Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de paraxylène par l'alkylation catalytique de benzène et/ou de toluène avec du méthanol, qui produit un mélange riche en p- d'isomères de xylène, conjointement avec de l'eau et certains sous-produits organiques légers, particulièrement un diméthyléther et des oléfines en C4. Le flux de dégagement gazeux, contenant les oléfines en C4, peut être recyclé vers la réaction à co-injecter avec du méthanol pour réduire l'auto-décomposition de méthanol et la réaction du méthanol en oléfines ou pour fluidiser des particules de catalyseur récupérées par un cyclone de réacteur. L'utilisation de gaz de dégagement recyclé plutôt que d'eau ou de vapeur permet de réduire les effets délétères de l'eau et/ou de la vapeur sur les vitesses de vieillissement et d'activité de catalyseur ainsi que la taille de l'équipement aval nécessaire pour récupérer des sous-produits d'oléfine.
