Abstract
Disclosed are a word lookup method when reading English and a reading system, belonging to the field of the Internet. The method comprises: recording a word tag matching a word and word information (S101); reading an English article (S102); identifying the word in the English article, and generating a word tag matching the word in the English article (S103); when a user clicks on the word in the English article, displaying the word tag matching the word in the English article (S104); and when the user clicks on the word tag, displaying the word information matching the word tag (S105). By identifying each word in the English article and labelling information about each word by means of the system, the above-mentioned method enables the user to look up an unfamiliar word, helps the user learn English, and improves the reading experience of the user.
