- the methods for performing uplink access by a station (English: station; abbreviation: STA) mainly include the following:
- Method 1 A competitive access method based on Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA);
- the STA can perform the carrier interception by itself, and the access is performed when the channel is idle.
- the STA can receive the trigger frame for the random access sent by the AP (English: trigger) Frame for random access; for short: TFR), the resource block is randomly selected for access;
- the STA may receive the trigger frame (English: trigger frame) sent by the AP according to the indication of the trigger frame. Data transmission on the channel.
- the STA needs to send a buffer size report (English: Buffer Size Report; BSR for short), and the BSR may be sent by using the foregoing mode 1 or mode 2 or other manners.
- the OFDMA-based scheduling access method can also be implemented by other access methods.
- the STA may send a radio frame to the AP by using the mode 1 or the mode 2, where the radio frame carries the indication information, which is used to indicate that the AP can send the trigger frame to trigger the STA to send the uplink data (while also triggering other STAs to send the uplink data) .
- each STA is allowed to use the above three methods for data transmission at the same time, when the number of STAs is large, the number of users participating in CSMA/CA competition or OFDMA competition will be many, which will be large.
- the earth improves the probability of collision between users, thereby reducing the utilization of the channel.
- the embodiment of the invention provides a management mechanism of the channel access mode, thereby reducing the congestion degree of the system and improving the channel utilization rate.
- Embodiment 1 Multi-user transmission framework
- the AP needs to provide a trigger frame.
- the basic process is as follows:
- Step 1 The AP sends a trigger frame, which is used to trigger the station to perform OFDMA-based random access.
- the station sends a packet to generate a random backoff number from the contention window, and the station updates the random backoff value according to the number of resources included in the trigger frame for random access, and if the backoff is completed, the decision is made. send.
- the station sends a packet to generate a random backoff number from the contention window, and the station updates according to the access condition included in the trigger frame and the number of resources for random access corresponding to the access condition.
- the random backoff value is determined if the backoff is completed.
- the foregoing transmission conditions may include requirements for the type of the site random access packet (Association Request, Buffer Size Report, Idle/Available Channel Report, Channel Status Report, Channel Quality/Signal to Noise Ratio Report), or / and the type of service for the random access packet.
- the foregoing sending condition may further include whether the station needs to perform channel busy judgment on the access, the station accesses the channel when the channel is idle, or the station updates the random backoff value when the channel is idle.
- Step 3 After receiving the random access packet of one or more sites, the AP sends an acknowledgement frame.
- the acknowledgement frame includes the acknowledgement indication information of the random access packet successfully received by the AP.
- Step 4 The station receives the acknowledgement frame, and obtains, by using the acknowledgement indication information, whether the random access packet sent by itself is successfully received by the AP.
- the AP can also be a general site in the network.
- the high-efficiency short training field (English: High Efficient-Short Training Field; referred to as: HE-STF) pre-signal (for example: L-STF (Legacy Short Training Field), L-LTF (Legacy Long Training Field) , compatible with long training fields), L-SIG (Legacy Short Training Field), RL-SIG (Repeat Legacy Short Training) Field, repeat compatible short training field), HE-SIG-A (High Efficiency Signal Field), HE-SIG-B (High Efficiency Signal Field) Packet start event, synchronization or channel estimation, and indicates the packet format.
- L-STF Legacy Short Training Field
- L-LTF Legacy Long Training Field
- L-SIG Legacy Short Training Field
- RL-SIG Repeat Legacy Short Training
- HE-SIG-A High Efficiency Signal Field
- HE-SIG-B High Efficiency Signal Field
- the receiving end receives and parses the HE-STF pre-signal, and the HE-STF pre-signal indicates the number of symbols and the packet length of the HE-LTF, and the length of the data payload or the number of symbols of the data payload can be obtained by the packet length.
- the receiving end receives the HE-STF signal for automatic Gain Control (AGC) adjustment and synchronization at the receiving end.
- the receiving end then receives the HE-LTF signal, and the receiving end can perform channel estimation based on the HE-LTF signal. If the packet length information indicates that there is a data payload, the receiving end continues to receive the data payload.
- the HE-LTF signal may be a row or a column in the P-matrix, or may be a row or a column in another orthogonal matrix, and may be selected from a set consisting of low correlation sequences.
