Abstract
Disclosed is an optical pressure sensor (42) having: a first light guide path (44-1) and a second light guide path (44-2), a light exit face of the first light guide path (44-1) and a light entry face of the second light guide path (44-2) being arranged such that light supplied via the first light guide path (44-1) and exiting the light exit face of the first light guide path (44-1) is incident on the light entry face of the second light guide path (44-2); and a first surface (10) and a second surface (20), which can move relative to one another and the distance between which defines a light propagation path between the light exit face of the first light guide path (44-1) and the light entry face of the second light guide path (44-2). The first surface (10) and the second surface (20) are coupled together mechanically, such that as a compressive force that is absorbed by the pressure sensor increases, the first surface (10) and the second surface (20) move away from one another. Other aspects relate to a measuring mattress comprising a plurality of pressure sensors (42) that are based on light guides and are accommodated in respective cavities, a bed provided with the measuring mattress, a method for detecting conditions of a body lying on the bed, and a diagnostic system.
