Definitions
- the present invention relates to a DNA analysis method and a DNA analysis device using terahertz waves, and more particularly to a DNA analysis method and DNA analysis device using terahertz waves that can accurately determine the type of cancer from the DNA using terahertz waves. It is about.
- Methylation of DNA is known as one of the key mechanisms of cancer development. Methylation of DNA, a tumor marker, occurs early in cancer and is common in almost all cancers, and is unique to each organ in the body.
- FIGS. 1A and 1B are schematic diagrams showing normal DNA and DNA when cancer occurs. As shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, when cancer occurs, DNA differs from normal DNA in that methylation proceeds. Therefore, measuring methylation of DNA can confirm carcinogenesis.
- Bisulfite modification is the production of urasil in unmethylated DNA by deaminoation reaction.
- DNA treated by the bisulfite alteration method is subjected to PCR amplification, sequencing, and the like to measure the degree of methylation of DNA.
- Pseudo-Eliza method is a method of measuring the degree of methylation of DNA through the process shown in FIG. 3.
- the Bisulfite Conversion and Array and Quasi-Eliza methods require complex pretreatment procedures and essentially require markers for the measurements. Despite these complex pretreatments, the Bisulfite Conversion and Array and Quasi-Eliza methods have relatively low accuracy. Therefore, there is a need for a new method and apparatus for accurately determining the type of cancer as well as diagnosing cancer.