- the receiving end may determine whether the HE-LTF sequence on a certain subchannel is used and/or determine the corresponding received signal strength based on the received HE-LTF signal. Specifically, the receiving end performs channel estimation based on the received HE-LTF signal to obtain a channel coefficient h, which may be a complex number (for example, in the case of a single receiving antenna), or may be a vector (for example, in a multiple receiving antenna) In case).
- the received signal power value can be obtained by modulo h and calculating the squared value, or other mathematical operations. The received signal power value depends on the channel gain and the transmit signal power of the sender. Whether the HE-LTF sequence on a certain subchannel is used can be determined by the received signal power value.
- the receiving end can determine that the HE-LTF sequence on a certain subchannel is used.
- the physical layer of the receiving end may report the receiving condition of the HE-LTF to the MAC layer by carrying a receiving vector (rxvector) message in the RX start indication, which may specifically include detection on the subcarrier/subchannel/spatial stream/LTF sequence. In the case, optionally, it may be whether the HE-LTF sequence is used or the corresponding received signal strength.
- the receiving end may set the threshold based on the noise power strength or noise plus the interference strength before receiving the uplink packet. It is also possible to reserve part of the subchannel and/or HE-LTF sequence when allocating the subchannel and the HE-LTF sequence, and the receiving end can measure the noise power intensity on the reserved resources, or the noise plus the interference intensity, and set Threshold. By adjusting the threshold, it is possible to control whether the success rate, false detection rate or missed detection rate of a certain HE-LTF sequence is used.
- This embodiment provides an access method, including:
- the AP After receiving the first frame that carries the uplink transmission requirement information sent by the STA, as shown in FIG. 3D, the AP can contend for the channel, and the trigger frame 1 is sent when the contention avoidance is completed.
- the STA may include the buffer status report information or the bandwidth request information in the uplink multi-user data transmission.
- the AP After receiving the STA request, the AP sends a trigger frame 2, which indicates the uplink multi-user data transmission resource allocated by the AP to the station according to the user request. After receiving the trigger frame 2, the STA indicates the number of uplink multi-users according to the trigger frame. Uplink multi-user data transmission according to transmission resources.
- the AP After receiving the first frame that carries the uplink transmission requirement information sent by the STA, as shown in FIG. 3E, the AP can contend for the channel, and when the contention avoidance is completed, the trigger frame 1 is sent, where the trigger frame 1 indicates the number of spatial streams of the uplink transmission or The number of LTF symbols or the length of the sequence.
- the STA may include an agreed sequence (such as an LTF sequence, or an LTF sequence on a specific subchannel) in the uplink transmission frame 1.
- FIG. 3G is a schematic diagram of a joint operation of multiple transmission modes. As shown in FIG. 3G, the foregoing multiple transmission modes applicable to different scenarios may work in combination. When different types of data need to be transmitted, the corresponding transmission mode may be selected according to the scenario in which the data is applied, or multiple transmission modes may also be selected for simultaneous transmission.
- This embodiment provides an access method, including:
- the uplink multi-user transmission data is sent to the AP, where the uplink multi-user transmission data is transmitted on the uplink transmission resource;
- the station If the third frame is not received within the agreed time, the station enables the CSMA/CA-based contention access mode access channel or the CSMA/CA contention access backoff timer corresponding to the uplink transmission demand information queue.
- the uplink transmission resource information in the third frame may further include an identifier of one or more sites that use the uplink transmission resource.
- the backoff timer may also be a backoff counter.
- the uplink transmission requirement information includes whether the STA has data to be sent, which can be indicated by 1 bit. Multiple STAs can simultaneously transmit a second frame carrying uplink transmission requirement information (wherein the second frame
- the training parts may be the same or coincident, and the load parts may not coincide).
- turning off or enabling the CSMA/CA-based contention access mode may mean that the STA turns off or turns on the CSMA/CA-based contention access function.
- the third frame may be a trigger frame.
- an AP sends an uplink transmission resource information to an STA, which can be regarded as an indication information, such as the indication information in FIG. a first frame (eg, carrying the indication information by a data frame or a trigger frame), the indication information indicating an uplink transmission resource that can be allocated to the STA for uplink multi-user transmission (that is, the access point informs the site through the first frame)
- an uplink transmission resource available for use or the access point indicates by the first frame that any user responds to the first frame without requiring backoff).
- the STA that needs to perform uplink multi-user data transmission may send uplink transmission requirement information according to the indication information.
- the AP may further indicate, by using the indication information, parameters of the uplink multi-user data transmission by the STA (for example, indicating which uplink transmission resources are used by the STA, how to use the sub-channel, how to use the sub-channel, how to allocate the spatial stream, modulation coding mode, and the like).
