Abstract
The invention concerns a metal beam (104), in particular for a motor vehicle body, comprising two longitudinal pressings (108, 110) with a hollow, open cross-section, each pressing (108, 110) comprising, at the ends of the cross-section of said pressing, two wings attached respectively to the corresponding wings of the other pressing, so as to form two longitudinal joining rebates (112, 114) and delimit a hollow, closed cross-section of the beam. The beam (104) also comprises a reinforcement (116) inside said beam. The reinforcement (116) is a component made from sheet metal extending in a transverse direction between the wings of the pressings, from one of the rebates to the other of said rebates, and has an extension (118) extending beyond said rebate, out of the beam (104).
