Definitions
- the present invention relates to a sanitizing article comprising a woven or nonwoven substrate and may comprise a range of cosmetic cleansing active ingredients and components being dry and hydratable when applied to the treatment site.
- This article is preferably used on the hands, but can also be used on other parts of the body. It can still be used for cleaning animals or inanimate surfaces as furniture.
- the present invention relates to a process for preparing said article and to a method of correctly applying the product described herein.
- sanitizing articles in particular handkerchiefs, are wet packaged. These are packed soaked in the preparation that contains active ingredients among other components that will perform the function of skin cleansing. Usually, they are prepared in non-woven fabric for the consumer to apply the product contained in the handkerchief or place indicated for hygiene.
- US 5,141,803 describes an aqueous composition for impregnation in a toilet tissue having a pH of 3.5 to 4.5 and which contains a preservative system comprising potassium sorbate, citric acid, disodium EDTA and a biocide.
- This article is intended for cleaning or delivery of active ingredients to animate and inanimate surfaces.
- US2014123419 describes a cleaning product having a plurality of layers. A first surface of one of the layers may be produced or adapted for wetting with a desired liquid. A second surface of the layers may be adapted to dry a desired area. The product even has an opening adapted to receive a user's hand.
- CN203436261 describes an article comprising a first fabric body, a second fabric body and a liquid-tight film. The impermeable film is tightened between the first fabric body and the second fabric body. The first body of the fabric and the impermeable film are fixed together in a manner of being easily torn. The second body of the fabric and the waterproof film are fixed together. The second fabric body is a wiper absorbent wiper. According to this document, the article allows the user to wash their hands with the cleaner, removing potential health hazards from being portable.
- a sanitizing article comprising a substrate, a composition applied to at least one surface of the substrate being hydrated moments before being applied to a user's skin, or to an inanimate surface. or in animal being the substrate of hydrophobic material and the composition devoid of free water.
- the present invention achieves these and other objects by a process of preparing said article comprising the following steps:
- composition of the substrate shall be adjusted by the use of coating or foulard application equipment;
- the substrate comprising the cosmetic composition is positioned on a mat within a drying apparatus;
- the present invention further achieves these and other objects by a cosmetic method of using a sanitizing article comprising the following steps:
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention is preferably applied to the user's hands. However, it can be used in any other area. user skin and for cleaning inanimate surfaces and cleaning or dry animal bathing.
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention comprises a substrate which will receive, according to the process of preparing said detailed article below, a composition on at least one of its surfaces. This composition will be responsible for cleaning the skin or surface together with the abrasion made in the use of the substrate comprised in said article.
- Said sanitizing article is impregnated with actives to effect the cleaning of the chosen area. Still these assets may be packed in microcapsules that will offer their controlled release and protection of the assets.
- the cosmetic composition comprised in the article object of the present invention preferably comprises from 5 to 60% by weight of at least one active ingredient.
- the following are added as an active ingredient: moisturizer, oil reducing agent, anti-acne, bactericidal, fungicidal, exfoliating, nourishing agent or mixture thereof.
- the sanitizing article of the present invention has several technical and strategic advantages compared to currently known cleaning articles, some of which are listed below:
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention comprises a much smaller amount of preservative when compared to the products available on the market today. This is because the versions now known are wet, which entails a greater need for care;
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention provides greater shelf life than cleaning articles already known to be dry and hydratable;
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention is more easily accepted by the user since the amount of water and therefore humidity is determined by the user's preference;
- the active ingredients comprised in said sanitizing article object of the present invention do not degrade rapidly as can happen in wet wipes, causing a validity and active potential larger;
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention provides a solution to the perceived drawback of wet or damp wipes by avoiding product waste adhering to the packages comprising them;
- the actives are comprised in microcapsules allowing to increase their efficiency through prolonged / controlled release;
- the fact that the assets are comprised in microcapsules causes their greater protection against degradation and even reaction with other actives or excipients and adjuvants of the composition;
- compositions applied to the sanitizing article object of the present invention are non-comedogenic;
- the user can dose the water usage as per his preference
- microcapsules are used and as it is a dry article, it becomes possible to add actives which would be incompatible in conventional liquid compositions;
- the article object of the present invention being dry makes it easier to apply, preventing the cosmetic composition comprised therein;
- the substrate of the article object of the present invention may be a non-woven or biodegradable and hypoallergenic nonwoven fabric of plant origin.
- the substrate of the sanitizing article is selected from a biodegradable nonwoven polypropylene or vegetable fabric. This substrate is cut to the desired shape for said article by any conventional cutting form. In a preferred embodiment, the substrate is cut to rectangular shape by forming a wipe.
- This substrate will receive a composition according to the process of the present invention on at least one of its surfaces. This process comprises the following steps:
- a cosmetic composition is prepared; c) The cosmetic composition is applied to at least one of the substrate surfaces in an amount sufficient to cover the selected substrate surface;
- the substrate comprising the cosmetic composition is positioned on a mat within a drying apparatus;
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention is preferably packaged in sachets per unit and then packaged.
- Said drying equipment preferably operates at a temperature ranging from 35 ° C to 75 ° C.
- the time that the substrate comprising the cosmetic composition remains within the drying equipment preferably ranges from 2 to 15 minutes.
- the sanitizing article object of the present invention comprises a mixture of surfactants, other actives, excipients and preservatives.
- composition present in the sanitizing article object of the present invention is described below.
- the present invention relates to a method of using the sanitizing article of the present invention. This method is of course limited to use by human users. This method comprises the following steps:
- the hydration of the sanitizing article enables the release of the cosmetic assets included in said article, whether or not packed in microcapsules. Hydration may be performed with distilled, purified, deionized or flowing water.
