Description

A LAUNDRY WASHING OR WASHING-DRYING MACHINE
The present invention relates to a laundry washing or washing-drying machine with decreased noise.
In laundry washing/drying machines, the washing process is realized in a tub and the laundry is placed into a drum that is disposed in the tub and that preferably rotates around a horizontal axis. In order to reduce the vibrations transferred from the rotating drum to the body, the drum is generally hung from the upper side thereof onto the body wall by means of springs. However, especially, high frequency vibrations generated when the drum is rotated at very high speeds are transferred to the top plate and the gaps between the top plate and the body result in noise. Moreover, if the springs are not properly mounted to place or displace while the other components are mounted, the absorbing function cannot be fully carried out and cause abrasions and damage the cables in the assembly area. In the state of the art, various connection members are known for securely connecting the top plate and the spring to the body. However, disposing a large number of connection members onto the body causes both difficulty in assembly and increase in costs.
In the state of the art International Patent Application No. WO2015185234, a connection member that is disposed between the top plate and the body and that enables the top plate and the body to be rigidly connected to each other is disclosed.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a laundry washing or washing-drying machine wherein the noise transmitted to the external environment is reduced.
The laundry washing or washing-drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the claims, comprises a body; a top plate that is attached onto the body; a tub wherein the washing/drying process is realized; springs that absorb the forces acting on the tub and prevent the same from being transmitted to the body, and damping means that are disposed on the body and that hold the top plate so as to decrease the vibration transmitted from the body to the top plate.
The laundry washing or washing-drying machine of the present invention comprises a housing that is arranged on the damping means and wherein the spring is attached from one end so that the spring is attached onto the damping means. The damping means both holds the top plate and prevents the friction between the spring and the body. Thus, the damping means prevents vibration-induced noise generation between the top plate and the body and between the spring and the body during the rotation of the drum.
In another embodiment of the present invention, extensions are provided under the top plate, that extend towards the body and a holder is disposed on the damping means, that presses on at least some part of the extension from above to hold the top plate. Thus, the damping means holds the top plate so as to decrease the gap between the body and the top plate, thus preventing the generation of noise.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the surface of the holder bearing onto the extension is in concave form so as to correspond to the form of the extension. Thus, the holder grasps the extension and prevents the extension from getting out from below.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping means has a bend-shaped support that is seated onto the edge of the body when placed onto the body. Thus, the mounting of the damping means onto the body is simplified.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the damping means has a hanging means whereon the cables providing the transmission of the voltage supplied by the mains to the components inside the body are hung. Thus, by keeping the cables at a safe distance from the spring, the cables are prevented from being damaged. Consequently, malfunctions that may occur due to the abrasion of the cables are prevented.
By means of the present invention, the need for using separate components for supporting the top plate and connecting the spring to the body and by decreasing the number of components connected onto the body, cost advantage and ease of production are provided.
The laundry washing or drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the perspective view of the laundry washing or washing-drying machine related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 2 – is the perspective view of the damping means related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 3 - is the partial cross-section view of the body, the top plate and the damping means related to another embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 4 – is the partial perspective view of the laundry washing or washing-drying machine related to another embodiment of the present invention.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Laundry washing or washing-drying machine
  2. Body
  3. Top plate
  4. Tub
  5. Spring
  6. Damping means
  7. Housing
  8. Extension

  11. Support
The laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises a body (2); a top plate (3) that covers the upper surface of the body (2); a tub (4) that is disposed in the body (2) and wherein the washing process is realized; a spring (5) that enables the tub (4) to be hung in the body (2) and that absorbs the oscillation and vibration movements, and at least one damping means (6) that is disposed on the body (2) so as to be between the body (2) and the top plate (3) and that decreases the vibrations transmitted from the body (2) to the top plate (3) by supporting the top plate (3). The damping means (6) supports the top plate (3) towards the body (2) and decreases the vibrations transmitted from the body (2) to the top plate (3) (Figure 1).
The laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) of the present invention comprises the damping means (6) that has a housing (7) wherein the spring (5) is hung from one end (Figure 2). The damping means (6) is disposed into a gap arranged on the body (2), and the spring (5) is passed through the gap to be hung onto the housing (7). When the spring (5) is hung onto the housing (7), the weight of the tub (4) weighs onto the damping means (6) and the damping means (6) is fitted into the gap. Thus, the need for using a connection member such as screw, claw, etc. for fixing the damping means (6) onto the body (2) is eliminated. Moreover, if a horizontal force acts thereon, the spring (5) bears against the inner wall of the housing (7) and thus the spring (5) is prevented from rotating and dislodging (Figure 4).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises an extension (8) that is disposed on the top plate (3) and that extends towards the body (2) and a holder (9) that is disposed on the damping means (6) and that bears against the extension (8) from above so as to support the extension (8) towards the body (2) (Figure 3). The holder (9) extends parallel to the top plate (3) so as to remain between the top plate (3) and the body (2). The top plate (3) is disposed onto the body (2) so that the extensions (8) go under the holder (9). The holder (9) presses the extension (8) towards the body (2) and enables the top plate (3) to be held so that no gap remains between the top plate (3) and the body (2).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the surface of the holder (9) facing the body (2) is concave. The surface of the holder (9) in contact with the extension (8) is concave so as to correspond to the form of the extension (8). Thus, the holder (9) tightly holds the extension (8) and generation of noise is effectively prevented.
In another embodiment of the present invention, on the damping means (6), a support (11) is provided, that supports the damping means (6) by bearing against the edge of the body (2). The support (11) is L shaped so as to grasp an edge of the body (2). Thus, the damping means (6) is tightly held on the body (2)
In another embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprises cables that provide electrical connection between the components inside the body (2), and the damping means (6) has a hanging means (10) that carry the cables. The hanging means (10) prevents the cables from contacting the spring (5), thus enabling the cables to be safely positioned in the body (2).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the damping means (6) is produced from elastic material. Thus, the spring (5) is prevented from wearing down the damping means (6) and from causing the same to corrode.
In the laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) of the present invention, by attaching the spring (5) onto the damping means (6), the need for using any connection member to fix the damping means (6) onto the body (2) is eliminated, thus simplifying the assembly. The damping means (6) holds the top plate (3), thus preventing the generation of noise while providing the security of the spring (5) and the cables. Thus, the number of components mounted onto the body (2) is decreased and the noise transmitted to the outer environment is efficiently eliminated.
