Description
Field of Invention
The present invention relates to a mounting bracket, and more particularly to a bumper assembly with a mounting bracket.
In a corner area of a vehicle bumper skin, a product with an outer mould parting line is usually formed due to lack of sufficient space in the corner area of the mould. Black lines are found at the location of the mould parting line after the product being sprayed, thereby rendering the appearance less aesthetic; moreover, burrs tend to be formed at the location of the mould parting line after the product being moulded, thereby affecting the overall quality of the skin.
As for a front bumper skin, the corner area refers to an intersection area between the front bumper skin 1, a headlight 2 and an engine hood 3, as shown in figure 1. In order to ensure that the corner area of the front bumper skin 1 can be smoothly demolded via a lifter, a vertical height A of the corner area is usually configured to be rather larger, which in turn leads the front bumper skin 1 to be formed as a product with an outer mould parting line.
As for a rear bumper skin, the corner area refers to an intersection area between the rear bumper skin 4, a tailgate 5, a taillight 6 and a side body 7, as shown in figure 2. In order to ensure that the corner area of the rear bumper skin 4 can be smoothly demolded via a lifter, the vertical height B of the corner area is usually configured to be rather larger, which in turn leads the rear bumper skin 4 to be formed as a product with an outer mould parting line.

Advantageously, the corner area of the rear bumper skin is the intersection area between the rear bumper skin, a tailgate, a taillight and a side body.
Advantageously, the connecting structure is a hook extending from the bracket main body along the direction away from the rear bumper skin.
In a preferred embodiment, the bracket main body is fixedly connected with the bumper skin via welding portions and/or protruding points.
The bumper assembly of the present invention is connected with a vehicle body part or a bumper part via a connecting structure of a separate mounting bracket, such that the mould space corresponding to a corner area of the bumper skin, whose vertical height is limited, can be promoted, so that the bumper skin can meet the appearance requirements for a product with an inner mould parting line. In addition, the bumper assembly of the present invention can increase the stiffness of the bumper in the local areas by arranging a bracket main body of the separate mounting bracket.

Description of embodiments
The preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
Figs. 3 and 4 illustrate a bumper assembly according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, comprising a front bumper skin 1 and a first mounting bracket 8 arranged on a backside of a corner area of the front bumper skin 1. As shown in Fig. 5, the first mounting bracket 8 comprises a bracket main body 81 and a connecting structure 82. In relation with Fig. 4, it shows that the bracket main body 81 can be pressed against and fitted to the backside of the front bumper skin 1, that’s to say the bracket main body 81 is shaped to a form adapted to that of the front bumper skin 1. The connecting structure 82 extends from an end of the bracket main body 81 along the direction away from the front bumper skin 1 and is formed into an L-shaped flange. The bracket main body 81 is provided with three welding portions 811, which are for example projecting parts formed by means of stamping, through which the bracket main body 81 is directly welded to the backside of the front bumper skin 1. In the present embodiment, the bracket main body 81 further comprises six protruding points 812 which can engage with recesses of the front bumper skin 1 so that the first mounting bracket 8 can be attached to the front bumper skin 1 with a snap fit. The connecting structure 82 is provided with three connecting portions 821, through which the first mounting bracket 8 can be connected with a vehicle body part or a bumper part.
The mould parting line of the front bumper skin 1 of the bumper assembly according to the present embodiment is relocated downwards. As shown in Fig. 4, the outer mould parting line in the prior art is located at the position D, whereas the mould parting line of the front bumper skin 1 of the present embodiment is located at the position E, so as to enable the front bumper skin 1 to be formed as a product with an inner mould parting line. Since the function of the structure below the position E of the mould parting line is realized by the first mounting bracket 8, the front bumper skin 1 can be smoothly demolded in the case of a relatively small vertical height A (as shown in Fig. 1) . That is, the bumper assembly of the present embodiment is connected with a vehicle body part or a bumper part via a connecting structure 82 of the separate first mounting bracket 8, such that the mould space corresponding to a corner area of the front bumper skin 1, whose vertical height A is limited, can be promoted, so that the front bumper skin 1 can meet the appearance requirements of a product with an inner mould parting line. In addition, the bumper assembly of the present embodiment can increase the stiffness of the bumper in the local areas by arranging a bracket main body 81 of the separate first mounting bracket 8.
Fig. 6 illustrates a bumper assembly according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, comprising a rear bumper skin 4 and a second mounting bracket 9 arranged on a backside of a corner area of the rear bumper skin 4. As shown in Fig. 7, the second mounting bracket 9 comprises a bracket main body 91 and a connecting structure 92. The bracket main body 91 can be pressed against and fitted to the backside of the rear bumper skin 4, that’s to say the bracket main body 91 is shaped into a form adapted to that of the rear bumper skin 4. The connecting structure 92 extends from the bracket main body 91 along the direction away from the
rear bumper skin 4 and is formed into a hook. The bracket main body 91 is provided with three welding portions 911, which are for example projecting parts formed by means of stamping, through which the bracket main body 91 is directly welded to the backside of the rear bumper skin 4. Through the connecting structure 92, the second mounting bracket 9 can be connected with a vehicle body part or a bumper part.
Similarly, the mould parting line of the rear bumper skin 4 of the bumper assembly according to the present embodiment is relocated downwards, so as to enable the rear bumper skin 4 to be formed as a product with an inner mould parting line. Since the function of the structure under the position of the mould parting line is realized by the second mounting bracket 9, the rear bumper skin 4 can be smoothly demolded in the case of a relatively small vertical height B (as shown in Fig. 2) . That is, the bumper assembly of the present embodiment is connected with a vehicle body part or a bumper parts via a connecting structure 92 of the separate second mounting bracket 9, such that the mould space corresponding to a corner area of the rear bumper skin 4, whose vertical height B is limited, can be promoted, so that the rear bumper skin 4 can meet the appearance requirements of a product with an inner mould parting line. In addition, the bumper assembly of the present embodiment can increase the stiffness of the bumper in the local areas by arranging a bracket main body 91 of the separate second mounting bracket 9.
The above contents are merely preferred embodiments of the present invention and not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. Variations can be made to the above embodiments of the present invention. Any simple and equivalent variation and modification made according to the claims and description of the present invention falls within the protection scope of the claims of the present invention. Conventional techniques are not described in detail in the present invention.
