Abstract
The invention relates to a driving assistance method for a first vehicle, comprising: - supplying traffic data concerning a second vehicle located in the traffic stream downstream of the first vehicle (123), - supplying a dynamic traffic map comprising a predictive horizon (124), - detecting dense traffic conditions (125) in the traffic stream, - calculating an average traffic speed and a traffic peak downstream of the first vehicle (127), - calculating a target traffic speed of the first vehicle (128) as a function of the average traffic speed and of the traffic peak downstream of the first vehicle, - supplying to the first vehicle the calculated target traffic speed (129).
