Abstract

The present invention relates to a box (1), to a set of blanks or a blank, and to a method for forming a box for projecting to a user virtual images (29) formed from 2-D images generated on a light-emission plane (14). It comprises a frame (2) formed by at least one back lateral face (3), a front lateral face (7) and two side lateral faces, which faces are entirely open on the front lateral face for visual access to the interior of the box. Description

The present invention relates to a housing for projecting virtual images from 2D images, for example generated by a display screen, and to a device for projecting virtual images. mobile phone or by a digital tablet.

 It also relates to a device comprising such a housing, a blank or a set of blanks for forming and a method of mounting such a housing.

 It finds a particularly important application although not exclusive in the field of the dissemination of holographic images for individuals, allowing for example to see video clips of artists, trailers filmed on a black background, or having such a background for example by clipping, or to play video games developed to be viewed in the form of holograms or the like.

 With the invention, the students will for example be able to observe geometry elements with a 3D effect.

 Such an invention also allows a presentation (object, plan, model ...) of a project, for example architectural, prototypes of machine, car etc .. particularly attractive and / or give a third party, an effect of presence when communicating with a remote party.

The projection of an image on a partially reflecting screen, so that the observer has the optical illusion of seeing a virtual image resembling a hologram at the back of the screen, is known as the illusion of "Pepper's ghost" in the Anglo-Saxon language).

 Such projections were first used in the past in advertising or promotional staging. A presenter stands at the back of a large, partially reflective screen located obliquely to the ground. The screen is formed by a transparent canvas stretched, the projected image being the image reflected by a mirror on the canvas.

 Such an arrangement, which allows the presenter to pass through the image without obstructing it however has disadvantages.

 It requires a complex apparatus allowing in particular to stretch the fabric sufficiently to avoid wrinkles that would otherwise result in inadmissible deformations of the image.

 Risks of scratches of the screen, in particular by dust, also exist with the devices of the prior art.

 In addition the parasitic lights inherent to the scene remove the image's color qualities. To overcome this last drawback, it is then necessary to provide very powerful projectors (for example> 8,000 lumens) to obtain a sufficiently contrasted image with his immediate surroundings.

 The idea of using the illusion of "ghost of

Pepper ", no longer on a dark theater stage of large size but in a removable box allowing light to pass from the outside and usable with a PDA having a low-light digital screen, was then considered.

 Thus known (JP 2015 176141, WO 2014/207 519) small housings using the ghost effect of Pepper from a mobile phone.

 Such boxes, closed on the sides and having a horizontal bottom or ground, on the one hand do not allow an enlarged field of view, which limits the number of users to one, and on the other hand do not give the impression that the hologram is actually integrated into the environment of the room in which it is viewed.

 Such boxes are also not designed to be adjustable or scalable depending on the size of the mobile phone.

The object of the present invention is to provide a housing, a blank, a set of blanks, a device and a method for assembling a box that responds better than those previously known to the requirements of the practice, in particular by enabling 3D observation. an object or a person of reduced dimensions (a few centimeters), by several observers, with an impressive effect of transparency and in a small space, without visible screen, without particular technology other than that of the tablet or the PDA in a way that is easily mountable / removable (for example by a child under ten), provided that the projected images have been designed to be viewed from this way, that is to say that they were filmed on a dark background or black background or that they have such a background.

 In a magical way and therefore using a small housing s' enrolling in a cube of dimensions less than lm x lm x lm, and with a plate or a transparent sheet or partially transparent, small (less than 1 m) over 1 m), which therefore does not require a complicated means of tensioning a film, we obtain a surprising result, particularly impressive and with several types of dimensions for the image projector used.

 Its assembly is extremely simple, the housing being otherwise movable and usable in all places. It is simply necessary to have a flat surface that will serve both as a base and background on which the image gives the impression of sitting, which reinforces its presence and its integration into the environment.

 The case is, for example, placed a little below or at the height of the eyes of the spectators / users.

 It has thus surprisingly been observed that such a box exhibited luminosity and rendering results sufficient for mass diffusion at a particularly low cost.

For this purpose, the present invention notably proposes a housing for projection to a user of virtual images from 2D images generated on a light emission plane, comprising a frame formed by at least one rear lateral face (or rear face), a front lateral face (or front face) open for visual access inside the box by the user and two side lateral faces (or lateral faces). ), said frame comprising two end planes, namely a lower plane and an upper plane, the upper plane being arranged to support said light emission plane,

an at least partially transparent planar screen, said frame being arranged to support the screen in an inclined manner with respect to the light emission plane and said screen being arranged to reflect the light emitted by said light emission plane so that virtual images corresponding to said 2D images generated on the light emission plane appear as being located behind the screen in said frame relative to the user, characterized in that the lateral side faces are perforated and fully open on the front side face to form with the latter an enlarged opening in the form of open jaw.

 The flat screen is meanwhile located below the plane formed by the lower sides of said jaw.

 Advantageously, the lower plane is open.

 In advantageous embodiments, one or more of the following provisions are also and / or in addition:

The present invention also provides an image projection device comprising a housing as described above. This device includes a PDA or a mobile phone with digital screen or the screen of a detachable computer or a digital pad. The digital screen is itself programmed to emit discrete 2D images that is to say dissociated from their background and moving for example diverted or filmed on a black background that will allow to give full power to the simulated image giving the impression of a hologram and obtained with the housing according to the invention.

 The invention also provides a method of mounting a device comprising a housing as described above.

 In an advantageous mode the method comprises assembling them at least two blanks with each other.