- the STA generates a second frame carrying the uplink transmission requirement information (for example, a frame carrying 26-tone RU information). Since all STAs follow the same parameters, the generated second frame is the same.
- the AP can receive one or more second frames (which can be a plurality of second frames superimposed).
- the AP may send a third frame (eg, a trigger frame for random access). If the AP does not occupy the TXOP or the remaining TXOP time is insufficient to complete the third frame interaction, the AP may perform a contention channel and send after the contention avoidance is completed. If the AP occupies a TXOP, the AP can send a trigger frame. After receiving the trigger frame, the STA performs uplink multi-user data transmission according to the trigger frame.
- Table 1 shows three technical solutions for triggering data transmission.
- the technical solution 1 specifies that a specific user is sent in a specific resource (where the station does not need to perform competition retreat), and the technical solution 2 specifies that any user randomly transmits within a specific resource range.
- the technical solution provided by the embodiment specifies that any user is sent in a specific resource. It should be noted that after receiving the second frame, the AP is allowed to trigger multi-user data transmission. For example, the AP can trigger multi-user data transmission by using the technical solution 1 or 2 in Table 1.
- the channel access mode adopted by the access AP is obtained by receiving the beacon frame, and if the AP does not indicate, the default channel access mode is used (for example, the default access mode is based on CSMA/CA competitive access method).
- the STA sends an association request frame to the AP, where the association request frame carries the channel access mode support capability/policy of the STA or the version information of the site, where the information indicates the default support capability of the STA or the format of the AP according to the association request frame (for example, a frame) Version/modulation coding method) Get the STA's default support capabilities.
- the association response frame carries a channel access policy (for example, carries information indicating which channel access mode the STA uses for channel access).
- the STA performs channel access according to a channel access policy.
- the AP may specify an access mode for the STA according to the information about the currently accessed STA, such as the access mode and the number of STAs that have been accessed.
- an OFDMA-based scheduling access method may be employed.
- This embodiment provides a timer design and a timeout process in the access process, for example, regarding the timing processing of the appointment time in various embodiments of the present invention, as follows:
- FIG. 5B is a schematic diagram of the operation of the second timer according to the embodiment of the present invention.
- the STA or the queue is set.
- a backoff value that can be specified by the AP or agreed by the agreement.
- the backoff value is decremented.
- the backoff value may be decremented by one every time a unit time elapses.
- the pause backoff value is decremented.
- FIG. 5D is a schematic diagram of the operation of a fourth timer according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the STA when the STA performs uplink transmission, for example, sends a buffer size report or a bandwidth request, and receives an AP to confirm the transmission success. After the frame, the STA can correct the backoff value. Since the STA has transmitted the required amount of data or required bandwidth information to the AP, the AP allocates resources to the STA. Therefore, the STA can reduce the severity of the contention channel by modifying the backoff value, thereby improving the chance of scheduling by the AP.
- the control right can be forwarded to the AP, and the AP instructs one or more STAs to perform uplink multi-user data transmission.
- the STA may send an acknowledgement frame (the acknowledgement frame is used to confirm that the AP can use the control channel to send and trigger the uplink multi-user data transmission. frame). Otherwise, the STA continues to send the uplink SU-PPDU.
- FIG. 6B is a schematic diagram of a second sending multi-user transmission trigger frame according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- an AP after receiving an uplink SU PPDU, an AP sends an acknowledgement frame or a block acknowledgement frame, and sends multiple users after an interval of SIFS. Transfer trigger frame.
- the AP may directly trigger the STA to perform uplink multi-user data transmission after transmitting the acknowledgement frame or the block acknowledgement frame without waiting for the acknowledgement frame that the STA responds.
- FIG. 6C is a schematic diagram of a third type of sending a multi-user transmission trigger frame according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the AP after receiving an uplink SU-PPDU, the AP sends an acknowledgement frame or a block acknowledgement frame, where The acknowledgement frame carries uplink transmission trigger information.
- the control channel transmits a multi-user transmission trigger frame.
- the STA After receiving the information by one or more STAs, the STA sends the uplink multi-user transmission data according to the uplink transmission trigger information.
- FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram of a fourth type of transmitting a multi-user transmission trigger frame according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the STA sends an RTS packet, and the AP replies to the CTS packet.
- the AP may indicate whether the multi-user transmission trigger frame needs to be transmitted by using the control channel through the CTS packet.
