Description

AN OVEN COMPRISING A HEATER
The present invention relates to an oven comprising a heater.
In ovens, the cooking process is generally performed by operating together the heaters and the fan disposed in the oven cavity. The hot air heated by the heaters disposed on the ceiling, the base or the rear wall of the oven cavity is distributed into the oven cavity by means of the fan. Conventional gas ovens in which a gas burner is utilized for grilling food are commonly known. In such conventional gas ovens, the gas burner is usually arranged close to the ceiling of the oven cavity. The side walls of the oven cavity are provided with supports for mounting a grill rack at one of a plurality of levels below the gas burner. The user places the food to be grilled on the grill rack.
In the state of the art Japanese Patent Application No. JPS6078226, a gas stove comprising a grill chamber and a grill rack for supporting the food to be grilled is disclosed.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven that has both oven and grill functions.
The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises an oven cavity wherein the foodstuff to be cooked are placed; a box-shaped body with front side open that surrounds the oven cavity; a door that provides access into the oven cavity, and a heater that is disposed on the body and that enables the foodstuff placed in the oven cavity to be cooked. The foodstuff desired to be cooked is placed into the oven cavity through the door. The foodstuff is cooked by heating the oven cavity by means of the heater.
The oven of the present invention comprises an opening disposed on the body so as to be above the heater, and at least one carrier whereon the foodstuff desired to be cooked is placed and that is detachably disposed in the opening. The carrier that is disposed on the body so that there remains a distance predetermined by the producer between the carrier and the heater enables the heat emitted from the heater to be transmitted to the foodstuff placed on the carrier. Thus, the user performs the cooking process by rotating the foodstuff on the carrier, and the oven is enabled to be used as a grill.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a support that is disposed on the body and that surrounds the opening, and a reflector plate that is disposed on the support. The support disposed in the body so as to be in the opening forms a surface whereon the reflector plate is positioned. Thus, the reflector plate enabling the heat emitted from the heater to be reflected onto the foodstuff is enabled to be positioned above the heater without contacting the same. While the cooking process is performed on the carrier, the reflector plate disposed above the heater prevents liquids such as oil, etc. flowing from the foodstuff towards the oven cavity from contacting the heater. In this embodiment, the reflector plate comprises a plurality of housings wherein the liquids are collected. By means of the reflector plate, the heater is prevented from malfunctioning by preventing the contact of the heater with liquids during the grill process.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a cover that is movably disposed on the body. As the user places the cover on the body so as to cover the opening, the cooking process is enabled to be performed in the oven cavity inside the oven. The carrier can be placed on the opening as the user moves the cover away from the opening. Thus, cooking process with the grill function can be performed after the user moves the cover from the opening.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a handle that is disposed on the cover. The user easily moves the cover towards or away from the opening by means of the handle.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a shaft that is disposed on the handle, and a first hole that is disposed on the cover and wherein the shaft is disposed. The shaft is rotatably disposed in the first hole so as to enable the handle to rotate around itself.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a connection element that is disposed on the shaft and that is connected to the reflector plate. As the user rotates the handle, the connection element disposed on the shaft is seated onto the reflector plate and enables the handle and the reflector plate to connect to each other. After the connection element is seated onto the reflector plate, the user can move the cover and the reflector plate together by means of the handle. If the user desires to take out the reflector plate for cleaning purposes, he/she moves the reflector plate outwards through the opening by pulling the handle. Thus, user satisfaction is increased by enabling the oven to be cleaned more easily at the end of the cooking process.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises at least one claw disposed on the handle, and at least one second hole disposed on the cover and wherein the claw is fitted. In this embodiment, the oven preferably comprises two claws disposed on the handle and two second holes arranged on the cover. Thus, the handle is firmly attached to the cover by means of the claws.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a spring that is disposed on the shaft so as to be positioned between the handle and the cover. The handle is moved outwards from the cover by means of the spring, and the movement of the handle ends as the claw bears against the cover. The handle is enabled to be kept continuously at the position where the claw bears against the cover by means of the continuous force applied by the spring on the handle.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a carrier housing that is disposed on the body and wherein the carrier is disposed. The carrier is enabled to be positioned in the suitable position on the opening by means of the carrier housing. Thus, the foodstuff placed on the carrier is enabled to be properly positioned with respect to the heater, and the cooking efficiency of the oven is improved.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises the carrier that comprises at least one recess wherein a skewer with foodstuff spitted thereon is placed. The recess arranged on the carrier enables the skewer to be rotated thereon, thus the foodstuff spitted on the skewer is enabled to be cooked by being rotated on the carrier.
By means of the present invention, a multifunction oven comprising a heater that allows grilling is realized.
