- One time interleaving mode may be configured.
- the complete transmission product may correspond to one service. That is, a complete transmission product may include all PLP data necessary for one service.
- Time interleaving mode (s) for PLPs of a particular complete delivered product is time interleaving for PLP (s) of any other delivered products transmitted in the same RF channel. It may be configured independently of the mode (s). When one particular transmission product includes multiple core PLPs and / or layered division unmultiplexed PLPs, these PLPs may have the same or different time interleaving modes (eg, no time interleaving mode and / or hybrid time interleaving mode). ) And / or the same or different time interleaver parameters.
- 32 is a diagram illustrating a type of time interleaving mode.
- the time interleaving mode is largely divided into intra-subframe interleaving and inter-subframe interleaving.
- Intra-subframe interleaving corresponds to a case where interleaving is performed in a subframe. At this time, the interleaving frame is mapped to one subframe. That is, when intra-subframe interleaving is performed, the decoder may decode the corresponding physical layer pipe in the subframe.
- Inter-subframe interleaving corresponds to a case where interleaving is out of one subframe range.
- the interleaving frame is mapped to a plurality of subframes. That is, when inter-subframe interleaving is performed, the decoder may need data of another subframe other than one subframe in order to decode the corresponding physical layer pipe.
- the no time interleaving mode (NO TI) corresponds to intra-subframe interleaving
- the convolutional time interleaving mode (CTI) corresponds to inter-subframe interleaving
- the no time interleaving mode NO TI may be regarded as an interleaving mode having an interleaving depth of zero.
- HTI hybrid time interleaving mode
- CDL convolutional delay line
- an enhanced layer physical layer can be set without considering the decoding process when setting the parameters related to time interleaving mode or time interleaving during encoding.
- Some of the plurality of core layer physical layer pipes divisionally multiplexed in the pipe may use intra-subframe interleaving and others may use inter-subframe interleaving.
- FIG. 33 illustrates a case in which intra-subframe interleaving and inter-subframe interleaving are used simultaneously.
- CORE PLP # 0, CORE PLP # 1, and CORE PLP # 2 are layered division multiplexed in one enhanced layer physical layer pipe (ENHANCED PLP # 3). I can see that there is.
- the first core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 0) corresponds to intra-subframe interleaving because CDL is off HTI mode
- the second core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 1) is HTI mode with CDL on Hence, this corresponds to inter-subframe interleaving
- the third core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 2) corresponds to intra-subframe interleaving because it is a NO TI mode.
- the first and third core layer physical layer pipes (CORE PLP # 0, CORE PLP # 2) can be decoded immediately, while the second core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 1) is a time interleaving unit (N).
- IU time interleaving unit
- the time interleaving unit N IU may be the number of subframes in which cells from one time interleaving block are transmitted during inter-subframe interleaving.
- the pieces of the enhanced layer physical layer pipe have different decoding timings, which means that an additional latency and a buffer are needed to decode the enhanced layer physical layer pipe.
- 34 illustrates subframes when intra-subframe interleaving and inter-subframe interleaving are used simultaneously.
- PLP # 0 PLP # 1
- PLP # 2 enhanced layer physical layer pipe
- the pieces of the enhanced layer physical layer pipe (PLP # 3-A, PLP # 3-B, PLP # 3-C) have five, two and four FEC blocks, respectively, and the core layer physical layer.
- the time interleaving unit N IU of the pipe PPL # 1 may be three.
- the enhanced layer physical layer pipe (PLP # 3) must wait for subframes corresponding to the time interleaving unit N IU to be decoded.
- the output timings of the enhanced layer cells are # 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20 , 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 5, 6, 29, 39, 31, 32 ... Therefore, a part (# 5, # 6) of the first subframe (SUBFRAME # 0) is output after waiting for the two subframes (SUBFRAME # 1, SUBFRAME # 2) is a problem of decoding timing.
- all core layer physical layer pipes should use intra-subframe interleaving.
- having all core layer physical layer pipes use inter-subframe interleaving can be efficient in reducing the decoding timing problem and the associated decoding complexity.
- the time interleaving units (N IUs ) of the core layer physical layer pipes may be different even when a plurality of core layer physical layer pipes that are layered division multiplexed in one enhanced layer physical layer pipe all use inter-subframe interleaving. Can be.
- 35 illustrates a case where different time interleaving units are used simultaneously.
- CORE PLP # 0, CORE PLP # 1, and CORE PLP # 2 are layered division multiplexed in one enhanced layer physical layer pipe (ENHANCED PLP # 3). I can see that there is.
- All three core layer physical layer pipes correspond to inter-subframe interleaving since CDL is on HTI mode.

