Description
REAR WINDOW MOUNTING BRACKET
DESCRIPTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a bracket and a bracket connection assembly which is formed to mount the vehicle windows on the vehicle body shell.
Background of the Invention
There are windows on the vehicles for the occupants to see outside of the vehicle. The windows are generally provided on the vehicle doors and vehicle front and rear parts. The vehicle door windows are generally in a form which can be opened and closed (retracted). The vehicle front and rear windows on the other hand are immovably fixed on the vehicle. When mounting vehicle front and rear windows, the window is fixed on the vehicle body shell. Fixing operation is carried out by means of a hole provided on the shell and a pin secured on the window. The pin is used as a connecting member between the vehicle body shell and the window. Since particularly the vehicle rear and front windows are at a different angle with the vehicle body shell, the pin connection used in the state of the art is engaged onto the vehicle body shell in an angled manner, and the resulting curvature makes mounting of the vehicle window difficult. Furthermore, as the pin connection is engaged onto the vehicle body shell in an angled manner, the vehicle body shell mounting hole is deformed. In the pin connections provided in the state of the art, since the distance between the vehicle windows and the vehicle body shell is large, the pin does not remain in a vertical position and can easily be dislocated from the surface on which it is adhered due to the acting forces.
The window pins in the state of the art are single-piece and the pin is directly adhered onto the window. Thus, in case of deformations occurring in the pin, replacing and mounting/removing the pin becomes a very difficult process. Problems Solved by the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to provide a rear window mounting bracket which comprises a removable pin assembly for fixing immovable vehicle windows on the vehicle body shell.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a rear window mounting bracket by which the distance between the window and the body shell surface, on which the window will be mounted, is eliminated. A further objective of the present invention is to provide a rear window mounting bracket which, for windows with large curvature, forms a pin connection that provides a perpendicular connection on the shell on which the window will be mounted. Another objective of the present invention is to provide a rear window mounting bracket which provides a removable pin that is mounted on the shell on which the vehicle window will be mounted.

at least one intermediate piece (2); which is comprised of a body (21) located between curved vehicle window (K) and the vehicle shell (S) on which the window (K) is fixed, a lower surface (22) on which the window
(K) is fixed, and an upper surface (23) parallel to the shell (S); and which includes
• at least one slot (24) in the form of a hollow which is located on the upper surface (23) of the body (21),
· at least one locking tab (25) which is located in the slot (24) in the form of a protrusion,
at least one connection pin (3), which, from one part thereof, fits into the slot (24), and which, from the other part thereof, is engaged into the mounting hole of the vehicle shell (S) thereby enabling the window (K) to be fixed on the vehicle shell (S) via the intermediate piece (2),
at least one locking recess (31) which is located on the part of the connection pin (3) that fits into the slot (24), has a size that allows the locking tab (25) to fit therein, and provides locking between the intermediate piece (2) and the connection pin (3) when the locking tab (25) fits therein and the connection pin (3) rotates around its own axis, at least one slot protrusion (32), which is located on the connection pin (3) and which, when the connection pin (3) completely fits into the slot (24), contacts the upper surface (23) and provides a support,

The mounting bracket (1) of the present invention is comprised of an intermediate piece (2) fixed on the vehicle window (K) and a connection pin (3) mounted on the intermediate piece (2). The intermediate piece (2) provided in the mounting bracket (1) is located between the window (K) and the connection pin (3), and it both enables the connection pin (3) to engage onto the shell (S) perpendicularly from the curved window (K) and enables the distance between the shell (S) and the window (K) to be cleared. The connection pin (3) enables the vehicle window (K) to be fastened onto the shell (S).
The intermediate piece (2) provided in the mounting bracket (1) of the present invention is comprised of a body (21), which is fixed from its lower surface (22) onto the vehicle window (K), and whose upper surface (23) is located parallel or at a near angle to the vehicle shell (S). There is a slot (24), into which the connection pin (3) will fit, on the upper surface (23) of the intermediate piece (2) facing the body shell (S). The connection pin (3) provided on the mounting
bracket (1) of the present invention extends from the slot (24), on which it is fixed from one end thereof, such that it passes through the mounting hole on the vehicle shell (S), and enables the window (K) to be fixed on the vehicle shell (S). The connection pin (3) acts on the mounting hole of the vehicle shell (S) perpendicularly by means of the intermediate piece (2) upper surface (23) that is parallel to the vehicle shell (S).
In one embodiment of the invention, the connection pin (3) provided on the mounting bracket (1) can be mounted on and removed from the intermediate piece (2). The connection pin (3) can be mounted on and removed from the intermediate piece (2) by means of the protrusion-shaped locking tab (25) located in the slot (24) on the intermediate piece (2) and the locking recess (31) provided on the connection pin (3). When the connection pin (3) is being engaged to the slot (24), the locking recess (31) and the locking tab (25) are aligned, and after the engagement, the connection pin (3) rotates around its own axis and thereby the locking tab (25) remains within the locking recess (31), and the connection pin (3) is prevented from getting dislocated from the slot (24).
In one embodiment of the invention, the connection pin (3) is mounted on and removed from the intermediate piece (2) via screwing method. The threads on the connection pin (3) are engaged to the threaded hole on the slot (24) of the intermediate piece (2); and when the connection pin (3) rotates around its own axis, the connection pin (3) is fixed on the intermediate piece (2). In one embodiment of the invention, there is provided a slot protrusion (32) which is located on the connection pin (3) and which provides support for the connection pin (3) to remain at a vertical position inside the slot (24). The slot protrusions (32) contact the upper surface (23) of the intermediate piece (2) and act a support after the connection pin (3) is completely engaged into the slot (24). The slot protrusion (32) is preferably located on two opposing sides of the connection pin (3).
In one embodiment of the invention, there is an adhesive (4) between the vehicle window (K) and the intermediate piece (2) lower surface (22) contacting the window (K). The adhesive (4) enables the intermediate piece (2) to be fixed on the window (K).
In one embodiment of the invention, the intermediate piece (2) is made of a plastic material. Thanks to the said plastic intermediate piece (2), the intermediate piece (2) is enabled to be adhered onto the window (K) in a better way and any deformation that may occur on the connection parts of the connection pin (3) are prevented.
In one embodiment of the invention, the connection pin (3) and the connection pin slot (24) are circular. The circular form allows rotational movement of the connection pin (3) around its own axis which is required for the connection pin (3) to have a removable structure.
In one embodiment of the invention, the intermediate piece (2) lower surface (22) is rectangular and is larger than the volume of the connection pin (3). By means of the said large volume, the intermediate piece (2) is enabled to contact the window (K) through a larger area, and effectiveness of the adhesive (4) is enhanced.
