifted back up to a certain position where it will be filled with water up to a certain height so that the weight of water in the bucket will take it back down. The going up and down motion of the water bucket will then be connected to pulleys that rotate a turbine hence generating electric power. With the existence of this gravity power mechanism then electric power can be generated.
The amount of electric power generated depends on the size of installed turbine^^slze of water bucket used and the amount of water loaded into the bucket, the hfifm, (vertical distance of the water bucket movement), and the ratio between the pulleys used to determine the rotation per minute (RPM).
Brief Description of the Drawings
This invention can be explained using the following illustration drawings:

Full Description of the Invention
The description of this invention is illustrated using Fig.1 to Fig.7 below. It is just an illustration intended to facilitate an understanding of this invention and not to limit it.
A gravity power plant is a system which utilizes the earth's gravity power as the prime mover by means of pumping water or other liquids into a water bucket (2). The water will be pumped (10) and automatically stop at a certain level that allows the bucket to move down due to gravity force.
First of all is the explanation on how it works, the devices and their respective functions. The entire device arranged to form a gravity power plant attached to frame (1) as the backbone of this power plant unit.
When the water bucket (2) is in a vacant state at the bottom position, a weight balancer (5)- that is connected to the water bucket(2) through wire (4), small weight balancer (7b), and the small pulley (7a) -will move up since the weight balancer (5) has a greater weight than the empty water bucket(2).
The upward movement of bucket (2) is halted by a brake (not shown in the picture) shortly before touching its topmost position until it reaches the upper position which is then held by a retainer/stopper (22). When the empty water bucket (2) is at the uppermost position, the water pump (10) will automatically channel water from a reservoir at the bottom (3) through the pipes (101) which have been installed to fill the water bucket(2).
After the water bucket (2) is fully loaded, the automatic stopper (22) released and water bucket (2) will descend due to its weight that is by now heavier than the weight of the balancer (5). The fully loaded water bucket (2) will move downward straight into the reservoir (3) below it. The descending motion of water bucket (2) via the wire (4) will rotate the small pulley (7a) which is in the same axis as the first large diameter flywheel (6).
The rotation of the first flywheel (6) will then be translated to the second flywheel (8) that is connected through flywheel chain (41). The flywheel chain (41) connects the outer edge of the first flywheel (6) with the second flywheel (8) axle, which in turn rotate the flywheel (8). The outer edge of the second flywheel (8) is connected to the turbine axle through flywheel chain (42) which in turn rotates the turbine.
The arrangement of wheels, pulleys, axes and ratios between pulleys are conducted such a way to maximise the rotation per minute (RPM) of the turbine axle. Hence, the slow up and down motion of the water bucket is capable of rotating the turbine with a high RPM to generate huge electric power.
After the water bucket(2)reaches the predetermined bottom position, it will touch collision dumper covering the steel beam/plank which then presses the exhaust valve (21) on the lower side of the water bucket(2) to discharge the water into water reservoir (3).
A weight balancer (5) which is placed behind the water bucket (2) is set in such a way so that the water bucket (2) can be lifted back by the weight balancer (5) to go straight up to the uppermost position.
This gravity power plant equipped with at least one pair of water buckets (2) complete with its weight balancer (5), wires (4), pulleys (7a, 7b) and other devices. Thus, when one water bucket (2) is in the bottom position, then the other water bucket (2) is at the uppermost position. With such arrangement, the upward and downward movement of the water bucket (2) will rotate each pulley, which then rotates the first flywheel (6), the second flywheel (8), and then spins the turbine (9) repeatedly so that the turbine/dynamo will constantly be spinning.
This power generating device/system is preferably made of a combination of steel framesjj concrete frames or other sturdy materials, so as to ensure high degree of layered seoffiw— This device does not use fuel, whether it is oil, coal or anything else. This plant also does not require wind, sea wave, or sun heat, or waterfall. This device also does, not produce smoke, does not pollute the environment and only produce minimal noise. The only sound is the one coming from the electrically driven water pump attached to the power plant. These gravity power plant equipments will use upholders or bearings for any friction-free axis or rotating shaft as well as the use of a friction-free chain. When chain is used then the gears can be used to translate the linear motion to the rotating motion. If a wire or sling is used, then a plain wheel can be used.
Having described the process of the water bucket movement to produce electric power, the following shall disclose the difference between gravity power generation devices according to this invention against existing power generation devices.
Existing power plants require other energy sources such as fuel oil, waterfall, solar, wind or wave / water flow, and others as a source of energy or prime mover. Those power plants using fossil fuel such as oil, gas and coal will emit smoke that pollute the air and those power plants using nuclear is prone to radiation risk.
This newly invented power plant requires no fuel oil, waterfall, and so on. All it takes is the volume of water for circulation/movement. This certainly does not cause pollution, and does not cause radiation hazards.
Below is the elaboration of the advantages of power generation devices according to this invention:
1. This device is highly environmentally friendly, and does not cause any pollution, either air, water, and other kind.
2. This device does not require other energy sources, but only gravity.
3. It produces more constant and stable electric power.
4. It does not require huge area.
5. It is relatively lower price compared to other power plants.
6. The maintenance is relatively simpler and lower cost.
7. It has layered security level.
Advantages
This device will be useful for:
1. Electricity supply for remote areas/villages, or wherever particularly inlands
2. Very useful for factories, or other industries. 3. Providing electricity with the required amount.
4. Cost efficiency and others.
Several things to be noted shall be as follows:
Firstly, to ensure stable unwavering upward and downward motion of the water bucket (2) due to the gravity force, the guiding rail (11) is used for the vertical axle to guide the vertical movement.
Second, the use of single direction- follow the downward .movement of water bucket in this case- flywheel or plain wheel rotation to translate vertical motion of water bucket through chain or wire. With one way friction-free or at least low- friction bearing in use, when the bucket moving upward, the pulley will move freely and does not rotate the axis.
Related to the vertical movement of the water bucket, when the water bucket (2) moves upward, before reaching the uppermost position, it has to be put on the brakes so that the movement does not exceed the specified upper limit. When the water bucket (2) is filled with water, before reaching certain water height or volume where the weight equal to the weight of the balancer and the bucket(2) about to move back down, it is necessary to have a retaining stopper (22) to allow the bucket remain until the water reaches certain height or volume. When the water reaches certain height in the bucket, the water pump (10) will stop pumping and the stopper (22) will be released to let the water bucket (2) moving down gradually along the track (11).
Before the water-filled bucket (2) reaches the bottom, to avoid a strong collision, it is necessary to have a braking mechanism that is activated automatically just before the water bucket touches the bottom point. Upon reaching the bottom position, the exhaust valve will be opened by contact with the retaining member below and the water in the bucket (2) will be discharged to the reservoir (3). After the water bucket (2) is empty, the bucket will again be pulled back to the uppermost position by the weight balancer (5) to be filled back with water. This process occurs repeatedly to constantly rotates the pulley and the flywheel system hence the turbine to produce electricity.
The features of this invention have been described in detail in accordance with the illustrative drawings included in this description. Various modifications and variations can be done without departing from the scope of this invention. One possible modification,-^