- the AP needs to use the control channel to send the multi-user transmission trigger frame, for the STA that supports the interaction process (for example, an STA that supports a certain protocol version, or an STA that informs the AP to support the interaction process or an STA that supports the control of the transfer channel), the AP
- the MAC address of the AP can be filled in the Receive Address (RA) field of the CTS.
- the AP can fill in the MAC address of the RTS sender in the RA of the CTS.
- the STA After the STA receives the CTS, if the RA address carried in the CTS is the address of the AP, the STA sends a short packet (for example, an acknowledgement frame), and after receiving the short packet, the AP sends a multi-user transmission trigger frame.
- the AP may include uplink transmission resource indication information of the STA or the STA and other STAs in the multi-user transmission trigger frame. After receiving the multi-user transmission trigger frame, the STA performs data transmission according to the uplink transmission resource indication information.
- the embodiment of the present invention provides that the access mode of the STA (for example, the three uplink access modes in the foregoing) may be specified by the AP.
- the STA can only use the access mode specified by the AP for access and data transmission.
- the AP may specify an access mode by sending a radio frame to the STA, where the radio frame carries indication information for indicating the STA access mode.
- the radio frame may be a beacon frame or an associated response frame.
- this embodiment provides an access method, including:
- the uplink multi-user transmission data is sent to the AP, where the uplink multi-user transmission data is transmitted on the uplink transmission resource;
- the station accesses the channel by using a CSMA/CA-based contention access method.
- the radio frame is a beacon frame
- the specific process of this embodiment is:
- radio frame is an association response frame
- the specific process of this embodiment is:
- Step 1 The STA sends an association request frame to the AP.
- association request frame and the association response frame in the above steps 1 and 2 may also be a reassociation request frame and a reassociation response frame. Since the process is the same, it will not be described here.
- the data transmission status of the STA is divided into three types:
- STA can only use the contention-based way for data transmission, such as mode 1 and/or mode 2 of the above three access methods;
- Scheduling status STA can only use the scheduling-based method for data transmission, such as mode 3;
- the STA can perform data transmission using both contention-based and scheduling-based methods, such as any of Mode 1, Mode 2, and Mode 3.
- the AP After the STA is in a data transmission state and successfully sends a data frame to the AP, the AP sends a response frame to the STA, where the response frame carries a data transmission mode (or causes the STA to enter a data transmission state). Instructions.
- the specific process is as follows:
- Step 2 The AP sends an acknowledgement frame to the STA, where the response frame carries indication information indicating a manner of sending data of the STA.
- the AP may instruct the STA to enter the mixed state from the contention state by using the indication information.
- the STA should listen to the channel to receive the trigger frame, or prefer to send the buffer status report BSR instead of directly transmitting the data frame.
- Method 1 After the STA receives the TFR, when the condition is met:
- Method 3 After receiving the TFR, the STA is not allowed to send data frames.
- Solution 1 The STA can simultaneously transmit using Mode 1 and Mode 2 described above. That is, the STA can simultaneously open two backoff procedures, one for CSMA/CA-based contention access and the other for OFDMA contention-based contention access.
- Step 4 The AP sends a multi-user block acknowledgment frame (English: multi-user block ACK; abbreviation: MBA).
- This embodiment provides a transmission mode conversion method, that is, after a STA competes to a channel by using a CSMA/CA-based contention access method to obtain a TXOP, the STA may send a radio frame to the AP, and at the same time, allow the AP to schedule other STAs to share the TXOP with the STA.
- the specific sharing mode may be an OFDMA mode or a multi-user MIMO mode.
- the STA has the right to control whether the current TXOP is a multi-user transmission or a single-user transmission, as well as the transmission time of single-user transmission or multi-user transmission.
- Step 1 STA1 sends a first frame to the AP in the TXOP initiated by the STA1, where the first frame carries the first indication information, where the first indication information is used to indicate that the AP can trigger uplink multi-user data transmission.
- STA1 Under the indication of the trigger frame, in addition to STA1, other STAs (such as STA2) and STA1 simultaneously transmit data to the AP by using the UL MU.
- Step 4 The AP sends a response frame, and the response frame simultaneously responds to data frames transmitted by multiple users (UL MU).
- the response frame may be a multi-user block ACK (MBA) or an acknowledgement frame (ACK/BA) carried by the DL MU (downlink multi-user).
