  • a "rolling shutter” system samples pixels in sequence, such as a raster sequence throughout the area of the sensor array. Using a rolling shutter system provides less signal noise and is better used for lower light conditions such as at night.
  • the SS camera is adjustably mounted to the standard camera so that it can be sighted or aligned during a configuration or set up operation so that both the cameras are capturing images of substantially identical fields of view where events in the activity occur.

Because the SS camera is fixed the total available field of view is known and the operator can use the input means to zoom into and/or pan within that field to select a target subfield where incidents of interest in the activity are occurring. This can be done in real time during the event to enable the capture of images at a faster frame rate while maintaining the details of the incident of interest in view.

Abstract

L'invention concerne des systèmes de capture d'images vidéo pour des activités sportives, systèmes qui utilisent simultanément de multiples emplacements de capture d'images pour créer de multiples enregistrements vidéo des mêmes séquences d'événements. Des caméras vidéo à vitesse standard, à grande vitesse et à très grande vitesse peuvent partager le même emplacement de caméra de telle sorte que des images vidéo sont capturées par une caméra standard et capturées simultanément par une caméra à très grande vitesse à partir du même emplacement d'observation. Une autre configuration met en œuvre des caméras à très grande vitesse sur différents emplacements d'observation, toutes dirigées pour capturer des images de toute une zone cible dans les limites d'un plus grand champ où l'activité se produit. Un autre agencement utilise un ensemble de caméras avec au moins trois caméras vidéo toutes au niveau d'un seul emplacement de caméra mais dirigées dans une direction respective qui est différente des directions des autres caméras vidéo, ce par quoi chacune des caméras vidéo capture des images d'une plus petite partie respective de la zone cible. Un système de sélection de données sert à sélectionner, à des fins de stockage en mémoire et/ou à des fins de présentation visuelle dans une diffusion ou dans une vidéo, un sous-ensemble de l'ensemble maximal possible de données d'images à partir du réseau de capteurs d'une caméra, le sous-ensemble représentant un sous-champ sélectionné du champ de vision total de la caméra.