- the second core layer is 4 time interleaving unit (N IU) of a physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 1)
- the time interleaving unit N IU of the third core layer physical layer pipe CORE PLP # 2 is three.
- the first core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 0) must wait for 1 subframe
- the second core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 1) must wait for 3 subframes
- the third core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 2) must wait for 2 subframes.
- the pieces of the enhanced layer physical layer pipe have different decoding timings, which means that additional latency and buffers are needed to decode the enhanced layer physical layer pipe.
- CORE PLP # 0 and CORE PLP # 1 are included in one enhanced layer physical layer pipe (ENHANCED PLP # 3) in the first subframe (SUBFRAME 0). You can see that it is layered division multiplexed.
- CORE PLP # 1 is layered division multiplexed into one enhanced layer physical layer pipe (ENHANCED PLP # 3) in each of the second and third subframes (SUBFRAME 1 and 2). It is.
- one core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 0) is layered division multiplexed in one enhanced physical layer pipe (ENHANCED PLP # 3) in the fourth subframe (SUBFRAME 3).
- CORE PLP # 1 only needs to wait until the third subframe (SUBFRAME 2), while the core layer physical layer pipe (CORE PLP # 0) must wait until the fourth subframe (SUBFRAME 3). . This is because the subframes after the first subframe SUBFRAME 0 have different structures.
- the pieces of the enhanced layer physical layer pipe have different decoding timings, which means that additional latency and buffer are needed to decode the enhanced layer physical layer pipe. do.
- all core layer physical layer pipes associated with the enhanced layer physical layer pipe may use the same time interleaving mode.
- all core layer physical layer pipes associated with the enhanced layer physical layer pipe may use a hybrid time interleaving mode or a no time interleaving mode.
- interleaving depths L1D_plp_CTI_depth of all core layers may be the same.
- the core layer physical layer pipes corresponding to the enhanced layer physical layer pipes use a hybrid time interleaving mode corresponding to inter-subframe interleaving, all the core layer physical layer pipes use the same time interleaving unit. Can be used.
- each core layer physical layer pipe may include an integer number of FEC blocks in a subframe. FEC blocks).
- dummy modulation values may be used to achieve an integer number of FEC blocks per subframe.
- the available data cells of the subframe may be fully or partially occupied by the physical layer pipe data. If all available data cells do not have corresponding physical layer pipe data, it is important that the unoccupied data cells are modulated rather than remain unmodulated null cells to ensure constant transmit power. This may be accomplished by assigning pseudo-random dummy modulation values to unoccupied data cells.
- unoccupied data cells may occur anywhere within the subframe.
- all available data cells of a subframe are first filled with dummy modulation values, and then the cell multiplexing process can overwrite the dummy modulation values of the occupied data cells with the actual physical layer pipe data. This approach can ensure that all available data cells in the subframe are modulated by physical layer pipe cells or dummy modulation values.
- the total number of available data cells in the subframe is called N cell so that the data cells are indexed from 0 to N cell ⁇ 1, and d i is dummy modulation for the data cell with index i (0 ⁇ i ⁇ N cell ). It can be said that the value b i (0 ⁇ i ⁇ N cell ) represents the i th value of the scrambling sequence described with reference to FIG. 31.
- the real value of the dummy modulation value for the i-th data cell (0 ⁇ i ⁇ N cell ) may be (1-2 * b i ), and the imaginary value may be 0. That is, the dummy modulation values may be generated by mapping the value of the scrambling sequence to one of two phases which are separated by 180 degrees.
- Each N cell available data cells in a subframe may have corresponding dummy modulation values before physical layer pipe data is multiplexed into the subframe.
- the physical layer pipe data belonging to the current subframe can be mapped to the corresponding data cells assigned to that physical layer pipe data and overwrite the dummy modulation values previously assigned to those data cells. have.

- the first physical layer pipe (PLP # 0) is decoded immediately since it corresponds to intra subframe interleaving
- the second physical layer pipe (PLP # 1) corresponds to inter-subframe interleaving and time Interleaving unit (N IU ) is 3, so wait 2 subframes
- third physical layer pipe (PLP # 2) corresponds to inter-subframe interleaving and time interleaving unit (N IU ) is 4, so wait 3 subframes do.
- the three core layer physical layer pipes have different decoding timings.
- the first core layer physical layer pipe (PLP # 0) and the second core layer physical layer pipe (PLP # 1) are synchronized with the third core layer physical layer pipe (PLP # 2) for service (SERVICE A). They have to wait for 3 subframes, which causes unnecessary decoding complexity.
- one particular complete physical layer pipe comprises a plurality of core layer physical layer pipes that are not layered division multiplexed and at least one of these core layer physical layer pipes uses the no-time interleaving mode
