Description

A TOASTER WITH A DETACHABLE PLATE
The present invention relates to a toaster wherein the plate on which cooking or roasting process is realized is detachable.
Foodstuffs such as toasts or grills cooked by using a toaster cool down rapidly after being removed from the toaster for serving. For example, when a slice of bread is toasted with the toaster and the toasted bread is taken on a plate, the bread immediately gets cold and spreading of solid butter, etc. thereon becomes difficult. Similarly, when a piece of meat is roasted with the toaster and the roasted meat is taken on a plate, fat of the meat congeals rapidly, causing dissatisfaction in the user. Thus, a toaster enabling the user to serve the foodstuff cooked along with the grill plate is a desirable feature. Moreover, particularly in the grilling process, the foodstuffs release their fat and juice with the effect of the heat received. Released fat and juice spill from the toaster on the counter or congeal on the toaster and in this case the fat and juice that are released from the foodstuff cannot be used.
In the state of the art British Patent Application No. GB2411818, a toaster with a portable plate is disclosed.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a toaster that enables the user to serve the foodstuff when still hot on the table.
The toaster realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the claims, comprises a handle that enables the plate whereon toasting, cooking or roasting process is realized to be held from its edges, that can be attached to and detached from the plate and that also has a fluid receptacle wherein the fat and juice released from the foodstuff are collected. In the toaster of the present invention, upon completion of the cooking or roasting process, the handle is attached to the plate such that the plate is enabled to be used as a tray for serving of the foodstuff on the plate. Moreover, by means of the plate that is still hot, the foodstuff remains hot for a longer time. The fat and juice released as the foodstuff gets hot move along the edge of the plate to which the handle is attached and flow into the fluid receptacle on the handle. The fat accumulated in the fluid receptacle can be used afterward to add taste to foodstuff, for example while making a sauce.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a flow path arranged on the plate is used in order to provide smooth transfer of the fat on the plate to the fluid receptacle. The flow path enables the fat on the plate to be directed and transferred to the fluid receptacle.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the handle has legs feet that enable the plate to be suspended in the air when the handle is attached to the plate. Thus, when moved by means of the handle and placed on a table, the plate stands on the feet and is prevented from causing any damage to the table due to its heat.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the handle has a clamp that enables the handle to be easily and efficiently attached to the plate. By pressing on one side of the handle, the jaw of the clamp is opened and the plate is attached. By means of firm grip of the clamp on the plate, a safe moving is realized.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the plate has a lug whereon the clamp is locked such that the handle provides a safer connection. In this embodiment, the lugs protrude outward from the sides of the plate and thus, the clamp is enabled to be attached to a relatively cooler spot of the plate.
In a version of this embodiment, the lug is produced in T form and the clamp grips on the sides of the lug, providing locking. Thus, the plate and the handle are prevented from detaching from each other while the plate is moved by means of the handle.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the handle is produced from a material with low heat conductivity such that the user’s hand does not get burned while handling the hot plate. Thus, no matter how hot the plate is, the handle is always at such a temperature to be held by hand.
In the toaster of the present invention, by means of the handle, the plate on which cooking or roasting process is carried out can be used as a tray. Moreover, by means of the fluid receptacle that provides the collection of the fat released from the foodstuff, both the usability is increased and the cleaning process is facilitated.
The toaster realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures where
Figure 1 - is the schematic view of the toaster in an embodiment of the present invention.

The toaster (1) comprises a body (2), a heater (3) disposed inside the body (2), and a plate (4) that is placed on the body (2) so as to be over the heater (3). In the toaster (1), the heater (3) is turned on, thus providing the heating of the plate (4) and the foodstuff placed on the plate (4) is enabled to be roasted. The toaster (1) can also perform toasting by means of two plates (4) positioned one facing the other.
The toaster (1) of the present invention comprises a handle (5) that is detachably attached to the side of the plate (4), that enables the plate (4) to be carried by holding the handle (5) from the side thereof or from the top part, and that has a fluid receptacle (6) that provides the collection of the fluid on the plate (4).
In the toaster (1) of the present invention, upon completion of the roasting/cooking process, the handles (5) are attached to the opposite sides of the plate (5) and enable the plate (4) to be detached from the body (2) and carried. Thus, the roasted or cooked foodstuff is enabled to be served on the plate (4) that is preferably produced from a metal material and that maintains its temperature for a long time after the heating process, and thus, the temperature of the foodstuff is preserved for a longer period of time. The foodstuffs cooked with the toaster (1) release their fat and juice with the effect of the heat received and the released fat and juice flow over the plate (4) onto the counter whereon the toaster (1) is placed. By means of the fluid receptacle (6) in the handle (5) of the present invention, the fat and juice on the plate (4) are collected. The fat collected in the fluid receptacle (6) can be used for example while making a sauce as per the user preference. Moreover, by means of the collection of the fat in the fluid receptacle (6), the toaster (1) can be cleaned easier.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the plate (4) comprises a flow path (7) that is disposed on the side of the plate (4) to which the handle (5) is attached and that provides the flow of the fat on the plate (4) into the fluid receptacle (6).