- MBA multi-user block ACK
- ACK/BA acknowledgement frame
- the AP sends the next The frame cannot trigger the UL MU transmission.
- the transmission of STA1 as the owner of the TXOP determines the transmission length of the present TXOP. Therefore, if STA1 ends the transmission and the AP is not authorized to continue to use the TXOP, STA1 may send a contention free end (English: Contention Free-End; abbreviated as: CF-End) to end the present TXOP.
- CF-End Contention Free-End
- the AP triggers more than one STA to transmit data by using the UL MU
- the data length of STA1 should be used as the reference for the transmission time, that is, the transmission of other STAs cannot exceed the transmission length of STA1.
- the preset time in this embodiment may be SIFS, or other fixed time, such as SSIFS, PIFS, and the like.
- the first indication information in this embodiment is located in the HE control field, and the second indication information may also be located in the HE control field, and may even reuse the information bits of the first indication information.
- the AP may indicate that there is still a part in the next trigger frame.
- the data is not sent out (the specific form may be to reuse the More data bit, or other dedicated information bits may be used).
- the STA1 as the TXOP owner may consider this information to decide whether to continue to allow the UL MU to transmit.
- the STA1 may indicate the minimum resource information of the allocation of the STA1 in the authorized UL MU while indicating the authorized UL MU transmission. For example, if the AP next triggers an UL OFDMA transmission, STA1 can instruct the AP to allocate a minimum bandwidth of no less than 20 MHz.
- the embodiments of the present invention can be applied to a scenario in which multiple users compete in the uplink.
- the access mode of OFDMA is used (may be The OFDMA contention access mode may also be the scheduling access mode of OFDMA for data transmission. If the trigger frame is not received within the agreed time, the CSMA/CA-based competing access party is used. Data transmission is performed; secondly, CSMA/CA-based contention access mode with larger CW is used for data transmission within the agreed time, and CSMA/CA-based contention access mode with smaller CW is used for data transmission after the appointed time. Third, reduce the size of the CW at the end of the appointment time.
- the OFDMA connection is used.
- the inbound mode (which may be the contention access mode of the OFDMA or the scheduling access mode of the OFDMA) performs data transmission. If the trigger frame is not received within the agreed time, the CSMA/CA-based contention access method is used for data transmission.
- the station can set a timer to time the agreed time.
- Use channel access method one before the timer expires for example: (if a trigger frame is received) OFDMA access mode or CW larger CSMA/CA-based contention access mode); use channel after timer expires Access method 2 (for example: (if a trigger frame is received) an access mode of OFDMA or a CW/CA-based contention access mode with a smaller CW); after receiving a trigger frame from the AP, the timer is cancelled.
- the timer is cancelled.
- the timer expires one is that the station delays competition or slows down the strength of its own competing channel.
- control can be handed over to the AP, and the AP sends a multi-user transmission trigger frame.
- the trigger frame may carry uplink transmission resource information.
- the site uses an access mode that suppresses CSMA contention access at event 1, and a mode that promotes CSMA contention access at event 2.
- the access mode for suppressing CSMA contention access includes increasing the contention window parameter of the CSMA competition access, or stopping the backoff value update of the CSMA contention access, or prohibiting the CSMA from competing for access.
- Access modes that facilitate CSMA contention access including reducing the contention window parameters of CSMA contention access, or recovering/starting the backoff value update of CSMA contention access, or allowing CSMA to compete for access.
- Event 1 can be: a data packet to be sent by the station or a site to send a buffer size report and an acknowledgement frame received by the AP.
- Event 2 can be: the timer expires and the trigger frame sent by the AP is not received.
- the AP provides an event indication that is used (dominantly or implicitly) to indicate to the station that the channel access mode is used.
- the event indication may be: uplink transmission resource information carried by the trigger frame sent by the AP, and the like.
- the sending module 801 is configured to send, to the access point, a first frame that carries uplink transmission requirement information.
- the processing module 802 is configured to: if the second frame carrying the uplink transmission resource information is received from the access point within an agreed time, send uplink multi-user transmission data to the access point, where the uplink multi-user transmits data Transmitting on the uplink transmission resource; if the second frame is not received within the agreed time, the station uses the carrier access CSMA/CA-based contention access mode to access the channel.
- the access device further includes: a timing module 803, configured to time the appointment time by using a timer, where an initial value of the timer is specified by the access point or agreed by a protocol.
- a timing module 803 configured to time the appointment time by using a timer, where an initial value of the timer is specified by the access point or agreed by a protocol.
