Abstract
The household appliance (1) of the present invention comprises a body (2), an upper plate (3) that is disposed on the upper part of the body (2) and that protects the body (2), and at least one pin (4) that is disposed on the upper plate (3) and that extends from the upper plate (3) towards the body (2) when the upper plate (3) is mounted on the body (2).
Description
The present invention relates to a household appliance comprising a damping member.
Especially during usage of household appliances like the washing machine and the laundry dryer, the motor, used in rotating the tub and the drum within the tub in the washing and/or the drying steps, makes oscillatory movements depending on the load and the rotational speed. The vibration created in the body due to the oscillatory movement increases the noise level. In the state of the art, the upper plate is fixed on the body by being seated on the sides of the body. However, gaps are formed between the upper plate and the body when moving away from the fixed points of the upper plate on the body towards the center and the vibration on the upper plate increase due to these formed gaps. This situation causes the household appliance to operate noisily and the objects placed on the upper plate to overturn.
In the state of the art United States Patent Application No. US2007266742, a top cover supporting structure is disclosed.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a household appliance that operates silently.
The household appliance realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body and an upper plate that is disposed at the upper part of the body, forming a rigid structure and enabling objects to be placed on the household appliance. The household appliance comprises at least one pin that is disposed on the upper plate, that extends from the upper plate to the side walls of the body and that enables the upper plate to rest on the body and to be mounted on the body.
The household appliance of the present invention comprises a damping member that is fixed on the body, that forms a barrier between the upper plate and the body and that has at least one retainer that rests against the pin to stay at least partially above the pin when the upper plate is mounted on the body. The pin is connected to the damping member by being inserted under the retainer that extends laterally over the damping member. By means of this configuration, the upper plate is mounted rigidly on the body.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the retainer is produced from elastic material. Thus, the retainer, when inserted under the pin, stretches and facilitates the fixing of the pin, connected to the upper plate, to the body.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping member comprises a support that at least partially clasps the body when mounted on the body and forms an L shape together with the damping member.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping member comprises at least one strengthening element disposed on the retainer surface that faces the upper plate.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping member comprises a housing whereon the connection elements like the screw are mounted and that enables the damping member to be fixed on the body.
A household appliance realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1- is the sideways perspective view of a household appliance.
Figure 2- is the sideways cross-sectional view of the body and the upper plate.
Figure 3 – is the view of detail A in Figure 2.
Figure 4 – is the perspective view of the damping member.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
- Household appliance
- Body
- Upper plate
- Pin
- Retainer
- Damping member
- Support
- Strengthening element
- Housing
The household appliance (1) comprises a body (2), an upper plate (3) that is disposed on the upper part of the body (2) and that protects the body (2), and at least one pin (4) that is disposed on the upper plate (3) and that extends from the upper plate (3) towards the body (2) when the upper plate (3) is mounted on the body (2). When the upper plate (3) is mounted on the side walls of the body (2), the pins (4) situated on the sides of the upper plate (3) bear against the side walls of the body (2).
The household appliance (1) of the present invention comprises a damping member (6) that is disposed on the body (2) so as to remain between the body (2) and the upper plate (3), that decreases the vibrations on the upper plate (3) by supporting the upper plate (3) and that has at least one retainer (5) enabling the pin (4) to be at least partially inserted thereunder when the upper plate (3) is mounted on the body (2). The retainer (5) that extends laterally on the damping member (6) exerts force from the top to the pin (4) that rests against the body (2), enabling the upper plate (3) to be mounted on the body (2) so that no gap is left therebetween. Thus, formation of vibrations and noise originating from vibrations is prevented on the upper plate (3).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the retainer (5) is produced from elastic material. Thus, when the upper plate (3) is placed on the body (2), the pin (4) stretches the retainer (5) and is easily inserted under the retainer (5).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping member (6) comprises two retainers (5) thereon that extend oppositely. By means of the retainers (5) being disposed symmetrically on the damping member (6), the same damping member (6) can be used on both of the opposite side walls of the body (2). Thus, ease of production and assembly is provided.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping member (6) comprises a support (7) that is disposed thereon, that bears against the body (2) and that facilitates the mounting of the damping member (6) on the body (2). The bend-shaped support (7) partially surrounds the side of the body (2) thereby facilitating the fixing of the damping member (6) on the body (2).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the support (7) is produced by bending the damping member (6) so that almost a right angle is formed with the damping member (6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping member (6) comprises at least one strengthening element (8) that is disposed on the retainer (5) surface facing the upper plate (3).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the damping member (6) comprises a housing (9) that enables the connection elements allowing the damping member (6) to be mounted to the body (2) to be seated therein.
In an embodiment of the present invention, when the damping member (6) is mounted on the body (2), the retainer (5) surface facing the body (2) is convex. Thus, the pin (4) is prevented from sliding and dislodging from under the retainer (5).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the retainer (5) is produced integrated with the damping member (6). Thus, ease of production and assembly is provided.
By means of the present invention, the upper plate (3) is mounted on the body (2) such that there is no gap therebetween by means of the damping member (6). Thus, during operation of the household appliance (1), the noise created due to vibrations and shaking is prevented.
