Additional functions that may be performed using the ground station at the home base, in an automated or semi-automated manner, include filling of hydrogen supplies, replacement of hydrogen cartridges, checking payload, leak -checking the PEMFC stack, and cooling the PEMFC stack. Ground stations that provide these functions while communicating with the UAV via power, communication, and data links may be advantageous to enable widespread use of PEMFC powered UAVs.

Abstract

L'invention concerne des stations au sol et des procédés de contrôle de l'état et de la sécurité, avant le vol, de véhicules aériens sans pilote alimentés par des piles à combustible à membrane échangeuse de protons (PEM). Les stations au sol sont capables de reconditionner les empilements de piles à combustible de véhicules aériens sans pilote et de recharger l'alimentation en hydrogène. Les procédés permettent la vérification et le retour de véhicules aériens sans pilote en service de vol en quelques minutes.
